This might be the one and only time I can totally agree with you.

Not sure why everyone is ridiculing the OP for using cores the exact way they are meant to be used. Who gives a shit if you hoard your materials, doesn’t mean there’s not an issue for others. People talk so highly of this games community, yet 75% of responses/comments on the forums or reddit are just name calling like petulant children. To OP, forgive me because I may have missed it if answered already, but do you use the finest matterweave consumables? I agree that the infusion could be a lot better, but I don’t know that removing enhancement cores from it is the answer. People complained about infusion being meaningless in D2 Y1, so Bungie adjusted it. I’m sure if enough people complain, Bungie will do it again. They never really seem to stick to their guns on much.

There are plenty of cores in game though, and easy ways to get them, finest matterweaves- literally only for getting cores, Spider, sells cores for a stupid price but worthwhile if you play the game more than once a week. Dismantling year 1 masterworks grant you 7 at once Not to mention they're adding more ways to get them, I understand peoples irritation earlier on, but it's gotten so much better. Why are these things not taken into account?

I make 80 Enhancement Cores per hour by purchasing items from spider then selling to appropriate NPCs, then dismantling items. You get a shit ton of other supplies in the process. Play the game more and stop begging for handouts, its so -blam!-ing sad, PS, git gud

There’s so many sources if you can’t get enough for an infusion maybe you should start choosing when to infuse strategically instead of infusing for a 3 power level difference This isn’t vanilla D2, you can’t infuse for the hell of it

All these people saying cores drop like rain. I went two months without getting any. It’s still tied to RNG.

Still think the argument is poor and don't see what the big issue is. Playing the meta and cores have nothing to do with each other at all, your not forced to do either to play the game or complete anything. If you play 2 hours a week your not going to get much apart from levels if you play some more and play efficiently you should have loads. Bungie said they wanted people to choose what they masterwork and level which is fine in my eyes, loads of ways to get cores for just playing the game. Being careful with your mats is a part of most RPGs but apparently that's a hard concept to grasp. To keep you whiny bunch happy they should give out a cores for each milestones completed and be done, but you'd still complain that's wasn't enough.

Why are you infusing gear before getting items with a power level of at least 635? Seriously, I just played in my favorite set of armor unless I did something that REQUIRED a higher power level and then I'd throw on my highest power level shit while I did that activity and then switch back. Once, I started getting power level gear above 635, I actually considered to infuse gear. And only one or two pieces of gear that I felt really needed upgraded. I am a very casual player. I have about 510 hours across 2 characters (I haven't played my hunter since Curse) and I currently have a power level in my preferred gear of over 643. My character isn't wearing his normal helmet right now. I run with Ace of Spades, Crimson, or Horror Story in my kinetic; Loaded Question, Borealis, or Telsto in my energy; and Thunderlord, Zenoiba rocket launcher, Crooked Fang, or an Avalanche in my heavy. All of these Legendary weapons are Masterworked... all 5 of them. I have 6 pieces of Masterwork armor. and with all of that done, I still have: 60 Cores left. And I have over 1000 shards. I can sell 30 shards a day for 2 Cores at Spider. I'm sorry... I'm a casual player and even I don't have a problem keeping cores. The problem is you wasted them to give yourself a 5 point power level upgrade on each item instead of waiting until you hit end-game and then upgrading the items by power levels point increases of over 20. In short: save your cores until you need them. Pick the armor pieces and weapons you are most likely to use and upgrade them first. Then pick and choose other pieces as you have cores available. And if I needed more cores, I have tons of planetary resources, over 750 Crucible tokens (and I hate Crucible), almost 800 Vanguard tokens, and about 900 gunsmith materials. I could burn through all of that shit and get more cores and shards from breaking that stuff down. Seriously, if a casual player like me doesn't have a problem staying in cores, what's your problem? Seriously you have more time on one of your characters than my 2 combined. You wasted your resources.

Just hold off on infusing until your max or near max. There's no reason to beside just throwingcores away. cores already drop [i]in abundance[/i]. You just need to stop wasting them

Cores are not a problem. And there is no PVE meta. Sure, sure lfg groups want to do last wish with cluster bombs but that's not a meta. Using pvp as an example really doesn't work in favour of your argument. Just look on youtube for the number of people that ask their subscribers for loadout suggestions. Mike/Geekermon does it for pvp. Esoterickk does it for pve. At the end of the day, this game, like many others, asks you to manage a relatively rare resource intelligently. Ask yourself why you're failing at that.

If you blow all of your monthly wage (assuming you are employed) on beer and hookers, do you ask your employer for more?

I still have no idea why you people are constantly out of cores. They drop all the time...from many sources. I have like 53 of them. I have a friend who has over 120 and ge hasnt played in nearly a month. Youre just using them without thinking.
