The Handcannon damage dropoff is to hard! 110,140,150s are mid range weapons... but if u one meter behind the optimalrange, the damage drop kicks in and u need 4-5 shots instead off 3!
The new recoil animation is good on console, but the orher changes are to hard...no chance against pulserifles or other long to mid range weapons...

This is why Luna Howl had 45% of players using it for parts of Y2, because it was better than every gun at every range except super long (which PvP maps don't support). Hand cannon nerf is good. Use of of the other 500 guns available in this game.

3 RisposteDisagree, the previous hand cannon meta defied physics. A hand cannon should not out range a scout rifle etc its nice to see the change, I have noticed a far wider range of weapons been used since the change.

I dont think there is an issue with range. I think there is an issue with the range being where it is and bloom attached. No other weapon has bloom attached like hand cannons has. reduced range and bloom is a bit too strong of a nerf. When range came down bloom should have gone.

If you're trying to use a handcannon outside of it's intended range then just switch to a rifle instead... We all gotta be smart with our engagements during this season.

"Hey lets try using my shotgun to kill this guy using a sniper at the other side of the map" Same logic, if you want to use your handcanon against a pulse, close the gap and use your handcanon at its effective range.

This “adjustment” to HandCannon give a bit more space to other weapons as auto rifle,so in my opinion is much better to have a variety of weapons in pvp than a stale meta

1 RispondiThe reason that HCs got nerfed was because Spare Rations and Austringer could push in at 36 to 40 meters with no drop. Ace was at 34m and NF at 32m. Legendarys should not out perform Exotics. This is basically what happened in D1 when Thorn and Hawkmoon were blown back to the stone age and Eyasluna and Palindrome were the only good options. Ace now clocks in at 28 and a max range Spare rations or austringer clocks in at 31 m. Ace and Crimson should have been dealt the least. Probably from 34 to 31 or 32. Also making Ace with MM have dropoff was a good idea. But the worse part now is that they fall right next to erentils range since they only work short range and maybe mid with a max range HC

These changes are so bad that Luna’s howl is rumored to be a better weapon than not forgotten cause the range is almost identical but Luna’s having advantages in stability and handling make it a better choice. Way to continue to ruin the crucible experience. Let me take a nap with the scout rifle cause that’s the trash meta now

Honestly I was surprised at how hard handcannons were hit. I don't play PvP all that much, but I gotta say I hardly ever had a hard time from a guy using a handcannon. Should've seen my face when I pulled out my Nation of Beasts to feel it out only to see my range had been halved. If I got sidearm range, I guess I'll just use a sidearm this season 😂

That is kinda the point. I love handcannons and ground my b utt off for LH but the range at which they were effective was ludicrous.
