Sunsetting is lazy and gets you nothing but going back on your word on letting us play how we want with what we want. You are just reissuing the same weapons with higher levels how on earth does that help anything other then pissing off your player base. Please dont do it and quit laying to your players, and finally keep your promise about respecting the time we put I to the game, and all the time we put into grinding for the rolls and weapons and materials we put into everything.
Please quit taking the easy way out of everything...

Bungie doesn't listen to the community. It's not that kind of a company. My suggestion: stop playing this game. It'll be better for your mental health. I mean, they listen to streamers. "influencers"? IDK. But I wouldn't say they listen. There's no conversation with the community like some MMOs out there. They, very occasionally, say they're listening and nerf stuff when people complain. But I have never heard of them reverting something to make it more fun, un-nerfing, saying they're not going to implement some bad idea because the community didn't like it, etc... They will just go ahead with it and ask for an apology later. Like Facebook. The only time they've listen was when they started bleeding players in Vanilla D2. They've lost players back then that have never returned. I used to be part of a clan where half of the player base left and never came back to Destiny. All because of this kind of attitude the game has where, like you say, they don't respect your time. They don't respect the player-base.

10 RisposteSunsetting is a necessary part of the design of every loot game. Loot gamers chase power. But if you give the player power forever you break the game. If you stop giving them power they get bored and stop playing. So the only way these games survive is by taking power away from you in one area and giving it back to you somewhere else. Something Bungie has clumsily been doing now for the last two years with serial nerfs.

1 RispondiKudos to you for understanding what's really happening here, and what's really at stake. Sunsetting has nothing to do with weapon or armor "power creep". It has everything to do with modifying player behavior to suit Bungie's purpose of maximizing player hours in a system designed to make you feel constant pressure of being under leveled, and having gear that is constantly expired/expiring. Every three months like clockwork, you lose power level, and your weapons take a step further into being useless for power level bound activities (which expands in scope with every new release). The latter phenomenon forces you to consider abandoning said gear for something that just dropped and the drain on resources for masterworking happens all over again (further reinforcing this contrived grind). The rationale that this is being done because things are getting "too powerful" asserts that weapon balancing has never existed in the game, which is ridiculous. Bungie has always had full control to reign in every aspect of weapon power, and that extends to entire archetypes. Weapon TTK has always been held to around half a second and barring any major change in game philosophy, should always remain that way with or without sunsetting. If this is about "power creep", why are weapons that are not considered overpowered being effected? If this about "power creep", why are currently meta weapons being released with exactly the same perks and new expiration dates? Bungie is setting a very dangerous precedent with Sunsetting. Under this new system, you are locked into a pretty high intensity grind every three months in PERPETUITY. Under this new system, you never really have time to enjoy the power level you worked so hard for. This is a slippery slope, and if you think that exotics will be forever immune, think again. Everything will eventually conform to this strategy. The vast majority of people that have lives, jobs, and families will never be able to keep up and will have to accept they will never be as powerful as they used to be. Regardless of your past or current time commitment, like it or not, you essential become a "casual". For those that can keep pace, I wish you the best for your ongoing mental health, as to play a game to the exclusion of all else in your life (what succeeding under this new system seems to require) is just not healthy. When you buy the expansion, you are supporting this direction for the game. I for one will not.

Also people may disagree but if weapons like recluse are so damaging cause of what they can be paired with why don’t they just make the pinnacle weapons all exotics? Honestly they are all strong enough to be exotics. Make them like the “Adept” weapons in D1 but allow you to still apply shaders, ornaments, and mods to them. It’d solve the massive issue of equipping multiple at once.

Bungie respects your money, more. And they hired Activision for Gaming Psychology, just as much, if not more, than other gaming value spaces to learn. Learn Behavioral Science for yourself (and yours) and learn how to better place these parasites, as the devolving coefficient-drags they are. There are better 'addictions'.

5 RisposteThis is just another one of bungies bad ideas that will fail and they’ll flip flop on like always. Like static rolls, they take away fundamentals just to give them back later as new content. Literally their business model I guarantee you sunsetting will be gone by this time next year

9 RisposteThese posts are so annoying 😂 just stop complaining

6 RisposteIf it gets rid of Mountaintop, and revoker I’m all in.
-
Correct. Bungie are devaluing there own game in a big way right now. Grinding for light level which is essentially a number is not content. Grinding for weapons and armour we already have is not content (sunsetting). Time is a precious commodity and this is how Bungie is treating it's player base. These are the are the reasons this is my last season. I have enjoyed the game on the most part since D1 launched and this is the first time I have not pre ordered . Enough is enough.

Ohhh nooooo I'm so sorrrryyyyy :(((

1 RispondiCasuals: We want new Stuff also Casuals: We keep using the same Stuff for over 2 years now
-
Bungo respecting time? -blue's -arbitrary "power" -glimmer cap -rare materials cap -powerful/pinnacle engrams in old content -core doubling cost spider -dust moved to bounties -etc....
-
They can't stop it now. Many of us have already deleted some of the guns that are being sunset, because vault space is sadly still a problem in 2020.
-
I will probably take a break from the game with the next expansion. Wait till it goes on sale, wait till all the bugs are fixed ( well somewhat ), and possibly the sun setting is removed or at least some of our favorite toys are returned.

My concerns stem from 0 void smg's carrying forward to yr 4 There are alot of loot vacancies and instead of choices we will be pigeonholed to play bungie's currated loadout. Along with champion modifiers which further pigeon hole you into playing bungie's way. Conclusion, year 4 will be the year of the currated loadout. This is my prediction. They would have to create so many weapons to fill in the vacancies and with there track record I really don't think they can do it.
bungie what happened to respecting our time. Was it just a lie...
Yes. Yes it was.
-
Yes it was a lie. So what? Luke smith is an under qualified out of touch orc creature that cant tell the difference between mmorpgs trading card games and destiny. Luke smith is the advisor of destiny’s decline.
-
Bungie: “It’s not you, it’s us” Also Bungie: “We care about all the players, not just the 1% that we listen to in order to nerf the shit out of exotics to make them just like legedaries they we create with only different names but sane stats.”

19 RisposteModificato da Quiet_Bushi: 7/27/2020 8:14:29 AMEhy Greatwhite444. I know that the Weapons Retirement has literally broke the community between those who don't like the idea and those who are fine with it. Both parts have their reasons. About this I was wondering: what do you mean when you ask to Bungie to respect our time? Why do you feel that your time is not respected? How the Weapons Retirement is giving you this feeling? I'd like to understand your point of view and maybe exchange some opinions about it. Thanks in advance.

2 RisposteI love only being able to use mountaintop idk bout u

4 RisposteThey’re respecting your time for an entire year. If that’s not long enough for you, then you won’t like how the real world works...
-
Lol Idiot Just play this game some more and don’t forget to buy all next expansions and season passes.
-
3 RisposteIt's really not that big of a deal.
-
You don’t play mmo shooters much do you
-
Your title sounds like a sad love song lol

Ok I am REALLY getting frustrated with you forums idiots. Reason 1: you choose to complain and annoy other people instead of making a decision “LORD BUNGO YOUR KILLING YOUR GAME” well are they, really? If this bothers you so much just quit and go away. but no your going to keep playing so stop complaining. 2: you choose to complain about the issue without fully understanding it. Yes I realize that losing your crutch mountaintop is going to sting a little but it’s about time people started walking on their own. If bungie DOESNT do this the game will stagnate and slowly die because they are being put in a position where if they make any action people will be upset but the when they don’t do anything people will complain and the game will slowly rot away
