Crucible needs to be updated, it is (subjectively) the worst it has ever been for Destiny 2

Edit: fixed the title, , i love being dumb as bricks sometimes, or most of the time. - Some entire weapon class's are not viable, and take an extraordinary amount of extra skill to succeed in (Examples are Scout Rifles in general, Sub-machine guns that are not Recluse, Side-arms that are not 3-Bursts, Linear sion Rifles, Auto Rifles, ect.) - Maps that are short ranged have objectives that are also short-ranged, and / or long-ranged optional areas, making slide-shotgunning just the best option for most engagements - Every class has a super that can kill you twice with one activation, combined with super mods make most game-modes feel like Mayhem - Some Grenade's are completely outclassed in the crucible by others (You are NOT using a Voidwall grenade on a Sentinel Sub-class, you are NOT using a Tripmine instead of Swarm Grenades or an Incendiary Grenade, and Fusion grenades are almost always outclassed) - Some Exotics are either too powerful, or other options are just bad (You warlocks ain't going to use Verity's Brow, Eye of another World, and Winter's Guile; Hunters aint using Mechaneer's Tricksleeves, Young Ahamkara's Spine, or Lucky Rasbperry, and Titans aren't going to use Actium War Rig, Mask of the Quiet One, and Eternal Warrior, while NOBODY will use the Aeon Gauntlets)

  • Hey, I've been having fun with my friend with two Sweet Bussiness and Actium War Rigs. It's not something to scoff at. Though there is an excess of shotgun sliding. Maybe a slide cool down or sprint distance requirement is in need? Don't know. But I'm just having fun in quickplay.

      I use verity's brow and it is amazing when coupled with recluse or Luna or even a fusion which are meta. Eye of another world to me is better than verity's because the buff is always on and you have guranteed tracking for supers and invis. There are options but if you play meta than play meta but i anti and rogue so i many options while ypu only have 1. Complete difference of skill.

        But...I like Mechaneer's Tricksleeves.... Also I'm 99% sure it has secret passive buffs to Sidearm Range and Target Acquisition, something is off when I'm using that exotic.

        • I don't think you know what objectively means. Literally all of these issues have plagued destiny in some way at some point, some to a MUCH greater extent. Remember when autos ruled supreme in vanilla D1? They invalidated all primaries except vex mytho

          • its not going to happen. I 100% agree with you. I for one have used molesto since it came out and will never stop using it no matter how much it gets nerfed because i enjoy my setup (as well as the bs that is nezerac's sin with it) but i, unlike others, are ok with a setup change. the rest of the community that sucks at the game however are not ok with a setup change and will at every opportunity complain when what they have gets nerfed. Look at how long it took lunas to get nerfed. I dont see it used as much anymore because now it takes a shred of skill to use, something that these players dont have. As with exotics the only thing they can do is a) completely change the ones that suck or b) add in catalysts for them (something that i would love to see). and on terms of the energy weapon issue, well, they have to get nerfed. reduce range and damage on all fusions that arnt exotic, give shotguns one shot per life (or one per 2), and reduce sniper aimbot (pc dosent have this issue, but they have sooo many that are worse) and that should fix the game. tl;dr people will cry when they have to start playing with skill and you are going to have to wait till shadowkeep to even see a change, as activision is the reason why pvp is unbalanced.

            • I think you also forgot that matchmaking keeps putting solo players against 4 to 6-stack comp sweats. If that alone gets fixed, PvP will already be way better.

            • Crucible has always been bad. It always caters to a select few weapons depending on whats not nerfed yet. Spawning is terrible. Matchmaking is crap. The only way Crucible stays populated is Bungie adding Crucible modes to Quest steps.

            • Bungie trying to fix all of those issues would probably result in further PvP catastrophe. In all honestly I don’t believe they have anyone in the studio with the experience to service a quality PvP experience. There’s really no other valid reason as to why D2 PvP has been so incredibly bad since the first sandbox change. Their first attempt at balancing D2 PvP was a huge miss and they quickly fell into a hole that they couldn’t get out with further guesswork.

            • Actually, Actium War rig is great with sweet business, and bottom tree striker PLUS AN OVERSHIELD from Eternal Warrior is pretty scary, used that a bit during Iron Banner because I got one to drop and decided on using it instead of infusing it But other than that, I agree. I think the biggest change that needs to happen is map design, because scout rifles are difficult to use in most engagements, like you said. I still proudly rock my Jade Rabbit, nothing could stop that, but I'd be a lot happier with bigger maps, more options like Midtown and Distant Shore

              • Notwithstanding your lack of knowledge in what the proper use of 'objectively' actually is, I slightly agree with you, but not for the same reason. The weapons are largely fine, but the map designs are absolutely abysmal in comparison to D1. Nearly all of them are catering towards CQB gameplay, even if the map itself is fairly large, the layout is such that short-range weapons are primarily used. This is partly due to the initial 4v4 setup they had a hard-on for, but even though they dispensed with that, the maps are seemingly still designed for close engagements between smaller teams. Whatever open areas do exist in a map are watched over by snipers. Ultimately, unless you practice with a weapon type outside of the norm, most loadouts polarize towards hand cannons, smgs, shotguns, and snipers. Crucible is in a weird bad/good place in that if you choose to create a loadout that goes against what the map is better suited for, you're potentially gimping yourself, unless you're exceptionally adaptable/reactive to situations.

                I honestly don't have issues being killed by most weapons. Grenade launchers are the bane though. I hate them. I don't like using them. They take very little skill. Whoever thought it was a great idea letting us wield them in every slot needs to be shot. They never run out of ammo, can hit you across the map, splash damage kills you through walls. Everyone of them kills you in one hit. I wouldn't ask for a nerf because that just hurts everone. Bring all grenade launchers to powerful and put in the heavy slot only.

              • Completely disagree. I think it’s in a great place, and any meta is better than year 1, hands down. Maps could be bigger, and some things need buffing, but o see more variety now that I have in a long time

                  • Y1 MIDA teamshot meta was hands down the worst. I actually love this meta, aside from the supers, which I think need nerfed. Roaming supers should not be as tanky as they are for how many times they can kill. I've had strikers and spectral blades wash my entire team twice in one super, so they are the furthest thing from balanced right now. But, that said, I'm still having fun. P.S: Polaris Lance archetype scouts are actually very viable. It's just people wanna meta -blam!- with hand cannons and fusions.

                    • I disagree. Crucible feels great in terms of weapon choice to me. It's the fact that players will not deviate from tried and tested loadouts and certain reliable exotics. They've become particularly efficient with these loadouts as a result. That's what's bringing it down for some and that's because people imitate what others do, be it skilled players or streamers. More important issues are map size, spawn locations and matchmaking. We need bigger maps for 6 v 6. We also need them to lean on sbmm more heavily but still prioritise connection. and finally and most importantly - stacks should matchmake against other grouped players as a heavy priority before matching solos.
