Like the title says, when will this happen?
I've finally completed moving my family to Linux, two desktops and several laptops are now running Linux so the only way I get to play Destiny 2 and the hand full of other games that aren't getting anti-cheat support is by using GeForce Now. I don't mind this for myself but that's expensive to have my whole family with four game accounts to do this, for now the other three will have to use the free version.
Why on earth is this not being support, it's appears to be as simple as an anti-cheat issue and Battleye works and is supported on Linux, there's even an additional Proton support package for it just like Easy Anti-Cheat.
When will this be possible, it is an absolute blast playing Destiny 2 on the Steam Deck. Steam Deck compatibility can not be ignored by the industry an further, please make this happen!!

1 RispondiBungie has said in past.. never. They do not wish to support Linux as an OS. Also, Battleye isnt the only anti cheat they use and supporting a new OS platform is more than just anticheat, all which comes and an expense that is unlikely to be offset by the anyone switching to linux.

2 RisposteSteam deck/linux has a negligible share of the overall gaming industry/market. I’m sure that when the time comes that steam deck/linux gains a high enough market share and it becomes profitable, rather than a drain on dev and support teams, Bungie will be all over it. Until then things will remain as they are.
Why on earth is this not being support, it's appears to be as simple as an anti-cheat issue and Battleye works and is supported on Linux, there's even an additional Proton support package for it just like Easy Anti-Cheat.
Because BattlEye on Linux is implemented solely as a userspace shared object as opposed to it's Windows version which uses a kernel module. An entirely userspace AC is trivial to bypass on Linux. Yes, some games this is enough depending on how much authority the game client has in those games. In D2 the client has a lot and the risks of such an AC are too great. If Linux support were enabled someone (heh) would have working cheats on Linux within a few hours.
