Now this is coming from a D1 veteran. Playing Destiny has been my hobby for a few years.
So it’s sad for me to say this but playing D2 has become a chore. It wasn’t always that way.
In D1 I started playing on PS4 and after a year I also started playing on Xbox after Rise of Iron.
When I started on Xbox I played through everything on one character then on the other two characters I leveled them up to 400 just playing the crucible. I could play what I wanted and still be leveling up.
The milestones in D2 are a bad idea. I have to play 3 Gambit matches. I have to play three strikes. I have to play 5 crucible matches. I have to play the night fall. I have to do all the dreaming city stuff.
See where I’m going. I have to do those things or I won’t level up. Leveling up is important because you need to be a high enough level to play the raid.
What Black Armory did was expose this bad design. It was a very bad decision to block access to a dlc people paid for behind a level requirement to start.
This is why the community is angry. Me included. We have to play old content for a couple of weeks to start this.
Now I have to go do all those milestones to get high enough to play this dlc. That takes time. And I can’t spend that time leveling up by playing nothing but crucible or strikes. I got to do those milestones. This game has now become a chore instead of something fun. I already have a job.
I was also looking forward to new crucible maps and new strikes but none of that in this dlc.
Hey maybe I’ll get some new armor or weapons from the vendors. Nope. Only thing to do is chase some weapons and grind some more after grinding for three months to climb 220 points.
If this is the future of Destiny then this has got me considering not playing Destiny anymore. That is the first time I ever thought that.
Just thought I’d share this feedback with Bungie so they can understand why people are angry with this game and what they might consider changing in the future.

I feel the same way. I played the crap out of D1, but D2 is constantly trying to force you to play certain activities in a certain way or you cannot progress. Even if I play as many milestones as I can in a week, I only gain about 5 power. So I have to spend all my limited play time only doing the milestones for 10 weeks to reach the new power cap. And by that point, it's time to raise the power again. They really ought to stop raising the power cap.

I finally beat the forge yesterday. I do feel as you do, that upon release you could not play new content and that is crazy. They should have made it possible beforehand to level up, say during the grind for the new pinnacle weapons, that would have given us a week. Now, the new weapons seem pretty cool, but the Forge is not fun in the least, it’s irritating. My decrease in the want to play is just due to it not being fun.

17 RisposteIs this the thread where everybody comes in and cries because they play a Shooter MMO and/or never played Diablo or any other loot game with leveling system, and now wants everything easier? What’s the problem? You find a friend you do all the daily and weeklies with and get your power levels and grind for everything your heart desires. I mean all ascendant challenges and eggs and whatever there is. You want to grind all out in one weekend? I see now people throwing games to loose fast to get the Breackneck. Then you play 10 games a week or 2 a day. And then get the weapon later. It’s not going away or anything. It’s weird for me this “I want now!” Society. It’s the same with the forges. They made them easier now and everybody can basically run them. Me and my pal did this week both of them and it was a piece of cake. We are only 615. People will complain in 3 weeks there is nothing to do. Or ask themselves what I’m grinding for or what not. If you think it’s a chore and don’t like it then to bad the game can’t be how you want it to be. Instead of putting your sleeves up and have fun you complain. Maybe ask yourself why you need all that stuff now? If it’s a chore why bother? Move on get another game. I didn’t do all in the game. Still have to go for a lot of items, and quests. Finishing Malfesance and getting 3 resets just before the Breackneck dropped. 500 fusion rifle kills? Getting there. The game is about loot. There is a construct of a story and a world, but it’s like playing Diablo. It’s all about the loot. There is enough in the game to grind your light level up rapidly. In 2 weeks maybe even less most players will be 650. Then it’s going to be a fest of complaining again.

3 RisposteMy highest character was 597 when BA dropped. With my best gear on I'm setting at 620 right now. The forge is definitely beatable at 605 and up. I was at 608 when I got my 1st forge ignition with randoms. I know everyone's skill lvl is not the same but it's not as hard as your making it out to be. 2 weeks to be forge ready? Cmon bro

Preach it, to the scum of the industry. Little Scumgie, always looking for a scam to pull.
-
Trying to do every milestone on every character kills it for me too, im happy that there is plenty to do. I can grind what i want, and if i get bored of that, there is some power reward behind some crucible shit i dont want to either!!
-
By the end of D1 a casual who didn't raid or nightfall could hit 400 like the rest of 'em. Stupid that we don't have that level of freedom anymore.
-
Is your complaint that you like exclusively playing crucible but it doesn't level you up - therefore blocking you from non-crucible activities? Also, crucible can get you powerful engrams for... doing the daily, the weekly, the clan weekly, the clan rewards in general, exotics and prime engrams. I count 6 ways even when Iron banner is not on.

Modificato da BossManTings88: 12/10/2018 12:39:48 PMTheir plan would have worked perfectly if they had just told people don’t bother purchasing season pass unless your 600 cause your just gonna moan at us for not being CLEAR about what’s required to play annual pass content oh sure here the old dlc real cheap here’s the catch you gotta get to 600 FYI i couldn’t give a rats a s s anymore I agree with the whole chore point the dude/dudette made I just play when I feel like killing some shit gaining only 10 ish light a week boring asf
-
I guess it only feels like a chore if you don’t enjoy the activity. I never find gambit or pvp a chore, but strikes can feel that way sometimes to me. So for the first week or two I will do most stuff to boost my level a bit, then I just do the stuff I enjoy. Yes this might mean I’m locked out of content for longer than others but who actually cares?

Modificato da GouldBerg988: 12/10/2018 10:37:34 AMIt was always this treadmill. Except in D1 you had to get lucky to progress, now you only have to be chore-resistent ;-) Or instead of putting yourself through the treadmill you could realize that the only thing that you "have" to do is what you make yourself to do. This mentality is practically the same as many workaholics have in RL: I must get rich, so I have to work a lot to make money for my family (that I don`t have time to enjoy), so at the end my kids are estranged from me, my wife divorced me and I have a heart attack...the "system" is to blame. In this way I read a lot Posts like yours, the perfect example for a playaholic: I must grind, so that I can do the things that are (eventually) fun. 95% chore to get to the 5% fun. And when you are finally at the point where you could do something "fun" you are most likely burned out on the game.

6 RisposteDidn't you know that this game is tailored for streamers, youtubers and no-lifers now!? Got to keep the 1% happy. "I already have a job" so true....

7 RisposteThis is what happens when you take stop making Destiny. Destiny used to be BECOME LEGEND, now, it's all just a list of crap for casuals. It used to be exciting, sophisticated, unique, it felt like Destiny. There used to be challenge, diversity in gameplay. Now we have a boring cartoon of a participation trophy.

4 RisposteI agree with this. I’ve sank thousands of hours into D1. Never once did I feel that way. Come Destiny 2, especially lately, I just have no motivation to do a list of tasks, just to level up to be high enough to do another list of tasks. It’s just not fun. Remember when Bungie said that no matter what you did, you would always be rewarded with something that was, at the very least, 1 light level higher than what you had? What happened to that? (Prime engrams not counting, because they rarely drop for me) I can’t run strikes and raise my power... I can’t play a crucible game and raise my power. It’s all tied to milestones.

[/quote] This sums it up for me, I too have been playing since D1 but somewhere along the line it became another job instead of a way to unwind from the other one. It's not that I hate the game, more that I don't care anymore.

Completely agree, doing the same stuff we’ve been doing for the past year let alone my RNG is complete garbage, my powerful gear 7/10 drops is one light lower then what I have and I still only have 5 forsaken exotics, making me want to stop playing more and more everyday, and this is coming from a destiny beta player who loved D1 I don’t think i touched a game more then a day or two without running back to D1 bc it was so good

2 RisposteThe forges are horrible... the charges should be 10 not 20 and the bosses shield should not regenerate... then locking bounties behind the forge is also stupid the fact you get a frame should give you access to the bounties. Getting a weapon from the forge should be a choice not a weak mechanism to block player progression and bounties. This gotdamn timer is also horrible. Whoever says let’s put a timer on everything needs to be fired! I have never been so frustrated by a game before when I’m just trying to play and enjoy myself It’s clear they made this for the streamers and the super tryhards who want everything so hard only they enjoy it... this isn’t comp let regular people enjoy the game of give this mode a prestige mode for the streamers and the tryhards I feel ripped off paying for this crap.

Should just make the game free & subscription based like majority of mmo.

Agree to a point, but you don't have to do this if you don't want to. What I mean is you get Prime engrams frequently to help level up. You get daily powerful engrams to level up. I don't like PvP, so don't bother with that. It's dumb that the clan engram usually has multiple PvP bounties, but you can still complete it without doing PvP. If you want the weekly powerful engrams then yes you will need to play 5 PvP matches or 3 gambit matches or 3 strikes, but that's over the course of a week. Hardly a chore. If you really want to rank up quickly then yes you need to grind the game, but then if you don't want to even play 3 strikes or a nightfall I don't really see any point in trying to level up anyways.

Leveling up should be tied to XP, not to gear. All activities (adventures, lost sectors, patrols, quests, missions, strikes) should add to leveling up our characters. The way it is now, leveling up is so heavily RNG dependable that you can do the milestones and just go up one or two levels or even not level up at all. I was 597 when Black Armory got out. After almost 8 hours playing since it's release trying to level up to be able to do the 1st forge, I'm only at 599. My drops where either duplicates or for slots where what I have equipped was at the same level. That's why the fun playing this game has been replaced by boredom and frustration. I have zero desire of doing more milestones, I want to play the game the way I want and level up in the process. A game can't be summed at being a weekly checklist. And that's what D2 has been for too many time already.

Don't play destiny then
-
Short version - no new content to help level up to do the new forge levels. Levelling up is painfully slow and through season 1-4 content. Festival of the Lost’s Horror Story despite the grind for it, made the game more fun for me, personally. Had that not come about I’d of stopped. Let’s face it once you fall behind power level wise, you’re left behind. Unless you have time to make this game your job. Where’s the fun?
-
It wouldn’t be so bad if they would increase the power granted from engrams up to 600.
