I'm failing to understand the averseness to providing vault space to people who would like to have it, if it will have a positive affect on their game experience. Bungie wants this game to last for 10 years. You know how that is going to happen? By creating an environment with continuity and retaining players with long-term dedication, which often coincides with having a sense of personal investment in the characters and items they have in-game.
For example, I am going to keep the 4/4 set of level 1 gear from all 4 classes. It is unique. It would be "COOL", to me, to be able to wear that later on. This game is intended to have a strong social aspect, and that will not be cultivated by the ephemeral style of impatient console gamers who are always ready to move on to the next game... You say you played WoW for many years, but you sound very put-off by the idea of people wanting to have some of the same social aspects of games like WoW incorporated into Destiny.

Destiny is not a big social aspect game, what destiny gives you is a chance to have people help you do task that you are trying to complete. Were not standing around in the tower doing clan events "RPing". Were not standing by with our full custom look trying to impress people. You and your 40 friends are not sitting in the tower calling our random exotics to see who has the most. Would a bigger vault be something people would like, well read the other post thats a yes. But the idea that Destiny is to be shaped so that one day you can hold on to every item just to say you have it is kinda missing the point of this game. Right now were just in a shooter. And just like any MMO gear that is of higher level is what matters. Hell if this game was half of what it was told it was going to be then ya, let me have a bank vault to hold that cool looking chest item so I can change the way my raid gear looked. But it's not. The, for lack of better words, nitpicking about not having room to change shaders every 5 min into something new or the lack of space so that one day you could say you have every exotic in the game is just not needed. (not trying to sound rude to OP or others) True MMOs give you this vast room because you need it. Mass amount of items that even the little low level stuff would be needed one day down the road (WoW ex. Cloth to turn in for reputation on a alt.). Destiny lacks this side of the MMO world. The only MMO thing about it is seeing people playing. Will vaults get bigger, we have seen in this post it could happen. Is this a big deal game breaking problem, this is last on my list.
