For god's sake keep loss mechanics out of quests
Basically what the title says. Nothing is more frustrating than seeing a huge chunk of your progress disappear. Especially if you HATE doing the activity. It's bull crap, lazy padding to extend play. If you REALLY want to extend the grind keep it FIXED but a bit longer. This only punishes average players. Hyper competitive sweats will have no problem breezing through, but average players (the crucible step for Last word for instance) will be disproportionately punished. It is poorly designed. Have the step be, kill 150 players, or something. It is even, fair and not going to punish average to lower skill players by taking away progress. Or put a cap on total loss per match.

4 Risposteloss mechanics is ok, but put a check point thing in between games not lose all your points but just those gained in the current match. Then only positive progress is possible.

I finished that portion of the quest in a couple hours (and I never play PvP, and mostly suck at it), but I agree with you. Loss mechanics feel awful; yes, you prove that you're "worthy" in a way that simple grinding wouldn't, but I'm not convinced that's the sort of thing you do for an exotic weapon, much less one of the highest-profile ones from D1. You want loss mechanics in PvP? Fine, make quests for weapons like Luna's and NF, that an average player or average PvEer won't miss. Don't do it for exotics that everyone wants (and don't tell me "bUt IT's a pVp GUn", because it's fun as hell to use in PvE too).

I don't like the quest either. Some of suck at PvP. We weren't all born with crazy hand eye coordination. Either way, it adds insult to injury and gives players an even bigger advantage. I would like the loss removed.

I just looked at my stats ... I knew I was bad at PVP but didn’t know I was this bad. I still got the gun .

Quit your bitching the quest isn't hard and my 12 year old son was able to do it just fine, not as fast as me but still on his own. You are a crybaby and what ruined this game to make it watered down. Go play minecraft

1 RispondiEasy Way to get your crucible kills without dying (much): Warlock top tree voidwalker (Slova bomb) Skull of Dire Ahamkara Go to mayhem, stay back, wait for super, discharge super in direction of red on radar. Rinse, Repeat. No need to engage anybody, let the Nova do the work for you!! Easy peasy and absolutely Cheesy!

3 RisposteI think battlefield have nailed quest steps better than bungie right now... a quest step in battlefield would go something like: Get 5 consecutive headshot kills in 1 life; or Get 30 headshot kills. Your pvp lovers aim for the first, your grinders aim for the first and can always fill the gauge for the second. Win - win. Honestly destiny should apply this to just about every bad quest step in the game. Like competitive and redrix... WOW that was like a tutorial for game devs everywhere on how to bore your community into not playing your game. Reach rank 4 in competitive; or Play 100 matches in the crucible. INCLUSIVE. I think im getting the hang of this.

5 RisposteNah, it's fine. Keep above a 1.0 kd consistently, and you'll be fine. You seriously have to be very poor to not be able to do this, it's literally 1 kill or assist per death.

I average above a 2.0 most games, let me tell you how to 'get gud' ... bait your teammates. Seriously. I helped my brother do his quest yesterday and he's below a 1.0 usually. Start playing cautiously - don't hide - but let your better, or more confident teammates rush out and you clean up. I would rush out and purposefully die and call-out where I died and who killed me and he would kill them. Worked like a charm. Mayhem is best for this quest, you don't even have to have any gun skill whatsoever. Good luck.

I absolutely loathe crucible but i hate to say even i found this relatively easy. Just play some Mayhem. Its less annoying than regular crucible and if you play smart and dont rush itll take you like 6 or 7 games.

I finished that step in 3 matches, but I still think the loss penalty should be removed and the amount needed increased.
