I for one will be surely disappointed if Garden of Salvation is not made harder through new and innovated mechanics that shake up the norm for a fight in a good way (not bad because we get Reckoning 2) but through the same tired formula and nerfs

      You're missing the entire point. There has been no reason to run anything other than WoR or Luna boots in raids since the launch of the game. They make encounters trivial. You talk about how you won't be able to 1-phase bosses anymore, or cheese Riven... Good! You shouldn't! Raids are SUPPOSED to be difficult. And Riven SHOULD be completed as intended. Gladd shouldn't be able to solo an entire raid encounter a few days after it comes out. Auto-reload mechanics BROKE pve. It was either nerf these or nerf every weapon we use for DPS. This is also great for making Whisper viable again. The only people mad about this are bad players that can't beat a raid without cheesing it or getting carried, which is easier when you can one phase. I hope they make boss encounters more creative too, but there's only so many ideas they can come up with... At some point, you're most likely going to be standing in one spot doing DPS. Which is why this nerf needed to happen.

      • With this news hitting the forums I am once again proven VoG's Templar was the best raid boss design. A nice gimmick to make it vulnerable, and actual requirement for mobility on other players' part to not let the boss teleport elsewhere to actually MAKE him stand in place and eat the dps. Consistent damage actually requires effort, unlike every other raid boss that just stands in place and rarely fights back.

        • Luna Wells made raid bosses a joke. Ghalran can be 1 handed, that's 20 million damage in 8 seconds. Scourge boss can be 1 phase shifted 22 million in 9 seconds again. Riven made to be a joke which was the hardest day 1 so far, argos 1 phased calus 1 plated. Like come on, remember the days where aksis was a 2/3 phase and that was with good weapons etc. The game is too easy I don't mind a bit of challenge and if its not a 1 phase that's ok you know, work for the 1 phase make it a acheivement not an expectation

          • Myself and some people in my clan were speculating about this exact thing. One of my clanmates has opened over 100 chests on last wish and finally got his 1K. He had taken a break but we were sure nerfs are coming and it will be hard to find non morons on LFG after the update. I would agree that snipers will likely be the go to. However I too hope they introduce new and interesting mechanics so that we're not back to a 2 gun meta game. Also I would find it interesting if they were able to sneak in swords being one of the meta choices again.

            • I'm all for this change personally. You didn't have auto reload abilities in D1 and no one complained that they didn't exist then. Rally and Luna make the game easier and needed changed.

            • Are you seriously crying over the fact that a raidboss is likely to not being 1-fased? In my opinion Raids should be hard, the end drop for completing it should be the thing people grind for. Whisper raid is flawed in the way today that noone runs the whole thing more than once. After that it's a grindfest for the last battle with heartrun to see if you get 1000 voices. How fun would Vault of Glass, Crota and the rest be if you could hit a wall and skip the whole thing to the end each time, and then some people won't even bother if it not possible to 1-fase the boss? We even have rally flags to make sure you stock up on all heavy, full supers etc. Back in the days you had to save some to the end battle, play smarter through the WHOLE RAID and NOT DIE because if you failed you would stand infront of the boss with no supers, no heavy and making it even harder. Todays raids is no harder than a strike you can solo, again a strike you would have to save ammo and use at the right time through the encounters. But the thrill, the exitement is gone and the fact that the worst thing that can happen after a failed boss attempt in a raid is to plant a new flag and have to do it one more time costing another 15 minutes of your time. I like the new idea of faster reload instead of unlimited bullets from reserves. Maybe Raids might become a challange again? It should be hard, it should cost.

                • It wouldn't surprise me at this point if that leak was true. Bungie's MO appears to find what players like about the game and then ruin it. It's beginning to feel like year one all over again. What's with Bungie telling players they aren't having fun the right way?

                • Hey all u casuals who r trying to comprehend this madness of reloading, there is this new perk called “auto loading holster”. U can stow the weapon for 2.5 seconds and when u pull it out again it will be fully reloaded. And during that 2.5 seconds u can do damage with your special weapon.

                    Rofl. Waaah. Ok emotional response to this silly post is done. Now for logical refutes. Did no one see this coming? Luke basically said this in his first blog post when he explained how they had to break all their own encounter rules in order to make the reckoning challenging, because of something insanely OP like well, which literally was all folks do for anything in the game. That's dumb and boring. We knew some sort of nerf was coming. Keeping a faster reload tied to well/rally is actually pretty lucky in my opinion. Folks complain a lot about any nerf, and rightly so most of the time. Bungie has had a history of nerfing things too hard into oblivion. That hasn't happened as much in D2. For once, this nerf is EXTREMELY warranted and needed. Also, as a personal anecdotal rebuke about lfg experiences... the majority of my lfg experiences are so bad no matter what anyway, so it won't matter. Usually, no one has well, or no one has spike nade launchers, or whatever it is. Luckily I have an amazing clan that has great sherpas and when I get to run with them we get it done every time. I highly recommend looking for an active group that plays during your playtimes, to anyone who complains about lfg experiences.

                  • Honestly, I'd welcome some more difficulty into the game, but there's just one slight problem with it. Things right now are simply too [i]tedious[/i] to make [i]difficulty[/i] work properly. A lot of developers don't, or can't, make the difference between the two... I'm going to stay neutral on this, because as long as it doesn't take literally 5-10 minutes to get to a DPS phase (Spire of Stars / Crown of Sorrow anyone???), it shouldn't be too bad.

                  • its mainly gonna be hunters now in PVE. just night hawks and maybe a titan with the new weapons of light but since debuffs no longer stack AT ALL you are better just running a tractor cannon or again a well of radiance with 5 night hawk hunters all with grenade launchers. and just saying titans were already very lack luster in PVE. this new nerf were buffs don't stack (so melting point is useless) and weapons of light is just another buff that wont stack but you have to weave in and out of a bubble. titans are THE WORST for PVE. i really dont see anyone running titans after this update for raid activities unless they want to be the one guy with a bubble. like just imagine NO ONE is gonna want to have more then 1 titan or warlock on a raid team unless they are REALLY nice. ultimately having more then 1 warlock or titan actually will now hinder you more for DPS phases, actually just punishing players who want to play any class they want in a raid.

                    • The biggest problem with this, if this is legit, is the fact that it won’t fix any problems whatsoever. Blitzing boss health bars isn’t really the issue with these loadouts, it’s the way bosses are designed. (Even in D1 infinite ammo DPS was a thing, remember Touch of Malice?) If everyone looks back on Oryx and Crota, DPS was tied to mechanics, not weapon damage. In Crota’s case you certainly needed a specific kind of weapon to down his shield (rockets usually), but for Oryx at least, one could honestly run anything as long as it kept you alive and you could kill Light Eater enemies quickly and efficiently. But now, many bosses are based on standing still and doing nothing while you shoot them full of holes. Nerfing Lunafaction Wells and Rally Barricades aren’t fixing the problem, but rather making it even less likely that people will return to or try out older raids, since they’ll be that much harder and less enjoyable. Let’s be real here, a newbie going up against Riven is going to have a good laugh at how one can destroy her health bar via the cheese. They aren’t going to laugh like that when they have to literally pull out a damn notebook to keep track of eye numbers and callouts.

                      • I happen to like Izanagis. I hope it never becomes meta because then Ill be called a scrub for using it all the time. Couldnt care less, but I needed an excuse to say that. Anyway, just play the game dude. Use what works. Thats it
