If you use ad blocker to skip Youtube Ads you are screwing hard working developers out of their money.
People work hard to make videos for you to enjoy and if you really can't spare 15 seconds of your day then you need to make more time for your self.
Thieves.
-
I hate those ads because there is never anything good on them. I have blocked them.
-
Don't care. If they don't like me for having Adblock, then I'd recommend them getting a real job, not sitting on their asses all day recording pointless videos. Just saying!
-
The only time I have a problem with ads is when they take up my time or make noise. Silent image banners on the edges of the site (or at the bottom of the video) are fine with me. It's gonna suck when they develop ads that track your eye movement to confirm you actually watched them before showing the content you wanted to see.
Good, they have enough money and time for themselves for several lifetimes.
-
This is a non-issue. People are going to block ads as long as they are able to, and websites that use such ads should understand this.
-
Posted by: kil1ertomatog I actually agree. Just watch the god damn ad, you're seeing the video for free anyway. If Pirating and torrenting are gonna become illegal, adblock should be also.
That makes no sense. Youtube videos are free to start with and ad free. When the channel gets greedy and partners with Youtube, then they give Youtube the ability to put ads all over their videos. The ads aren't giving us the ability to watch free videos, the ads are giving the channel money because Youtube wants people to keep making viral videos so that it gets money from all the site traffic. When I'm on websites like this or Facebook, I have ad block on so that the ads don't look ugly on the page, I wouldn't have clicked them even if I didn't have it. [Edited on 08.09.2012 11:09 AM PDT]

I used to use Adblocker. The I felt bad for not supporting people like Rooster Teeth and Freddiew.
-
What if I use Stylebot instead (to hide the ads that appear on the right of YT search results, at the top of forums, etc.)? Afaik, hiding a page element doesn't stop it from loading? And I do admit, I've been using Adblock, though not necessarily for videos though. Edit: Hey wait a minute, there is a skip ad option! 5 second countdown. I never noticed this. Looks like I'll be keeping Adblock off on YT. [Edited on 08.09.2012 10:30 AM PDT]

I'm not a tard who clicks on ads anyway so I don't see what's so wrong with having ad blocker. Having the ad blocker isn't being a thief and that is the stupidest thing I have heard. When I watch a video and it skips the ad automatically, the person still makes money for it and I'm not getting any money out of ads so I'm not stealing anything. On another forum we go on I have the ad blocker turned off because when you click the ads then the owner of it makes like 5 cents and our owner is poor so he needs the help. When I use ad blocker, I'm not stealing anything, so how is this thievery?

Ads can actually be used to deliver malware. I've seen it happen many times.

Its not thievery to not watch something someone else has made I know you're trying to be clever, by thinking "Oh, they're technically thieves! AH-HA!" But its wrong. Thievery would be taking their video they made and using it yourself for your own profit

I use it on my Kindle Fire because, as a mobile viewer; the content creators wouldn't make money off of me anyways.

I installed AdBlocker because video ad's annoy me. If its an ad on the side or something then fine. But for real making me watch an ad about something that is irrelevant to me? now whose the thief? You can steal time.
-
Posted by: xGHOST270x I don't mind an Ad or two, but when a bunch of them start taking up serious real estate on my screen It's just more annoying than anything. Plus, I'd rather not sit through a minute long ad for a 30 second video.. *glares at Yahoo*
Sometimes my screen would freeze on Yahoo not allowing me to go to my email because of some stupid car ad that fails to load that will take up most of the screen when it does. OT: There is no way anyone is going to make me feel bad for using Adblocker. I use it so I don't have to spend time watching ads for things I don't even want to buy. I am not a 'thief' because I am not stealing anything.
