Is it me or does it seem the people in raids have gone mute. ( maybe a little shy)
By this I mean no mics and they expect to get everything done easily even on Master.
I know some players are very good and can do muted runs, but new or unsure players absolutely need mics, especially to do challenges or triumphs.
Get real people and buy a mics please.

2 RisposteModificato da LeluDallas MultiPass: 3/16/2026 6:19:42 PMtbh, I'd rather have the clueless noob with no mic, than the experienced player (or pair of players) who know what to do, but stay on mute the whole time, rushing ahead, trying to solo/duo everything, leaving the noob in the dust & causing multiple wipes cuz they're sitting in their own Discord, or cant be bothered to communicate with the "peasants". At least you can tell the noob to mic-up or get booted. "Sorry, this post says experienced required, you need to join a teaching post"... but when you say something about the experienced player causing the wipe, they'll suddenly use the mic to yell about how many clears they have, or how they duo'd this raid that one time... its way worse to me lol

Modificato da ODSTrooper: 3/19/2026 10:39:06 PMThis is not a new trend at all unfortunately and has been present for many raids now. You can bet most of these people do actually have mics (like who wouldn't if they call themselves a gamer) but just don't wish to use them for various reasons. My guess is some don't want to put up with the prospect of anyone possibly being toxic and so they opt out of using them altogether with strangers, or some have too much anxiety idk. On the other hand, maybe some don't even know English if much at all, or are in timezones where they have other family trying to rest given the time so these folks can at least be forgiven. I have no issues generally with some who are good players and kwtd without mics as you said, and rather simply dislike those who choose not to use a mic while expecting a carry with no interest to try and learn mechanics. This happened to me yesterday on a Witness CP I joined to help out on just for fun when I long have had everything done for that raid. But nobody was speaking/using text chat nor at all kwtd besides me, so I quickly left after we wiped and I still saw nothing changing and figured I might as well have gone and soloed it myself given how poor their builds were too meaning I would be responsible for near all the DMG. To give another example, I once did a Last Wish raid with lfg before and no mics so it's definitely possible for most content as well as many others I have also done like VoG, RoN, or DSC, but things could have gone more smoothly/faster in some of these if people were just willing to speak even just a few words or use the text chat to the bare minimum (some won't even bother with the latter smh). I'm not really sure what could help fix this as it's more an issue with people themselves, it seems to me you're always going to just have some people who casually play games and whom don't try to improve at their gameplay, and won't accept anyone else telling them how to play. So I usually suggest kicking those that are inflexible like this and not pulling their weight.

17 RisposteDepends on the raid, stuff like VOG, Crota and even Kingsfall you really don’t need a mic, just emotes and having basic common sense lol.

13 RisposteModificato da Sen: 3/17/2026 6:20:39 PMI just wish people did raids without expecting to finish the raid in one sitting and have the act of learning the encounters as reward enough. Slowly but surely getting to the end week by week. This is something FFXIV does well. People will "prog" and get closer to completing an encounter/boss. If like-minded non experienced individuals had this mentality or if EVERYONE had this mentality, the raiding scene would be much healthier. Even WITHOUT mics

13 RisposteSkill issue, loved carrying no mics

Modificato da Toots238857: 3/18/2026 12:31:05 PMAre your other 30 clan mates not available to speak with, in a raid or dungeon? Are you joining games with others as host and not leaving, knowing they don't have a mic? It's hard to even find a team at this point in the game, much less worry about a mic. I can imagine people joining your game and not having a mic as you required, but seriously.... Is it that serious? Maybe you should "get real" as well.

1 RispondiMics. I hate errant apostrophes.

4 RisposteI'm not much of a Raider. More of a 'Raid Encounter Specialist'. There's a handful of Raids I know 1-2 encounters masterfully, but that's it. And yet I have multiple patterns despite the lack of knowledge or completions for the entire Raid. That said, I have ALWAYS prefaced my groups with the following- If you don't know what you're doing- speak now or forever hold your peace. I WILL teach you and carry you if I know you need that. If you mess up a mechanic, own it so we can correct it. Nobody else needs to correct you, but you, but sitting in silence while the team continuously wipes because of a hidden individual mistake does us all no good. I am always willing to adjust the strategy or alter roles, but if one cannot own their mistakes, it's a futile effort for everyone. If you want to fake it til you make it, I will kick you. It will constantly throw the run and I'm not about wasting time. Most every encounter can be completed in 3-4 attempts IF your fireteam adheres to the above and makes a concerted effort to do their best and talk through issues.

Only time I don't mind no mic in a raid is when it's someone in my clan that I know will still be able to help and knows the raid well enough. If its lfg they better have mic or I'm kicking I'm not taking the gamble that they know what to do.
-
As a novice raider I always would want mics. I wouldn't join an lfg unless they had newbies, teaching in listing and mic required. Some might be understanding but why pretend and waste peoples time by joining and have no idea. I had one guy emoting so I emoted back lol. Wasn't why he was emoting.

I was in a vog LFG once with a full pug and no comms... We got all the way to gatekeeper with not a single word between... Only two wipes at Templar and got oracles on first try and only one wipe at gorgans maze... It was amazing... So raids with matchmaking can work it's just a matter of experience and learning... No different than figuring out how to make public events heroic... Rough at first yes but once it becomes common knowledge you don't need much communication... Then after that you go and LFG and clan up for master and contest raids... It's so simple and allows any player of all skill levels a chance to raid....
-
1 RispondiAlways been like this, nowadays it's a bit worse because the population is not very high.
-
I’ve noticed this too Players don’t know what’s expected from raids anymore.
-
2 RisposteMy favorite thing is when you make a listing that says mic required and 5 people join with no mics.

Modificato da Griever: 3/16/2026 11:11:02 PMLfg is dead Most matches in pvp have at least 1 cheater or a tryhards who plays as though they may as well be cheating Onslaught/ Challenge and other pinnacle ops are damn near impossible to do within their time limits without a pre-made team, and good luck with that without lfg I personally never cared for anything in the arena ops, not that there's much reason to do them when they give the same rewards as fire team and solo ops. And now people are staying muted in activities that REQUIRE communication? At this point, they need another complete overhaul of everything. Difficulty, matchmaking, weapon stats, available missions to matchmake, this game is a joke at this point and the only people laughing are the ones on something they shouldn't be.
-
I think anybody should know by now that it's cheaters that post for no mic.
-
If you make an lfg group, you can check if all the people got mic, if not ask them to get one or kick them out. If you join an lfg group, and people don't have mic, then leave the group. It's very easy.

Even Dungeons I believe mics should be common. A Raid with me noob squared? No way I knew what to do.

1 RispondiNot too many veterans of the game left, so we're left with blueberries and casuals.. They're shy🤣
