Hey everyone, Polygon.com will have an exclusive story on Bungie tomorrow:
"Polygon was recently invited to Bungie's Bellevue, Wash., headquarters for an exclusive day-long visit. We spoke with Staten, Parsons, award-winning audio director Marty O'Donnell, technology director Chris Butcher, studio manager Harold Ryan, Destiny sandbox designer Danny Bulla, Destiny interface designer Kevin McGinnis, community manager Eric Osborne, character animator Tom Sanocki, writer Eric Raab and more for exclusive, in-depth interviews on the culture of Bungie and the stress of following up Halo. You can read that feature this Thursday, Jan. 24, on Polygon."
This also begs another question. Bungie also invited Edge magazine for "an exclusive inside look inside Bungie". One can only assume that while there Bungie showed off Destiny. With multiple websites having been invited to Bungie studios, I think it is safe to assume Bungie had some sort of press day. Like most press days Bungie may have given initial announcement information, pictures, or a trailer for these outlets to release on a certain day (when the embargo is lifted). Embargos are usually lifted a week or two after the events. I'm expecting an announcement in February; especially since they are holding a GDC panel about the game, and I can't possibly imagine they wouldn't announce the game formally before that pan So Destiny information soon? What do you all think? This is my theory. Discuss!
UPDATE!
Here's the article! Enjoy!

>Posted January 2013 >"Embargo almost up" Although, to be fair, we do know more about Destiny now than we did then. Not enough to fix what happened to #Destiny, but hey. Casualties.

arise chicken!!

If this is true, we would be getting info on "Destiny" before the start of GDC and that would be awesome, sometimes these workshops can be very vague in details and (for obvious reasons) be more focused on tech and programming methods and general trade talk. Cannot wait.

That was a great article. It makes me want to make it to Bungie some day.

This was a great article. Highly recommended.

Modificato da sleepr: 1/25/2013 1:19:52 PMSo guys, at 3:16 on the bottom center... there is a banner with some letters and a symbol on it. Does anyone know what it's from? EDIT: Nevermind it's a patriots banner. lol

1 RispondiA great read, as was the Edge article. Good call on the press day. I thought it was a bit random for only Edge to get a look inside, and it's making sense now. There's no way they didn't reveal Destiny in some way while inside the building. My guess is that we within a couple weeks of an official Reveal. #stoked

4 RisposteIt will be cool to read those interviews, it seems that they're starting to get ready to announce the game. Hopefully it won't be long before they do!
-
How large is the web team? Contractors? Testers? etc I was hoping for more specific information.

4 RisposteI want to point something out here. My topic has over 80 replies; and was the first thread on the polygon article. Yet a thread with less replies on the article is on the top of the forum, and also has a blue bungie logo on the side signifying it's a hot topic...which this thread does not have...and it has more replies...hmmmmm this new system confuses me.

Nice article. By now, every little thing that sheds some light into what Bungie is doing is a good thing.

1 RispondiModificato da Quantum: 1/25/2013 1:21:04 AM
In 2001, Bungie shipped the original Halo, what many considered to be the most technologically advanced game ever made, with just 46 people. The team swelled to a modest 67 for Halo 2, and more-or-less doubled to 112 for Halo 3. Today, Bungie is home to approximately 350 employees — and growing.
Interesting.

This article so casually brings up the project title... it's like they are teasing us now. Has anyone ever considered that Jason Jones is almost scared and embarrassed by the success of the company? 13 years ago he was just a guy in some crusty Chicago building developing games for the Mac, now he is the leader of 350 people.

2 RisposteThat article kinda makes me proud. Hell, I'm not part of the studio by any means, but it's cool to say, "Hey, I've been a fan of these crazies for years." Just seeing how the studio operates now makes me really excited for Destiny.
-
2 RisposteIt was nothing new. It was mildly entertaining for anyone wanting to hear the ins and outs of Bungie, though.
-
That was a great article, I can't wait for the next official Vidoc.
-
1 RispondiThat was just as good as a ViDoc!
-
Great article. I'm ready for whatever Bungie puts out.
-
That was a great read.

3 RisposteOh cool, now we know that Bungie has an estimated 350 Employees. That's a jump :D This is a fascinating article, and I'm still reading. Obviously no Destiny Information, but it is very insightful as to the inner workings at Bungie.

I definitely imagine that the content of this article will be akin to the contents of the Edge Article. They probably saw Destiny stuff, but that Embargo hasn't lifted yet, otherwise we would see much more of a frenzy.
