Destiny is your famous game. I mean no hate when I say nobody cares about “Matter” (Bungie’s new project.)
Destiny is tanking, pls put more work and effort into the game everybody loves. Not some project that’ll never replace Destiny as it did Halo (for some people)

There is a good point here, as much as I think the request is silly. Anyone without brain damage should think long and hard before investing a penny in Matter.

I don't care why (COVID, bloated code, developing other projects). Those "reasons" are excuses. Just like just about any other real world business out there, either you get the job done or you don't. Ever since Activision pulled Vicarious Visions after Opulence was done, my opinion is that they've been falling into the don't category. As poorly as seasons were first received, most of the players I talk to would be more than happy to have those back over what we have now. I'm sure when Bungie rolls out next season teaser tomorrow, most of us will forget we're not happy. If they've been consistently good at one thing, it's hype. That advertising team deserves a Clio award or something.

16 RisposteI see Kelly has engaged in one of his text wall replies... while saying nothing of merit.. Do not forget this is the man that said player numbers have been amazing for a six year old game (without sunsetting note) And then said the only way the game can avoid death is by sunsetting... in the same thread...

2 RisposteHonestly how do people believe that Matter is even a priority rn? All these people are so confidently saying "they gave up on destiny they're prioritizing matter" How would you know? They got 100m all the way back in 2017 and NOTHING else, we don't even know if that would've fallen under Activisions ownership since at the time Activision owned Bungie, when Bungie split we don't even know if they got to keep the rights to "Matter" since they ONLY took the rights to Destiny with them. If they DID get to keep Matter, we don't even know if it's a game or if it's still something they're working on. Even if they are working on it, bungie has said already that D2 is being supported for a while now, we already have two DLCs lined up, as well as bungie saying they only intend to release a new IP by 2025 AT LEAST, though that was said BEFORE they announced that they're planning on working on Destiny for the foreseeable future. We already know that the CEO has said they WANT to be a multi franchise studio, but given their current situation and struggling to deliver content without High Moon or Vicarious Visions (rip) I'd say there's no chance they're dedicating the team to anything but D2 right now, that is if they want to ship three seasons a year. I just don't understand how people can say "they're working on matter" with such confidence when the only evidence we have of the games existence is a filed trademark and an investment from NetEase with an extremely vague message about building new world's.

3 RisposteThe company that invested 100mil on bungie probably cares
-
Destiny was their famous game not anymore, nothing lasts for ever! This is D2....take it or leave it.
-
2 RisposteThey received 100 million and agreed to whatever it was tied to contractually so Matter is now their priority AND obligation.
-
7 RisposteOkay, I know the meme is to hate on Matter, but if it's a shooter and it's being made by Bungie the gunplay is about to be straight heat. I can't speak for the story or how it's gonna look, but that gunplay? Chefs kiss.
-
They're building 3 games, not 1. Bungie are famous for Halo, the destiny franchise is laughed at my all other game communities wheras halo is revered. Bungie want to clear the destiny stain from their image and the 3 new games are bungie only, with no outside influence, it's their future, destiny's done n once you realise, the better you'll feel

112 RisposteModificato da TheArtist: 2/1/2021 2:52:43 PM1. Not how this business works. Otherwise you'd never have any studio with more than one active game. 2. Matter is probably in pre-production. Which means that its only being worked on a small number of people, and those are mainly artists and future team leaders who are decidign what **kind** fo game it will be and what direction it will take. 3. Matter is not consuming resources that Destiny needs. a. The $100 million that NetEase invested in Bungie is more than enough to bankroll the game, and HIRE the people needed to work on it. b. The people that Bungie needs to create content and quality test it for Destiny, aren't being used by Matter. By the time you get to a company of nearly 1000 people, everyone has very specialized and clearly defined jobs. Bungie is not some 16 employee indie studio where people are forced to do multiple jobs (ala Hello Games and "No Man's Sky".) 4. The reason why Bungie is having this problem is because Activision wanted a cash cow. So Bungie was so busy running at top speed to create new content, that they never got a chance to fix any major problems, update any infrastructure, or develop new capabilities. Now that Activision is gone, Bungie is finally starting to address all these issues. TLDR: BioWare is about the same size as Bungie. Yet they are working on overhauling Anthem, and Developing two other titles at the same time (Dragon Age 4 and the next Mass Effect game )

7 Rispostehas anyone seen anything about this game? aside form the title

13 RisposteBungle has conveniently forgotten that the people they Screw over in one Game, won't be Customers in their next game.

5 RisposteModificato da xilxad: 2/2/2021 8:24:53 AMIt doesn’t “matter” what other games bungie makes, because of the way they have handled Destiny and Destiny 2 I will never buy them.

2 RisposteMatter could wind up being a great game. Right now, to me, it doesn’t, ah, matter. I dunno what light hearted and whimsical means, and I don’t give a fart in space about the cosplay aspect — just sounds like overwatch envy from where I’m sitting. The fact we won’t see Matter for at least 4 more years, and they’ve managed to kill any interest I had in Destiny to make it happen. I had ridden with Destiny and hoped would improve over time and actually realize it’s potential. And it had so, so much potential. Instead we get half baked reasons for bad fixes to the wrong problems. Instead of the D3 we needed, we got some absurd calculus of D=(D1+D2+/-sDCV)Qls... (where s= seasonal and Qls is the heat transferred in the thermodynamic process of Luke smith trying to blow hot air up my rear.... ) They methodically killed the game I loved in an attempt to mimic success they’ve seen in other currently popular games, and did it in order to make a game that I can’t care for because I’ve lost the faith of what used to be my most favorite gaming studio. So, so disenfranchised rn...

5 RisposteIs anything known about Matter? What kind of game is it expected to be?
-
Well it "matters" for the Chinese Market. That's where the money is and we all now that's the only thing what "matters" to them.😉
-
13 RisposteLooking at the journey Destiny has taken since D1 launch, I'm personally dissatisfied overall and have no plans to invest into another Bungie IP ever again. Generally I've been pretty turned off by multi-player games in recent years (the majority honestly seem to be cash-grabs and less about giving you a genuinely fun experience) so when Bungie are finished with Destiny, I'll be pursuing single-player games as I've realised that's my true passion.
-
Did you just say destiny replaced halo? Ha!
-
2 Risposte
Nobody cares about 'Matter'
Speak for yourselves. For all we know, Matter might be the best game ever. Until we know more about it, it would be stupid to dismiss it. Personally, I'm hoping Matter isn't another 'Games as a Service' game. Bungie are highly competent game developers, however 'Games as a Service' doesn't seem to be their fortee, since they obviously don't have the man power or resources maintain a game indefinitely. I think they are better suited to making games that have a definitive beginning, and end.
-
They have to make matter for that corporation that gave them money. The issue is they need to hire FAR MORE PEOPLE FOR DESTINY! They need more of the team working on the present game and more working on the expansions. TTK is my expectations for a $40 expansion as a customer. Bungie can argue they can't do that, but the customer at this point DOES NOT CARE. You want my $40? Make something that's worth $40.
-
1 RispondiBecause the only thing that sounds better than playing Destiny is playing some shitty mobile game developed by Bungo that's funded by a Chinese cash cow company.
-
Nobody Cares About “Matter.” Please Work On “Destiny.”
Wrong, just take a trip over to Reddit and tell me how many streamers won't jump all over that and take their followers with them. You underestimate how easy it is to convince players something is good when it actually is not. Look at how easy it is for streamers to sell these sessions for this company acting as if they are Vanna white from the Wheel of fortune, putting these "legendary weapons" out to be a lot more than they actually are? They will be all over it like flies on... to make that money. As far as destiny goes, it is too far gone to be saved with the limited resources put into it. Most know as you can read through your own post that D2 right now is nothing but a cash grab to fund their other projects, and it will never be anything more than that.
-
4 RisposteImagine if ANY studio had this attitude. We would still be playing pong lol.
-
1 RispondiYou can see by the amount of bungle replied tags, just how much bungle cares about this game
-
When you hit that slippery slope. Sometime simply climbing back up isn’t an option . Maybe a hard reset is needed and we are clutching at slippery ends.......

Not gonna happen. Their Chinese overlord bought a seat on the Board of Directors for $100 M and wants Matter to take priority over Destiny.
