Atheon could still be soloed after patch. Templar could still be cheesed from up top. What bells is this supposed to ring exactly?

Sniping the Templar from the top isn't cheesing, as long as he's not being preemptively killed. You still have to go through the suppression fields and do the damage on him, so I wouldn't call it cheesing. Pushing someone off the edge is cheesing because you're not actually doing the damage on them.

Atheon is impossible to solo. If no one is teleported, you are killed by a message that says "You are lost forever in the dark corners of time."

Yes, he can. YouTube it. Sunsinger with a Super ready and solar grenades can push him off at the middle platform before the teleport.
