I've been thinking this for a long time, many years in fact. Why don't raids get event currency/resources but public events do? It seems a bit ridiculous that the raiders don't get even 1 thing (during the dawning we got 1 or 2 essence for raids but public events gave 15). I feel like its something that gets overlooked, but I personally spend more time in raids than any other content, this is because I teach raids for free to the community. As a result, my teams and I noticed that we fell much further behind than our friends while events were active, because we got minimal or no event resources.
This isn't a huge deal, but I figured I'd post about it in hopes that Bungie will maybe look into this for future events. Thanks.
Edit: apparently nobody understands what I mean. I don't mean raid based events, I'm meaning I wish the spectral pages would also drop from raid encounters. You get 5 for a strike, 3 for a crucible game, and 2 or 3 for public events. I just thought it would be nice to see 2 drop per raid encounter, making a full raid drop a total of 8-10.

7 RisposteWhen they make master raids a mindless ungabunga xp grind yea, not a lot people do it
-
1 RispondiBecause knowing Bungie they would mess the drop rates up
-
7 RisposteSolo kids don’t raid Solo kids make up 70% of destiny game. You know the game that’s “better with friends” 😂
-
3 RisposteAccessibility is the key. More people will play the event as a fireteam of 3 with solo matchmaking than would likely be possible with a raid group of 6. And this doesn’t even take into consideration duration and length of the activity.

18 RisposteVery few engage in raids. From my experience, it's justified. 🤷♂️
-
8 RisposteIs this really that big of an issue?
-
7 RisposteBecause 3% of players complete them.
-
6 RisposteBecause most of the events require you to wear at least one special piece of armor, taking up slots and messing with proper loadouts.
-
3 Risposte10% play raids? And nothing seem to be done to increase that, so the focus would be to little for events. Why not include dungeons and add able to play with randoms, it's content people can do solo even flawless.
-
12 RisposteWhy spend time fixing up a raid for an event for 5% of the player base to see it? Doesn’t make sense

It also seems ridiculous that non-raiders (the vast majority of the community) don't get at least a small amount of them while playing other activities, at least to help them get the raid exotics from the Monument to Lost Lights, even if it takes months of playtime.

It is quite astounding how many people read what he’s said and either totally miss the point, or accuse him of saying things he didn’t say. Man, this salt mine lives up to the stellar reputation it has. 🙄
-
1 RispondiIt is strange how many people seem to be mad about such an innocuous post. Like yeah raid encounters should probably give a decent amount of event currency, but don't for some reason?
-
3 RisposteBecause solo players can't play Raids without others. And if Trials is any indication, Bungie is really trying to push solo players.
-
3 RisposteI think it's so that players don't think "I must do the Raid because it's the best source for event material". It's still hilariously low and should give at least normal rewards. My teams often made fun of it in the past. "Hey look, I just completed this Raid, flawlessly, and all I got was five Candy and a Helmet." Good times lol.
-
1 RispondiNot just during events. Raids got capped their title as top endgame activity a while ago. Not just that bungie removes their pinnacle capabilities each new major expansion or when a new raid launches, but also how much raid spoils you could get per encounter and dissabeling the ability to farm the raids for spoils (if DSC is your favorite raid fE). Raids need and should get an overhaul same as in destiny1 year 3 with new ornaments and generally stuff to go for. They should also bring back all raids they dcv'ed with new rewards. But as always maybe too much to ask for from bungo.

6 RisposteRaids are difficult for players without first clicking on "totally-not-Bungie-favored" youtube channels. Listen for a sound - look for a light - click to shoot really fast -jump exactly this way-----oh but not there--- because of obscure reasons. "play your way" is pandering BS. Actual players with audio, visual, or reaction-time issues are cast by the wayside. I have been helped out by some very kind people on Bungie/Discord. NEVER did race/-blam!-/favorite pizza topping matter at all.
-
no, not always. At this point, either, players are trying to get a specific loot drop or they aren't raiding because they reached max light by now.
-
1 RispondiA lot of whining in here, but OP is right on point. There is no reason why an endgame PvE activity should not be awarding event currency / materials. Many of you are completely missing the point being asked for here. OP is not saying that the event should require the raid, OP is just asking for fair progress for materials/currency through playing the raid, which I am 100% for. Let people play what they want to play, you should be able to progress the events by doing so.
-
2 RisposteMy God, so much salt just because the guy wanted some pages for doing raids. No wonder I play solo.
-
Probably because raids are a group activity without match making and a lot of players never do them, whereas public events, core play lists etc are available to anyone at any time. I do agree with you though, all activities should give reasonable amounts.
-
3 RisposteI think the difficulty involved should drop more than normal activities,Clearing a raid should drop 1000 candy, and 20 pages, and I am being conservative I loved how Solstice got people into the raid and dungeons, the more they act like raids are apart of the game and tie it to other activities, the more people will engage with them
-
Good point. They should be included.
-
1 RispondiWe are never thought about. Something to get used to.
-
1 RispondiNot a lot of players want or can run raids, either people are WAY too demanding about gear or they just don’t have the time to.
