Lost in the hubbub over confirming the [b]r[/b]apey alcoholic ragemonkey was the fact that Trump has already nominated, and had confirmed, more federal court of appeals judges than any other president since the current system went into effect back in the 1890s. In a busy year, SCOTUS decides [u]maybe[/u] 80 cases. The federal courts of appeals do virtually all the work regarding constitutional law, federal statutory interpretation, etc. Since the GOP retained control of the U.S. Senate, we can expect Trump's influence over the courts of appeals to keep on growing.
