Only 3 maps so doubt it's worth it.

It is in fact a psychological thing... it's called decision fatigue having too many options can lock up your brain... having too few options can lead to dismissal... It's been actively studied and implemented... For example there's always two coffee shops two chicken places two burger joints two pizza parlors cuz if there's only one option and it's not what you want you're more than likely to keep going and find something else if there's two or three options you're more than likely going to pick one out of the set because the human mind is naturally lazy and we'll try to minimalize work or streamline it by nature and will make that compromise... when there's too many options it bogs you down and then you're more than likely to choose nothing as the decision and filtering the different options in bulk generates more work for the mind it's quite the interesting condition... And is actively exploited in marketing video games in other fields to get people to purchase or use specific things by specifically limiting the options to one good thing and a couple of mediocre things as a way of manipulation or exploitation

Just make it pick a random map by default and give players a vote to veto one they don’t like. Worked fine for halo.

Never played Arc Raiders, won’t ever play Marathon, but I do concur. Every game where you’re intended to replay levels should have a random button. I’ve had many days where I’ve wanted to play Crystal Chronicles, but with maxed out characters I don’t need to go to any particular dungeon and so I just have no idea what to play. It sucks. Also Bungie doesn’t come to Offtopic.
