All your creepy-pastas have nothing on this.
So today I was watching some of the 'Steve and Larson Top 10' videos. And i came across 'most disturbing games.' #1 was GTA IV which was stupid. Out of them all, it was #10 that caught my eye. It was a game called, [u]I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream[/u]. It looked like a really horrifying game.
I googled it. Turns out it was based off of a short story written in 1967, in the midst of Cold War fear and the likes. Some quick searching found me the full text. And I have to say... I feel horrible. I genuinely feel like a terrible person, like something is wrong with all of us, just because I read this. I'm sad. Today has been a horrible day solely because I read this. Never before have I been more disturbed by a story, never has one made me sympathize with characters in such a way. I feel like I need to know someone else has read this.

I want someone else to read it. I want to know that someone else has read this thing. And I want to know if people feel the same way as I do. Terrible inside.

Fun fact: The book it's based on was written by one guy in one night, non-stop who was pissed at the entire world for how shitty people are to one another, and voices AM in the game. You can FEEL his contempt for people in his seething voice. It's amazing. If you do play the game, however, there are TONS of endings (both for each character and cumulatively) and there are a lot of "magic pixels" that require you to mouse over exact spots to interact with things.

That was intense. Like wading into scummy sludge. It was almost as depressing as [i]The Road[/i]. Read [i]The Road[/i] if you haven't already. It's by Cormac McCarthy.

I thought that was pretty poor to be honest. One of those things that tries to be overly emotional but just ends up missing the mark. Some pretty savage imagery though, and a brutal concept.

I just now finished watching a Let's Play of the entire game. Very different story, but it was entertaining and disturbing still. And it was still possible to get the same ending as the story.
