Destiny is not for working dads

Your grinding model is just too much. I’ve been you with you guys since the beginning, but I think it’s time to start looking for new things this grinding crap is getting old. I no longer have the time and it seems like it takes even more time now than it ever has just to get things in this game. It’s not fun, it’s just frustrating as hell now I regret wasting all my time on your game. I guess destiny is only for people who can spend 2-3 hours or more a day just to get anywhere

Well, the people who play the least seem to have the best things handed to them, so don't worry. You're probably getting better drops than the people who play constantly 24/7. I almost guarantee if you go into a Last Wish raid having no idea what to do and wearing blue armor, you'll get 1000 voices at the end.

    • I do agree with you and understand you.. I also am a dad of 4, a 5 yr old, 8 yr old, 11 yr old and a 25 yr old so yeah my time is limited and I work a 40+ hour a week job. So I completely understand and wish Bungie would listen to the community like they did with D1 but now it's all about the PR they get from streamers and the hardcore jobless pvpers :( D2 had such promise and should've been better than D1 but like in most sequels they usually aren't as good as the originals :(

    • I feel like I can either grind up power level or one pursuit. It's a lot to do but the upside is there's always something to look forward to. I do agree that some grind content like luna's and mountaintop ARE OVER THE TOP RIDICULOUS for us working people

2-3 hours a day? HA! More like 7 hours per day. Destiny 2 feels like a full time job.

      • I grind hard because I have the time for most of it but my fire team pal is a devoted family man that doesn't always get the time to play. As a result he misses out on a lot of stuff as it's happening. Bungie claims to want to make experience moments but the getting to that point point is now so long that many are left behind. All the fake parents responding to this post negatively is shameful and damaging to the community. The grind is not in a great place but players attitudes are in a worse one.

      • Unfortunately this game caters to try hards. Those people try too hard. They spend every moment on this game. They farm ten raids a week and still have time to reset their PvP ranks. Sadly it's their input and the dev teams personal play styles that dictate this game. If they actually wanted to listen to the community we wouldn't have spent nearly a year asking for scout and auto buffs. And the core thing wouldn't be an issue. Of course like I said try hards don't have an issue. Casual players get about six to 8 a week no where near enough to use.

        • I don't know, it's more of an ebb and flow thing for me. The forges were a low moment for me and so far have still only done the first one, and I am not that into Gambit either. That being said, got Thorn this past week, finally got through the Crucible grind for Last Word and moved onto next steps, Chaperone also obtained this past week, and a few other things chipping away at. Basically, knowing my time is somewhat limited on a weekly basis I have given up on being an "early adapter" with new stuff.

          • Just because there are multiple milestones does not mean you are required to complete them. I, for example, hate gambit so I usually don't do those ones. Just play what you enjoy and take time to enjoy the game. Once you reach max light level things can become stale so why rush it? As for removing the grind, I respectfully disagree. I much rather have too much content than not enough (as was the case in d1).

              • Going to disagree, I work 8-5 M-F, married 18 years, two kids 14 & 10. I play Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays after 830pm. I also play when I can on the weekends if the wife is occupied. My gaming sessions usually go for 2-3 hours. My main(Titan) is currently 694 with no raids! There is more then enough to do if you manage your powerful engram routine. If it helps, I go from the Vanguard to the dreaming City adding the flashpoint in between. Black Armory and Reckoning are done last as these provide the most power gain outside of Raiding(the BA rare bounties are a +5!).

Destiny is not for working... on anything wrong with it. I once played it for 9 to 15 hours a day. Everything revolves around advancing your power level. Yes, shooting the AI is fun. But completing an event for a random reward is bull. It is not based on your participation in the event. It is based on ... I don't know what it's based on. I've completed events by myself and received 500 to 1200 glimmer, 2 to 6 planetary resources, and rare and or legendary gear that is never even close to your power level. I've taken 1 shot or even just ran through an event, came back when it was done and there were prime engrams and legendary engrams on the ground looted the chest and received more reward than I deserved... which was nothing. As far as the working dads or moms or anyone that doesn't have 25 hours a day to spend in here grinding for prime engrams or enhancement cores... your screwed. I would have added powerful engram rewards in the grinder but over 50% of powerful rewards are more than your power level but less than what you already have equipped. So basically gunsmith material. Enhancement cores in infusing are the main problem and Bungie hates you. But they love your money.

                    • 19 but Work over 40 hours a week. Every week. Its doable. If I want to got on i do it after 930 and then i hit a few milestones and get off for tomorrow. If you do 3 milestones a night, its plenty quick to level up. It's not a speed run to 700. If it was, you lost. It's not a Big deal.

Find another hobby as one is taking this past time too seriously.
