One of the classes I’m taking this semester is learning CAD by using Solidworks. I think it may be my favorite non EE class I’ve taken so far. I’m hoping that by the time I take the certification exam at the end of the semester I’ll be able to 3D print a full scale guitar or a sword. I wanna do a trick weapon (saw spear or raykuo) but I think if I were to do a Bloodborne weapon I’d do moonlight Greatsword cuz I have no idea how to get the switching functionality to work. Guess I’ll leave that to Yharnam Workshop lol.

Modificato da ACROCANTHUS: 9/24/2024 4:07:54 PMCAD can be very useful depending on what job you get. I use Civil3D pretty much every day.

CAD is super fun! My job is on the CAM side of things so I don't really use SolidWorks but I'll mess around with the CAD part of BobCAD from time to time. Sometimes it's nice to visualize the part I'm making.

What are you guys talking about, I want to understand but I can’t.

SolidWorks is super fun! I used Siemen’s NX for my classes, but then I joined Formula SAE (if you know what that is), and they use solidworks. CAD in general is just very fun.

Solidworks was fun while I was in college. I'm rusty on it now though, since it's been 3 years since I've been in college, and I still haven't found a job in my field.

I could not wrap my head around CAD to begin with, I'd need a class that costs a couple thousand to use CAD.

4 RisposteAre you like an engineering student or something? For a sawspear, I could see it being printed. But I'd want something like a metal 2-way version of the liner lock (like on a pocket knife). Is the friction from a scaled up liner lock enough to hold it closed so that it doesn't need to lock both ways? Could we not also scale down the saw spear a little?

4 RisposteGood luck. How is solidworks? I've only used autodesk fusion
