Oh, man, this has been a climb. Granted, there are hours left, LFG is full of "GIVE ME MONEY AND I'LL CARRY YOU" things, and I'm just trying to improve my abysmal K/D at this point. But, damn, if it hasn't gotten toxic. I've gotten about a third of the way up Heroic III with my usual fireteam from my clan, and they do amazingly. I can kind of keep up, but, I'm more a Gambit/Raid player. PvP is my weakness, and I've kind of seen it as a thing of pride that I've gotten to the point where I could get Luna's Howl and The Recluse. So, what do I do? Spotify some MDK, put on a good load out, and try to have fun. I wasn't prepared for the toxicity. Solo Queueing is pretty much asking for your Glory Rank to get cut. I know. But, after me and my clanmates (which usually suffer little to no losses, at a time) got together to try to push me from Heroic III to Fabled I, we got slapped. Seven times. Hellooooo Brave III. The [i]messages[/i] I got, however, were nuts. I really can't even paraphrase what I received, but I didn't report them, or respond. It was upsetting to lose my hard earned progress after acting like a sweat to get there, but, I've kind of reserved myself to the idea that if I don't get those weapons, I just don't. Now, mind you, the three teammates I had each reached Fabled I, one of them actually sitting at Mythic II when this all went down, from what they said. So, I was facing people that were exponentially better than me. But this is Overwatch levels of toxicity. It's making me want to get these weapons so I can say that I, a "dirty casual," tainted the sacred weapons of tryhards, sweats, and the rare good sports that actually play the game for enjoyment, not as if their life depended on it. I got DDOS'd. Twice. Got banned from Comp, and I admit, it has infuriated me. [i]We weren't even winning the matches, either.[/i] So, if anyone from Bungie reads this, please don't misunderstand, I absolutely love this game. I've put more hours into it than any other game this year, because earning the Exotics and experiencing the story that's been written has been a joy. But, I don't think the community is going to get any better. I'm expecting toxic responses to this post, and, I don't care. If you do respond, try for encouragement. Maybe leave me tips as to how I can get better, and legit earn these weapons. I want to see more people enjoy the game, and be hyped over the fact that Bungie had been liberated from Activision, and can actually DO what they want. But, don't be toxic. A "Haha, get good scrub" is one thing, but the manner of bashing my playstyle, or the ridiculous, assumed remarks about my mental acuity was almost enough to illicit me swearing off PvP entirely. Just have fun.
