Can We Have Revelry Back?

IMO, Revelry was far more fun than Guardian Games. The Tower was adorned with gorgeous blooms of flowers and lights, the events you did actually rewarded you with weapons and armor you didn't have to spend bright dust or actual cash (silver) on, (rewards you couldn't get any other way than doing that specific event, either) and we didn't get like 30 of the same item over and over and over and over again. I have been getting 3-4 Titles per medal drop at the Tower every single time I drop them off. Yup, I can dismantle them for shards and glimmer, but I don't care about that. It's become a repetitive and boring grind that, after the first week, looses it's excitement (if it even had any to begin with). Why can't we earn the special event armor and weapons through the activities anymore? I'm tired of everything being payblocked. If I can just go into EV and buy the outfits and items, what's the point of the event? I have no reason to want to play for anything. If I can get multiple copies of the ONLY new weapon offered with only one drop of the medals, why am I grinding for three weeks? I LOVE this game and the world, and it was AMAZING the way you guys used to have things. PLEASE, Bungie, consider bringing back the holiday events as you used to have them set up. Even if you need to tweak them to fit with new maps because old ones are gone, that's fine. But this grind with poor or multiple copies of the same rewards, and everything that you used to offer as rewards now being stuck in that damned Eververse Store needs to change. I was buying stuff from there but I've just gotten so sick of it. If I'm playing the game, I want to get the rewards through my efforts and enjoying the game itself, not just pay for it. It has no meaning that way.

  • It was literally just a reskin of infinite forest. It was terrible.

    • Stylistically I liked Revelry a lot better then this faux class competition of GGs. Revelry celebrated spring, renewal and I remember the tone to be generally light, hopeful and fun. Also liked the decor and it had Arbalest which was very unique at the time, still is really. First GGs was an attempt to be relevant with the olympics just around the corner. Then COVID hit, the olympics got canceled/postponed and GG just sorta stood there awkwardly. Not to mention all the stupid Destiny class hate that gets just amplified by GGs every year. Though I do like the experimenting with the GG strike list this time around.

    • They’re both bad. I would rather have nothing than either of them.

    • The infinite forest was boring, but everything else was ok. Way better than gg.

    • Revelry was easily the best event in D2. Gorgeous aesthetic, interesting and fun mechanic (ability spam everywhere!), and it’s own activity (while certainly not perfect, I personally found it pretty fun and something they could’ve expanded upon). Many of the issues with Revelry were straightforward fixes. Simply don’t allow the ability regen buff to apply in Crucible (maybe make its own Crucible playlist where it does or have Mayhem up all event long) and make the glows we earned permanent ornaments. Guardian Games as a concept fundamentally breeds toxicity, resentment, and apathy. It doesn’t feel like an event that’s meant to be fun and engaging when it’s claimed by the losers to be rigged every event (regardless of how fair that criticism is or not, I will not be stating my opinion on that matter). Pretty much we got rid of one of the best, most aesthetically beautiful and engaging events for one of the worst, most hated events.

        • Revelry was the best event in D2. It just brought so many things to the table, including Arbelest

          • Revelry had an armor to gain because back then that's how events worked .... If revelry would to come back no armor would be there to be gained but 1 to be sold
