Hey everyone,
I’m new to Destiny 2—my roommates recently convinced me to try it out, so I downloaded it on my PS5. When I launched the game, it showed me some legacy info from the original Destiny on PS4 (which I hadn’t touched in years). Then I got to the character selection screen, but none of my characters loaded. When I tried to log in with one, the game just went to a black loading screen and then kicked me out with error code BAT, saying I was disconnected from the servers.
Since then, I’ve tried just about everything I could find online to fix it:
Reinstalled the game
Cleared the PS5 cache
Switched between Wi-Fi and Ethernet
Port forwarded the necessary ports
Turned off my firewall
Even tried all of the above again on PC via Steam
Despite all this, I still get the same BAT error, while my roommates—who are on the same network—can play without any problems, on both Wi-Fi and wired connections.
At this point, I suspect the issue might be related to my old Destiny 1 data or my Bungie account integration, especially since the problem happens across both platforms.
If anyone has dealt with something similar or knows a way to reset/refresh the Bungie account connection properly, I’d really appreciate the help. I just want to actually play the game!

2 RisposteWhile it may not be ideal, have you tried deleting the character(s) and creating new one(s) in its/their place?
