Here is the bottom line for Iron Banner.
At over 2500 hours logged into Destiny 2, it is safe to say that I am not a casual player. However, the grind for iron Banner is very tedious and time-intensive, even with a dedicated team.
I want to do iron Banner because I enjoy playing Iron Banner and I don't mind working towards objectives even if it eats up most of my weekend. However, this grind for this particular iron Banner is in my opinion over the top. I want Bungie to respect my time as a player. I would love to play Iron Banner for fun instead of doing objectives where I'm forced to use different types of guns that I don't particularly like to run around with such as auto rifles and Scout rifles and other dumb weapons.
I really have lost interest in Iron Banner for the first time in Destiny 1 and Destiny 2. Why would I want to go and grind for armor that is going to come with random rolls and I'll be lucky if I get two or three drops by the time I get done with this ridiculous Quest on one character and never probably finish it on the other two characters when I can spend my time in a more substantial way inside the Menagerie getting multiple sets to drop on exactly the type of armor that I want and have a better chance of getting the types of roles that I want on that armor?
This, by the way, is exactly what is wrong with the Reckoning. I have no desire at all to go back into the Reckoning for any reason. Get together a fire team and hope that you clear the objective and get a chance to get a piece of armor that has a chance of getting the item that you want. I'm just done with it.
I'm not a hardcore gaming YouTuber. But I am a hardcore gamer when it comes to Destiny. And even this is too much for me.

I have been lucky that it came along as it gave me an opportunity to reset my Valor again Otherwise agreed its just a slog to try and complete gear bounties when your being decimated by Jotuns and wolves 4/10 for this IB

This is the same feedback people gave when the year 1 ornaments had requirements like grenade and super kills... that never bothered me, it just took a little longer to complete - but you could still earn armor. This doesn’t bother me as the quest is meant to be completed over the season - not in one night, but I understand why people are frustrated. I think the problem is that the totally standard armor is locked behind these quests, and that sucks. These quests, when completed, should give you a fully masterworked set, with enhanced perks on each piece, and the same element. That would be worth the grind. Reckoning is easy as hell now that we are all over leveled, I don’t understand any complaints about it. I did like 15 games with randoms last week (the knights...) and cleared all but once.

They are basically forcing you to play the way they want you too..l would hate to do this as a solo player for year 1 armour with 1 extra perk on it
-
So the take away is avoid Iron Banner. 👍
-
Dude, I'm here to remind you that this was the 1st iron banner of this season. There are 3-4 already onbthe way this season. You have enough time.
-
Finished this yesterday (I work a 9 to 5 and only play Destiny during the evening nowadays), did most of it solo and I've got to say it was one of the most annoying quests I've done in the crucible so far. I hate forced loadouts, specially scouts and fusions, which are not my type of gun (AR was fine because I ended up working on the SR catalyst). The abilities part was even worst, mainly because I generally lead with a nade instead of finishing with one, so I had to change my playstyle to do this part (Titans out there use termite with sunspot to do this faster, it helps). The armour is cool (even though it's the y1 armour) but I hope Bungie doesn't make it completely useless in September.

I could not care less about banner or the reckoning. I did one tier 3 reckoning and never went back. And banner always had new weapons each time back in d1 so now it seems completely pointless as well.

1 RispondiIt allways suprised me how Bungie came up with such a good gameplay core, but allways manage to fck up their own achievements. Hey, gyes, I bet you have EA or Epic emploeys in your team! They sabotagin you thing! Sad story tho :( Now when you see a player in some cool armor, or with some gun, title or something you cant say: "wow dis dude is good in pvp", or "hes good in raids", or solo nightfalls or whatever... The only thing you can tell in these cases:"oh, another nolifer with nothing better to do in hes life".

2 RisposteI don't know if it's just me but I keep getting smashed in iron banner.. level advantage sucks, lord of wolves sucks, one eyed mask sucks and the quest some what sucks (it is what it is). Just seems to be more sweaty and toxic then comp right now.
-
2 RisposteI fully agree with this. I LOVE iron banner so much, but I can play every night after work and still not complete all the bounties on one character. Of course none of them even dropped armor so far so.... not even sure why I’m trying for this.
-
7 RisposteI'd rather spend 12 hours straight farming for an Infinity Pistol in Borderlands 2 when the drop rate was bugged at 0.037% than play that cesspool known as Iron Banner.

3 RisposteModificato da $hirtless Captain Kirk: 6/21/2019 5:42:04 AMMy main complaint is there seems to be something weird going on with the matchmaking. It seems to me and many others like it's taking players who are highly active and matching them with a bunch of semi-active players. I simply will not play under these conditions. There's a noticeable difference and I know something funny is going on. I will not tolerate being expected to carry s*** players. I know what my abilities are now in Banner, and I know where I stand. I generally destroy everything in Iron banner and it's been quite the opposite this time around and there's some weird things happening. many of my friends are having the same experience. they're usually the top player on their team on a losing team of really really scrubby blueberries that you can tell do not play the game often at all. The other team: always a 4-6 stack every game. This is the first I've seen it this bad. The frustration of leading your entire team, and in many cases, the entire game in kills, captures, and everything possible, and you still lose....makes me NOT want to play the game at all... Or purchase future installments of the game. Why would I continue to put up with something this aggravating? Let alone fork over more money to the title causing the frustration? I literally feel like I'm being punished for being an avid player. Bungie really needs to figure some of this dumb s*** out. They're not going to have Activision as a scapegoat going forward. Do not waste your time for Swarm of the Raven. it's not worth it; it's not needed; all you need to do is get an outrageous Fortune from vanguard playlist with Spikes. I'm finishing off bounties that I already put work into but after that I'm boycotting this b*******.

3 RisposteModificato da Majestic12: 6/20/2019 4:56:47 PMThe only way the quest make sense is if the armor was guaranteed to drop master worked and with enhanced perks of your choice
-
30 RisposteI went into iron banner one time before i bought forsaken. I was rank 20, everyone was rank 50. This was during the iron banner free trail whatever. My auto rifle did just 1 damage per bullet , the enemy one shotted me. I have not played iron banner since. And i won't. iron banner defines pay to win.
-
I’m of the same opinion... my biggest gripe always has been being forced into playing a certain for for extended periods of time do bounties or quests. I’ll do it to get some dailys done but man... it’s rough going for this armor quest. I’m not a big pvp guy at all so it’s already a slag. I just wish these things were a little less specific especially in IB... I already have to use weapons based on light rather than preference just to keep my numbers up. Tough fix but I wished Bungie went a little outside the box with quest requirements instead of the boring ol standard. Add a little fun so it doesn’t feel like a countdown just trying to fulfill bounty/quest steps.
-
The grenade kills (Step 3) using a Hunter can just kiss my ass! (All Hunter grenades are useless!) Seems a single Titan pulse grenade will last (pulse away, denying a doorway etc) the entire match! Why the heck didn't Bungie make it account based
-
Menagerie is the only worthwhile activity in destiny because it’s not completely down to the ever ridiculous whim of RNG on what you will get.
-
1 RispondiI completed the first step. Iron Truage boots? Didn’t we already get this iteration of gear? Year 1 maybe?
-
4 RisposteModificato da serious_beans: 6/21/2019 3:07:41 AMAbsolutely, the grind has just become tedious. It's not fun having to get final blows with nades and melee as a hunter and then have to get final blows with a sniper, an auto (straight shit in PvP) scout and a -blam!-ing sword. On top of that, I've gained in maybe 200+ IB tokens and gotten 7 -blam!-ing gauntlets and 3 pairs of legs which I already have. Seriously bungie this is -blam!-ing stupid. I'm gonna put in over 40 hours by the end of the weekend and I doubt I'll have a full IB set. What the -blam!-?
-
12 RisposteThe worst thing is getting put up against a six stack sweat team every damn game.
-
The only bad part of this iron banner quest is the person who designed it clearly doesn't play pvp at all, grenades other than pulse grenades are useless so hunters your -blam!-ed at that step then u get onto the step having to use absolute trash tier weapons like swords, scouts an auto rifles which can take ages as no1 uses them so u have to use them. overall the quest idea was cool I like a path to get gear but the pools are now so diluted if your trying for God rolls on gear or weapons it's near impossible to get them, would of been better to have had smaller pools of gear an it change every iron banner rather than giving us everything at once.
-
3 RisposteI think "bottom line" isn't what you're looking for, there is just "a line" in Destiny now. For a large majority of the community we participate in about 75% of the content. We do our weekly chores, weapon quests here or there, have fun....then the line hits, where you as a 'normal gamer' can no longer participate. The attitude now is "well, just don't play it", which is fine...until your audience is no longer playing your game.
-
8 Rispostethey got IB right in D1 win or lose the rewards just came raining down the end of a match. Yeah RNG was a cruel mistress but the rewards were given to you for playing as little or as much as you wanted...PERIOD!
-
ironbanner is a pain. always playing against 4-5 unbroken stacks and my team are the biggest fools ever. on top of that the game want you to play weapons for the quest, wich are so bad. nobody play scouts or autorifles
-
I never liked IB in D2. Suffice to say I didn't even ranked over level 4 with Saladin.
