Cross Save Authentication
So I was trying to play on Steam (have like 1500 hours on Xbox) and I used to have my account linked to steam. Since then I went through a username and password change on Steam, and now I can't authenticate my Steam account. I was hoping to find at least some semblance of a solution, since in order to get it fixed the only solution that I know is to deactivate cross save and wait 90 days to reactivate it with the correct info. However, since I can't authenticate it, I can't do that. Is there any way to resolve this, or am I screwed here?

5 RisposteOn Bungies end they store the unique identifiers for accounts (XUID, PSNAID, SteamID etc). When you use the 'sign in as [platform]' option, they get a response from the platform containing various info that include that specific ID which they check against; if you're being told it doesn't match then the Steam ID they have stored is different to the account you're using to sign in with. Steam IDs do not change with username/password changes - they're permanently bound to the account itself. Can you sign out of Bungie.net and then attempt to sign in using the linked account? if it tells you to create a new account then you aren't using the one you have linked. You can also try your email+password combination as well as Steam does allow separate accounts under the same email which has resulted in the past of players making various accounts by accident.
