thorn vs TLW
So,i just finished thorn bounty yesterday
And today when i finished the nightfall i got TLW
So,in your opinion which one us better to level

The last word is more fun imo. Very aggressive in pvp but somewhat inconsistent. fun in patrol but not all that great in mobs. Thorn is very dangerous in pvp and relatively good in pve. Bottom line [spoiler]hawkmoon[/spoiler]

1 RispondiThe only hand cannon I have ever owned is The Last Word. I've always been an assault rifle guy but when I use the last word it makes me feel swag when my guardian spins it after a melee or when I equip it. I don't care if any guns has better stats, no gun will ever make me as feel happy or like I'm in a space western as the last word.

TLW is good for pvp. Thorn is good for Pve and pvp.

I owned TLW and Thorn for a very long time and I'd say that TLW is slightly better in PvP than Thorn. Although Thorn is very good in PvP aswell. PvE Thorn rules no doubt.

I picked Thorn up on Saturday but haven't had a chance to take her out for a spin yet. I have The Last Word and Hawkmoon and I love both of them. The Last Word in my opinion is the coolest gun in the game (dat twirl animation), kinda makes me feel like Doc Holliday at the O.K. Corral. With that said, Hawkmoon became my favorite the first time I fired it. Hopefully I will get a chance to try out thorn soon (got some other exotics I've got to level up first).

1 RispondiTLW- IMO outshines Thorn in most PVP scenarios and maps. Thorn- Outshines TLW in ALL PVE scenarios. If you will be using for both PVE and PVP, upgrade the thorn first. This will give you the more versatile of the two. TLW is PVP only IMO. Thorn is serviceable in both PVE and PVP. If i had to choose one, it would have to be thorn because it is more versatile, and i play a bit of everything. If i was strictly looking for a PVP handcannon, i would go with TLW.

They're both really good, but fell completely different. I love them both but prefer Thorn just a little more.

1 RispondiI use Thorn in PvP. The Send It perk is good for big maps, and Perfect Balance for small maps. It has a high rate of fire, but you can only capitalize on it if you're using the stability bonus. The +DMG on the final round almost never gets used. I'd rather have almost any other perk than that one. Penetration and DoT is nice.

They are, to me, equals. The Last Word has auto fire (not many people know you can just hold the trigger down and fire it full auto), which makes it the king of close to mid range gunfights. It even has decent range sniping, but only at the far end of mid range and the [i]very[/i] beginning of far range. You'll still get killed by a skilled sniper like this though. Thorn has range, impact, and DoT. The rate of fire is slower, which means you [i]have[/i] to make the headshots count. However, it's superior range has led me to many a victory over snipers on maps like Blind Watch and Shores of Time. I have killed Last Word users with Thorn. I have killed Thorn users with the Last Word. It all depends on which one you enjoy more.

Thorn PvE, TLW PvP. If you had to choose one I'd say thorn because of TLW range issues and its small mag

I've got em both neither are maxed out but the 'Thorn' is the winner for me. Love my Thorn

Besides being hand cannons they have nothing in common.. Thorn is more well rounded and will be viable is pretty much any situation. If you go with tlw make sure you have a decent sniper.. nothing worse than getting sniped across the lvl while using tlw

6 RisposteThorn competed with TLW pre-buff in PvP. Post buff, it's barely a contest. Thorn is just so good, especially compared to other HCs. I think it comes down to play style and what you want. TLW does not handle like a HC, it's more like an auto shotgun or even an auto rifle. I rarely use TLW, even in PvP, and never use it in PvE. I don't regret buying it from Xur, but I'll never upgrade it either. Thorn is absolutely worth leveling up and trying out. Once you unlock the stability buff, it becomes an absolute monster. And Thorn actually has the same ROF as TLW, so if you can spam the trigger, you can fire it pretty fast. Hope this helps, good luck and happy hand cannoning.
