Yes I got banned for it. Yes Bungie bans cheaters, but not the blatant ones for some reason as I'm sure we've all seen the ones going around with infinite ammo and wallhacks.
I wanted to compete, but I didn't ever think I would get the skill needed to actually do so. I cheated for three months, stopped for 5 or so to develop skill, but then fell right back into my usual shit for another month. I was banned last week, and it took me time to come to terms with it. I'm going to miss the community, and the amazing gameplay, and the incredible story, but I deserved to lose all the time, money, and effort I put into the game. Well, the effort within those 4 months of not cheating, anyway. The rest of it was more or less the computer playing the game for me. I've lost more than 2500 hours, several achievements (from the 5 months) that I was proud of , and my Steam profile has a permanent red mark of shame. This game has been the one thing keeping me going through everything - not that it's important, but things have been rough the last couple years, and Destiny 2 was my anchor. I risked it. I didn't understand the gravity of the consequences.
I "-blam!-ed around and found out", if you will.
I'm sorry for ruining the fun for everyone. I'm sorry for contributing to the already disgusting cheating problem, and I'm sorry for not only cheating but trying to hide it from everyone as if it wasn't even happening.
I'm not looking for sympathy or forgiveness. I'm not even gonna look at any of the replies - I just want you to know that I'm sorry for what I did, and I sure as HELL won't be doing it to any other games. Not even singleplayer ones.
-----------
Also side-note, Bungie IS doing something about the cheating problem, even if it's slow; it's just faster to create new accounts than it is for Bungie to manually review every single report. Give them some slack, they're doing all they can.

5 RisposteModificato da michael: 8/18/2021 9:22:22 PMI hold nothing against people who cheat in this game. Its annoying but there is literally no reason not to. If you match a cheater and get annoyed about losing to them, whats stopping you from doing it yourself? Nothing at all. I stick it all to the devs for not caring.

Imagine cheating
-
2 RisposteIt’s better to fail and play legit than to cheat and win It doesn’t matter if you win or lose, it matters how you play the game.
-
Too many, just like you. Sorry doesn’t cover the gaming experiences you took from others who honestly played. No remorse for these people, at all.
-
Well, it's good to see you taking responsibility for your actions. Most people who cheat knowingly and purposely will either deny it or blame someone else.
-
Mad cuz bad
-
-
Just a reminder that cheating gets you nowhere in life- I’m glad you learned your lesson If you want to get better at something, it takes practice, but it sucks to see you felt obligated to cheat simply because others were
-
4 RisposteWill you make a new account and start fresh?
-
Not gonna lie you definitely deserve the ban.
-
Are you sorry for cheating, or are you sorry because you were caught cheating?
-
3 RispostePffft pull the other one. You're not sorry for cheating, you're sorry you got caught.
-
You’re not really sorry you cheated, you’re sorry you got caught. There’s a difference. If you didn’t get banned you would have kept going.
-
1 Rispondi"I "-blam!-ed around and found out", if you will." At least your owning the mistake, I'll give you that.
-
Well I don’t know why you thought it was a good idea to begin with, your ban is justified even though you knew the stakes. But you apologized so I’ll give you a good pat on the back and say “live and learn, my friend”
-
4 Risposteas annoying as cheating is it's always sad to see a fellow guardian go. remember folks, hate the cheating and not the cheater. even though his actions are a stain on Destiny he is still one of us, farewell guardian.

I want to be good at the game, too. But, I'm not willing to cheat to do it. It's a character flaw that you will have to fix the hard way. Taking the fast, easy way out will get you nowhere. Sorry to say it, but I'm glad you got caught and I'm glad you got banned. Bungie doesn't deserve slack on this. It's been going on too long and the game is ruined because of it. Cross play is going to be a nightmare.
