Rather when you initiate a Ritual for a given reward the Tome will display a progress bar; said bar gains progress by completing Activities (not limited to Episodic content) as well as for defeating Powerful Combatants and Guardians. Upon filling the progress bar you will receive a drop that falls within the category specified by the Ritual you enacted; said reward will be accompanied by an icon of the Tome of Want in your loot feed as an indication that you have used a charge of your enacted Ritual. This reward is [b]guaranteed[/b] to fall within the parameters of the Scriptures [i]you have slotted into the Ritual[/i], be it the general category of a group of weapons or Armor set or specific items. - That said it is [u]very important[/u] to be aware that before spending the required [b]Essence of Desire[/b] to enact a Ritual you should double check that you have [i]properly[/i] slotted in the intended Scriptures. When you attempt to apply a [b]Crumbling Scripture[/b] to the second slot in order to guarantee a [i]specific item[/i], you will be consuming one stack of that particular Crumbling Scripture; [b]Crumbling Scriptures are a finite resource.[/b] If you try to slot in one for which you have zero stock, the Tome will instead spend [b]Sigil Shards[/b] (generally 100) from your reserve in order to create the Crumbling Scripture for you. [u]This newly created Crumbling Scripture [b]is not[/b] automatically added to your Ritual.[/u] After you have clicked to [b]create[/b] such Crumbling Scripture that you didn’t already have on hand you will then need to [u]click again[/u] in order to [i]actually apply it[/i] to the Ritual. Assuming you are working from the proper understanding that the Tome of Want grants guaranteed drops whenever the Ritual Progress Bar is filled (rather than influencing RNG drops), if you have been receiving items you were not expecting whenever said bar fills completely, I would suggest it is very likely that you are merely [i]creating[/i] Crumbling Scriptures to be used in the second slot without realizing you have not actually [b]applied[/b] them before activating the Ritual. This can be easily verified when/if it occurs by simply viewing the second slot of the currently active Ritual; if it displays the default “Crosshairs” icon then it should be clear that a Crumbling Scripture was not applied before enacting the Ritual. almost everything in this game is a slot machine until crafting then the new maintenance team took over and immediately got rid of crafting cuz it reduces grind time, and went back to more slot machines and 'focusing' slot machines they also added the new gimmick consumables grind that seems to be their new thing for every season now this team just manipulates the players, they treat the players like an ant farm, they will keep pushing boundaries of what players will endure. Designing to entertain isn't their priority. All they do is stare at metrics and have very little connection to what is actually fun. This is standard for a declining live service nowadays. Stripmine the playerbase. Return as little player value as possible. Make sure the player hate the franchise by the time it burns out.
