Competitive Crucible - Glory Tuning

Today (3/5/19 - 2:15 PM Pacific), we've deployed a change to Destiny 2 that will re-tune the amount of Glory Rank points gained and lost in the competitive crucible playlist. Compared to previous seasons, Glory gains and losses have been effectively doubled. Our goal in this change is to make the ranked playlist more inviting to a larger amount of players. This means more access to pinnacle weapons, higher ranks, and more people to compete against at those higher ranks. As always, we’ll be monitoring feedback over this change. Thank you![/quote]

  • I would love to play but I keep getting stacked against Luna's and not forgotten in my first game change that maybe, I never bother with the play list because it keeps happening. Like you can't get 1 win with that

    • Could you please add a a weekly mode selection for Glory/Competive modes. For example each week besides Quickplay we always have some modes we can select that scale using Valor, such as Rumble. What if each week we also had a mode from the Competitive lists that Scales with Glory. If we had this I'd play on the weeks it was Countdown, since I'm good at it, but I'm not as good at some of the other Competitive modes

    • I can climb the cliff faster and also fall faster. How is this any different then last season? Less grinding? No. Sorry Bungie in a month you will realize this will change noting in Comp.

      • For all of you people literally whining about “double loss”... I solo queued for Luna’s Howl as well as the rank for Mountaintop (minus the weird triumph completion). I’m normally neutral, but the complaining like a little wiener really makes me think that.... you need to GIT GUD.

          • Still not gonna put any serious time into Comp until it is based on individual performance rather than team performance. I want to be in control of my own destiny.

          • Now I’m not sure if the points you receive or lose are the same at all ranks but I know that at heroic it’s 30 for a win and 26 for a loss. The win streak goes 30, 40, 50, 60, 70 points. There is no loss streak so you always would lose 26 on a loss. Now with everything being doubled the streak should be 60, 80, 100, 120, 140 while only ever losing 52 points per loss. Again there’s no loss streak. I can see how it being doubled for a loss sounds daunting but it’s actually better this way. Before if you won one then lost one , you only had a gain of 4 points. Now it would be a gain of 8. Now if you win two in a row then lose one you still would have a gain of 88 points. That’s much better than what it was before.

            • If you want this to work as intended, you need to change the numbers. Cut the increase on wins down by 50% (so 150% compared to last season). Leave losses as they are. Give only more reasons to go there, and no additional reasons to avoid it. As this change stands now, it only benefits you if you're winning. With comp favoring teams, and matchmaking not preventing teams v solos, leaving this change as it is is going to be a net negative.

            • The double for losses makes what you did irrelevant unfortunately. If you look at the majority of the complaints are about loosing glory when people quit on your team. So now people will looses twice as much because of being short players on their team. This in no way will convince people to play the competitive playlist. All you did was allow the top 5% to level up faster. I really enjoy PvP but I don't understand how this is supposed to help the average player.

              It you really want to make Comp more inviting, then make it so if we lose we get no points but also lose none. We don't control when our randoms leave or the enemy team ddos's us.

                Wait what? If you wanted more players why did you double losses? And keep streaks attached? You've essentially done nothing. Unless your winning multiple At least they're trying but Streaks need to go Double wins. Not losses And do Something for Solo q and 3v4

Thank you![/quote][/quote] This not gona help comp.. In theory would be easier to achieve higher ranks with streaks, but, is not that simple. This only gona help even more stacks, solo players still gona have a thought time. Lets be honest, it's positive seeing the devs trying to do something a out comp, but they could have done better. Doubling the gains wasn't necessary, just tweek the amount of glory you lose per lost, this would be a good start to actually make comp good and even maybe start the foundations of a new trials of Osiris or the nine. Anyway, I already post this but no one actually care to look, but I hope you guys ( Dmg or cozmo) pass this to the devs. Deicyide come up with great ideas in this video, hope it helps.                   • Doubled the loses? That just makes it less appealing. As most people have told you in feedback multiple times the loss of points is too punishing to players who are handed a loss for a variety of reasons outside of their control. Bad change.

                      • Negating progress is not the answer. It’s as effective as a collections tab that can’t reaquire random rolls, as they were introduced in Forsaken and beyond

                      • I have about 600 hours in D2 and have never even touched Competetive ... can anyone explain what is this Glory and And how do you tune it? You make the hole bigger? Or you make more holes? And how do you know it's not a dude on the other side?

                              Sounds like a good change to me. Especially if the Glory you get from win streaks is doubled and the Glory lost from losing remains the same, regardless of how many matches you lose consecutively. Can anyone confirm please? i.e. Is it 60 per loss consistently, or does this also increase for losing streaks?
