Hot take, ammo transmats are better than current crucible
I honestly just think that it was better than spawning with ammo every time.
Imo theres way too much special in the crucible right now.

2 RisposteWay too much, agreed. Players are maining Special again. Scrub central. Way too much focus on crates as well, disrupting flow. One approach I've not seen mentioned - what if players received an allotment start of match and that was it. No crates. No earning. No drops on kill. Everyone on a level supply play field and no advantage to good players snowballing. Reduce the on field supply. Use at your discretion. Don't know what sort of percentage would work. Maybe a 5 round cap in 6s = ballpark 20% - 33% of 150 point total for these OHK weapons. A 3 round cap in 3s...... I dunno.

7 RisposteSpecial ammo is in a weird spot right now. It feels amazing if you’re shotgunning and horrible if you’re snipping. (which is good for high level pvp but horrible for 90% of the player base) I don’t mind less special. It just sucks because in high level pvp this game is completely garbage and less special makes the game even slower than it already is but that’s a radar problem and not a special ammo problem.

I think just get rid of the crates on the map or greatly reduce their uptime. The old meter system allowed for insane snowballing. Spawning with at least one shot ensures that you are always on a somewhat even playing field when you spawn. Getting rid of crates ensures that players can’t get more ammo without getting a primary kill or dying which seems fair to me.

I quite like the current system for sixes at least. I still don’t understand why they insist to implement crates - I don’t don’t think they are a good addition. Why not just spawn in with one and an empty special meter

Bungie's been jumping around ammo crates, transmat, and primary only drops. When they do transmat people complain how little there is (Not just casuals either), with crates people complain how it ends up like D1 where 90% of the match is sitting near the special crate unless heavy is about to spawn, and with the primary only spawns people complain there's too much.
