I wasn't even expecting some long detailed extensive post, but they couldn't even just give a timeframe for their when their supposed roadmap would release that they promised months ago. Honestly at this point its just sad and pathetic.

They probably have nothing to report because they are waiting for one of the competent developers to come back from Marathon.
They probably have nothing to report because they are waiting for one of the competent developers to come back from Marathon.
They’ll only ever talk if they have something to sell. They’re gonna coast along ignoring all of you until there livestream in February so the can be all flashy and drive pre orders out of excitement. They do this every year. Literally every game “core” feature. Like Fireteam finder, shooting range etc. all only ever spoke about on stream to sell people along even though they’re just QOL updates and free. It’s just painful at this point. There’s nodody left to be excited. I literally made this my main mmo years back and now I don’t even log in. Would rather play arc raiders. Didn’t mean I wanted a whole -blam!- mmo expansion to be a Star Wars extraction shooter. They’re lost af

Hmmmmmm I wonder what happened

Modificato da xbroggiex: 1/8/2026 7:55:44 PMThat would work if they have substantial content to show at these reveals. But considering we know what to expect from current Bungie it ain't going to work this time around, we are paying the same amount for considerably less content. They also aren't going to be able to use ambiguity of "codename frontiers" to sell the following year. Nothing can really convince me at this point of even thinking about buying into the following year unless the expansions are Forsaken sized and they also put all the old content they stole back into the game and even then that might not be enough.

I won't be surprised if there's even less content than renegades for the next DLC and the price stays the same

They should've kept to the annual expansion formula. Considering these "major updates" are basically like 2 activities and some new loot the winning formula while getting rid of seasonal fomo story would just be Annual expansion -> Major update -> Edge of Fate/Renegades sized expac -> major update -> annual expansion. But none of this matters now. Bungie should just hurry up and put out that supposed D2 classic so I can play that until they go under.

I’m done being spoke down too. “Game dev is hard” “we can’t do forsaken every time” Well you could at least try! Since shadowkeep onwards I’d argue they haven’t. Not until final shape. That expansion felt like the bar for a “yearly expansion” cycle. Then to downsize again? And keep it similarly priced is insane. Forsaken upfront had the most content of any expansion. Final shapes year of content and seasons had the most content of any release. How do they expect people to be hyped with anything if it’s like this year

Modificato da xbroggiex: 1/9/2026 12:55:31 AMI genuinely think they downsized because they didn't want to do seasons anymore. Seasons were not getting a lot of players to begin with unlike expansions, but since they need to fill gaps in the content schedule they just decided to split an expansion into two different ones. Added together they might about add up to the same as an annual expansion in terms of quantity but the quality is definitely leaving something to be desired. Its why they lean so heavily on the portal and all these little events to fill the gaps with just random loot grinds rather than actual narrative, quest and activity content. When they first started talking about Codename Frontiers I honestly though they'd basically do a Warmind/Curse of Osiris sized expansion twice a year and between that we'd get ITL sized updates like they said and that would come with updates to legacy content like updating old dungeon/raid loot but what they really meant with that is that slices of dungeons would be put in the portal and drop pinnacle ops loot. Then the reveal came around and they said these expansions are "a bit bigger than Rise of Iron" and that could be further from the truth when both are about on par with an Episode or worse. The expansion content they are offering is simply not enough and they only really sold this year based on ambiguity but now that we know what this model entails its done for if they try to sell the same amount of content.

Amen to that. At this point I actually question whether they even know what QoL is.
