EDIT: YOU WANT MORE PROOF? BUNGIE YOU DONE -blam!-ED IT UP!!! ONE JOB YOU HAD ONE JOB!!!

Edit 2: You know its kinda funny that the bug was on a PS4... I guess PlayStation gets everything first... even the bad news.
I know there's a lot of justified... lets call it emotional overreaction... going on over Destiny. Since well Bungie promised one thing and delivered something quite different, this however isn't something new to Bungie veterans, there are actually some stark parallels to one of Bungie's most beloved of all time games Halo 2.
Go back and play the story, complete and utter rubbish, 343i might not be able to balance a multiplayer or, create diverse mission objectives, but the narrative present in Halo 4 is well told, for something that was... well bound by the constraints of Halo 3, and its.... well again lack luster story. In fact I'd say Bungie isn't really good at telling a moment to moment story, OH they can create a wonderful universe that OTHER people such as Eric Nylund, Greg Bear, or 343i have told amazing stories in, But Bungie... Out of the 5 Halo games they've done, only 2 of them have decent stories Halo 1 and Halo: Reach. Moving forward Halo 2 and 3 had horrid multiplayers until many patches in.
BUT WHAT EXACTLY am I getting at? I'm sure some will disagree with me, one thing you can't disagree with is this isn't the first time Bungie has shown us one thing, and delivered something completely different.
Ladies, Gentlemen, Exos, and Vex, I present to you Halo 2 E3 2004.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_y3cbIV-Xg
And Destiny E3 2013 Sony Press Conference.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OtcO4ptp2j8
These two Showing are almost beat for beat the same showing, no really. They run through and area that looks to be in the game, they make bad jokes, and finish with a trailer that represents NOTHING in the final game.
Don't worry I took Notes.
I wont go Over Halo 2 its well documented that NOTHING in that made it into the game.
So E3 2013 Sony Press Conference:
0:00 The entirety of this mission.
1:14 The ship Drops the Player off, in a cinematic fashion at the beginning of the mission.
2:12 Fire Team member drops off ship.
3:51 Taking out your Ghost for light when you need it, not when the game decides you need it.
3:52 Snarky banter from your Ghost.
4:37 More interesting banter from the Ghost in that Game of Thrones 'We have Peter- Mother Blaming!- Dinklage'
Also at 4:37 Pulse Rifle Primary(In a scout body leading me to think at onetime they were the same gun class, which makes sense, since they do the same thing in this game.)
And a Hand Cannon Secondary (Which I honestly think it should be because the -blam!-ing thing is useless as a primary in PVP (and if my experience differs from yours congratulation, however 90% of PVP is Shotguns and Fusion rifles, 5% AR's and 5% OP Warlocks... For me that is.)
5:53 Crit Markers, I like this more then the yellow damage.
7:05 Boss Loot Drop and loot tables, also Loot that seems more Class use, Sniper for the Hunter, and Lightning Chain-gun for the Warlock.
7:27 HIGH LEVEL LOOT YOU CAN USE WHEN YOU PICK IT UP. None of this engram shit. And correct me if I'm wrong, but I distinctly remember engrams at one point being an option, not a necessity. EXAMPLE: If I pick up an engram and take it to our favorite blue bastard, I would have a CHOICE between an item of that type but possibly a lesser rarity, or I could role the dice and get something better ( Hence why he has a rank, the more you used him the better your role was to be. Again I could be wrong, but I wanna say at one point it worked that way. )
7:44 The Rolling Thunder Ability on the ThunderLord.
7:56 Weapon Dropping?
8:13 Sniper or Fusion Rifle Heavy? ( The hunter is seen with a Pulse/Scout rifle when fighting the Devil Walker.)
9:00 More Player Ship Joining.
9:19 Leaving One Mission, and seamlessly going back into the world, not going to orbit.
11:38 Conversation with the Speaker Explaining ANYTHING.
11:48 Opining a Door.
11:49 Meeting "Crow" in Old Russia and the " This is how we talk in the wild."
12:01 Saturn.
Lets see what else? Where are the Swamps of Old Chicago? Or The Ice Fields of Europa? Or the Shipyards of Saturn?
Oh don't get me wrong I get that things change during development, that's a year or so old build of the game... STILL I'd like to think content is changed for the better of a game, not the worse.
Moving forward to a few other, yet related things.
I don't have any proof of the legitimacy behind the climes, but apparently a Reddit user posted an interesting plot outline for Destiny's "original" plot. I dont have the link BUT you can read it in this Angry Joe Video at 20:20.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7gwQ2S1xSz0&list=UUsgv2QHkT2ljEixyulzOnUQ
I'm inclined to believe this, considering the E3 demo, and MANY of the Codex Cards you unlock, key ones being The Black Garden, and the one found in the Seraphim Vault, which 99% of the community wont have access to.
Speaking of.... WHY can I glitch into: ( I own none of these videos.)
The Seraphim Vault:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YiaodSkKUmk
The Jovian Complex:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pqznLrRB14Q
Kings Watch:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SnOnYNENa-s
And this is just what I know about ON EARTH.
Fully realized areas, ( Kings Watch has LvL 20 enamies and a "Boss" even.) behind essentially locked doors, but I can't play any of this content. I Haven't been to the Jovian Complex myself, but I have recovered the Ghosts from the Seraphim Vault, and Kings Watch. What's the deal Bungie? Cut content to be sold back to us under your Season Pass? Content that was simply cut due to time? (Doubtful Ghost are there) or FREE update story content. I'm sure EVERYONE would like to know.
Destiny is a mess. A mass of bad development choices, BLATINT LYING to the fans, and apparent CUT content to be SOLD back to us. We DEMAND answers Bungie, if you have planned FREE story content then show us, what is the schedule for content that we can expect OUTSIDE the Season Pass, or is this is a chopped up half game, that you THOUGHT we would be content with. That things like the Queens Wrath would sedate us into complacency, with the same weak rewards for replaying the same 3-4 story missions over and over and over again.
PS: If you know of other content like the Kings Watch, The Seraphim Vault, or The Jovian Complex. Post it with links to YouTube.
PSS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gzopWRXK_r4&index=2&list=UUsgv2QHkT2ljEixyulzOnUQ Angry Joe Revew, the guys spot on.
PSSS: Because Peter Dinklage http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=idVozGXbn2Y
PSSSS: Phantasy Star Universe, called from 2006 and wants to know how a game in 2014 can come out with less content then a game from 2006?
PSSSS: Bungie I dedicate this song to you.

I love this game but I agree with alot of that.

6 RisposteI guess I don't understand but... do you hate this game? How many hours do expect to get out of $60? You've played about 127 hours (like that guy stuck between a rock and a hard place who then cut off his arm). The game has been out for almost three weeks. So you've spent over 40 hours a week playing since it came out. Do you hate it? I do understand that Bungie probably held back content. And yes they are trying to make more money off us. What a shock. I personally love the game. I'm excited about what's coming and for the possibilities of things to come. I don't mind giving Bungie (and Activision) more money over time to make sure this game is supported. I'm a rube. But so are you. These are businesses. If they are successful they make lots of profit. Deal with it.

20 RisposteHow does Bungie even allow idiots like this to post crap like this?
-
I don't demand anything... I understand how the development process works... Your lack of this understanding is causing you to make incomplete conclusions...

12 RisposteModificato da ColdAtrophy: 9/28/2014 4:31:45 PMYou know. I have an inkling of a thought. Maybe this isn't the right place to post this but I can't help but feel like it isn't worth creating a new topic on and most of you reading here might be willing to chime in. http://gamerant.com/halo-reach-level-cap-removed-november-dyce-46858/ Food for thought: When Reach launched, all the content wasn't there right away. Some people hit the level cap relatively quickly and were stuck at Lieutenant Colonel Grade 3 for a bit. They brought Campaign Matchmaking online after they removed the level cap as well. I personally believe that this was to prevent people from getting too far into the progressions system before they had the proper time to identify exploits and bugs that might have artificially allowed people to get too far before they could rein in said bugs. Is it not, at the very least, possible that Bungie withheld a chunk of the game to allow players time to work out some of the kinks and get the networking and other issues ironed out first? I'm just spitballing here, but if they thought that was necessary for Reach, wouldn't that go double for something like this? I'm not trying to get anyone's hopes up, but I'm wondering if there is some arbitrary hidden number of things we need to complete as a community that Bungie is waiting for before we get more of the game, so as to help keep the community together in terms of what they are experiencing when. If you are weeks ahead of me in the story, we aren't really experiencing the same shared world are we? Maybe I'm totally wrong about this, but it's been nagging at me in the back of my brain for a bit now and I thought I'd share. Thanks for reading.

5 RisposteModificato da ClusiveC: 9/28/2014 4:52:35 PMYou said that they did Halo Reach right... ...Even though Halo Reach had way more stuff that didn't make it into the final game, unlike Destiny - a game that isn't even final yet. I specifically remember scenes/events not only from E3, but from Vidocs as well, of Reach gameplay that never saw the day of light. Classic case of ignoring evidence that contradicts one's own argument.

Modificato da other account: 9/29/2014 12:51:27 AMMy take is Bungie keeps losing good people over the years and are at point today where they just don't have any talent. For instance look at the credits of Halo CE and compare them to Halo 3; it's as if the two games were created by entirely different studios. How much of Halo 2 was inspired by good developers during the time they worked on Halo CE? Or much how of Halo 3 was inspired by the contributions the Halo 2 dev made? As I said, it's pretty obvious almost everyone from the 'golden era' is gone and replaced by m$ n00bies such as Sage Merrill. Bungie's downfall has been years in the making; it's just that today they have finally abandoned (almost) all the good design decisions of their former colleges and so the true ineptitude the current Bungie shines through. Really there is no hope Bungie will change.

2 RisposteI love playing Destiny, i really do, i've enjoyed it since Alpha and i know i'll continue to enjoy but after reading this, watching the videos and some of the reviews i can't help but agree with...well..nearly everything. even the graphics looked sharper in that E3 Demo, the interface, the inventory..it all looks superior to what we have now...i think i want to play that Destiny, not that i don't enjoy the one we have..that one just looks far better.

Halo 2 disappointed after that awesome "gameplay" trailer, but still had one hell of a story. Destiny on the other hand...go read an encyclopedia of grimoire cards on your computer lol

3 RisposteI think the truth revealed itself at release.... The DLC's look weak as well. I am playing til the Shadow of Mordor comes out next week, its not hyped to hell, and its getting good reviews.. Let us not forget this game barely got a 7 from critics. I give it a 6, I don't care about this game enough, to pull up videos and crap about what you THOUGHT was going to be in it. Just go trade it in to gamestop towards the shadow of mordor that game is going to be a blast... Anytime a movie gets over advertised it normally sucks, same goes with a video game guys... Its a game they made to make as much money as possible. that is why there is DLC code in the game now. THE DLC'S will not be true expansions it just going to be content they already made and should have been released with the game, concidering they can make more easy money off of idiots they just kept some of the game components and will release them in 20 dollar installments. Oh and idiots will pay for it.. Yet in the old days when game devs gave a shit they would have released the whole game with all the content and in about 2-4 years maybe we got a expansion.. STOP SUPPORTING THESE KIND OF GAMES it makes you look like an idiot folks your getting ripped off..

3 RisposteModificato da Deltron3040: 9/28/2014 10:49:58 PMThis was THE game I was looking forward to. going back a year and a half or more. I've put a good amount of time in, and still haven't done all of the content. Like VOG and some story stuff, but we know how thin and boring that is. I wouldn't say I got totally ripped off because I've had fun to about this point, but right now the fun is coming to a grinding halt, no pun intended. There's just a lack of stuff to do...the locked off areas is just one aspect and I don't like that at all, but that's not all I'm not happy with. Generally speaking, there's nothing to do but shoot stuff and grind. Obviously that is the core of the game and it's well done, but there's really no reason to explore the environments. No secrets or collectibles or anything really interesting to discover, it's all very pretty, but all the time spent creating it was wasted because you take a quick glance then move on. And for a social game, there's not much fun to be had. I'd love to be able to scour the world for secrets, without running into invisible walls everywhere. While doing that I've love for things to be not so predictable, like enemy spawns and public events that people even make apps for because everyone knows the time and place they show up. And then I'd love to be able to communicate with others in a more diverse way, like a plethora of emotes and stupid tower activities. But there's little of that stuff to be found, so now it's getting incredibly boring. The slicing up/locking off of a game with already sparse content makes it that much worse. I regret buying the digital guardian edition now, and I was so convinced this game was gonna be great from the alpha/beta. But those were just demos in the end, nothing cool was added or unlocked in the final version. Unless they turn this ship around and fast, I won't be investing any further in this game and will simply find something else to play. Finally there is some quality next gen stuff in the pipeline and we'll actually have a decent selection of products to choose from instead of having to cling to these scraps devs/pubs are calling complete games.

1 RispondiLongest opinion ever lmao

2 RisposteI honestly feel like a lot of the blame may need to be put on to Activision, not just Bungie. I mean, Activision were the publishers of the game, so they had a lot of control over Bungie, in terms as to what gets published and what doesn't, what gets in the game, what gets cut, and what's in DLC. We've seen what Activision can do with DLC, such as with CoD (Just really adding four or so maps for like $20) and I honestly feel like they're butt-blam!-ing Bungie with this. In other thoughts though, it could also be the fact that Bungie may have been afraid. Because there was no real genre set in Destiny, I think they just felt like if they did one thing, which in production would have been amazing, we as a community would have given them flak for adding it into the set genre of the game, The problem with this, though, is that because they had no set genre, they got confused as to what made the game tick, going mainly on the FPS elements, and falling short in everything else (RPG elements, the MMO elements, Narrative as a whole). Mind you, Activision has a contract with Bungie for 4 Destiny Games in 10 years, so we don't know what would come from this. In my honest opinion though, I feel like this is mainly Activision to blame, as a lot of us know how badly they are money grabbers, selling the same game over and over again with a pretty face, and overly expensive DLC which only adds 4-ish maps, most of which people hardly use anyways. I have a lot of DLC for some of the CoD games, and I hardly get any games on DLC maps (and I do play with them active), so I feel that Activision decided to (in the words of Bungie in the Vidmaster Challenge guide) "Phone this one in" and make it more about the money than the experience.

5 RisposteIt's a good thing I'm buying Shadow of Mordor now, that game actually has content.

...not going to lie you make a hell of an argument.

It's not a surprise, basically every company (not just the gaming industry) does this. This game is not my life, i'm not going to cry about it, there's more important things to worry about.

Modificato da DocSmurf: 9/29/2014 12:09:26 AM
Criticism may not be agreeable, but it is necessary. It fulfils the same function as pain in the human body. It calls attention to an unhealthy state of things. -Winston Churchill.

Are you kidding me? Are you REALLY kidding me? It is BUNGIE, Myth, Marathon, HALO, ONI, These are not some first time developers, these are seasoned vets. We should hold them to a higher level of quality then we do other developers, this isn't their first triple A game. Hell this isn't their second or third. When Halo 4 wasn't what everyone wanted 343 was crucified, that was their first -blam!-ing game, yet its OKAY for Bungie to phone it in and not get called out for it, are you kidding me?
Someone missed their history lesson. Myth, Marathon, ONI pailed in comparison to scope and size. The production team was a few collage kids in a rented out space eating pizza and doing level design at the same time. Having "worked with a console before" doesn't mystically cut down on production time of a new engine. what do you think they did press copy and paste? Bungie doubled it's studio size on this game so drop the hardened veteran bs to. Bungie designing a new ip from the ground up with half a new studio is equally as difficult if not harder than 343i getting to jump into a prebuilt sand box, wright some halo fan fiction, and call it a game. you know what... I was going to respond to your entire rebuttal post and it struck me that i don't have the time nor care about your opinion enough to sit here and trade walls of china with you for the next week. i hadn't realized these forums shriveled up and died while i was away. Feel free to insinuate that i have no counter or that i am running away. I won't get the notification.

OMG ! A game changed from press event to release. Get over it :S While I agree if the content on these videos are indeed DLC it's wrong. But you shouldn't take press event demos to be like it upon release. Things change.

6 RisposteQuit complaining. The queens bounties more than made up for lack of content. I mean, the new missions were awesome.
