D3 needs to be a full and proper game first and foremost. If D3 has yet another Year 1 like D1 and D2 Bungie will lose their entire fanbase.

People said the same thing about D2 and people were still around in the game when forsaken was announced.

Maybe it's time to actually draw consequences for real. To be honest I would be much more optimistic about it if the Forsaken team was working on D3, but it looks like it's up to the D2 team.
-
Eh, maybe bungie will do a whole change of dev team, AGAIN, but this time we’ll get competent guys who can take the best parts of destiny’s stories for the next game. They also would be able to listen carefully to community feedback, as the current dev team responds to feedback about the game like an ahamkara (did I spell that right?), the respond to the issues exactly as they are worded.

I do think that the D2 vanilla team is competent. They made a full game, a playable one very well. It's just that beyond that they made a whole of of bad and wrong decisions. It wasn't an issue of incompetence, but bad design. Here'S hoping that the D3 team was listening closely to all the feedback that birthed Forsaken, and that the Forsaken team keeps the D3 team up to date and informed. Cause you could tell, coming from D1Y1 to D2Y1, that communication certainly didn't happen.
-
I’m surprised you didn’t respond to my ahamkara comment about the team. I won’t deny that they are competent, it’s just they seem to not understand that a large portion of the destiny community can’t agree on many big issues (or most of the menial one either). But, I think the forsaken treatment should be given to D2 dlc4 and D3, so that quality content can be created. This could probably be achieved by combining the D2 dev team and the forsaken dev team. I say this as it seems that they had great communication for this dlc and the game changes to complement its launch.

Food for thought: the Destiny community is indeed fundamentally divided on a lot of core issues. But, at this point, it’s pretty clear which side drives the profits. D1 was criticized relentlessly, but at the end of the day it was a tremendous success. Many of the decisions made with D2 were direct responses to the criticism of D2, and while early sales were great, player retention quickly bombed, and Forsaken had to walk back a lot of those changes. There will always be people who complain. But the Destiny Community has voted with their wallets and their play hours, and the results are in. Grindy PvE and fast-paced PvP are the winners.

This is all stuff I agree with. I won’t lie, I’ve complained about stuff with destiny in the past that I don’t have issue with now, but go most places on the bungie.net forums and most people will be “salty” and “toxic, as those terms are commonly used, about everything about the game, even if they haven’t played since August or prior. But head to twitter, Reddit, and other similar social media/forums sites, and you will find a community that is polite enough to figure out what the majority feels about an issue and go with that when asking for changes from bungie. Seriously, I see so many basic complements towards where the game is at, and the post is practically made a war zone by the amount of toxic people who haven’t played in a long time that proceed to talk shit about the game. It’s just annoying how that some people are led to believe some of the negative stuff about the game said by people online who haven’t played in lord knows how long. And to clarify my point, as it was mentioned in another post/comments section here: Community: “not enough content” Bungie: “ok easy enough to fix” Community: “game is too grindy, I need loot now!” Bungie: “wait, didn’t you just...?” Community: “games too easy needs to be more difficult” Bungie: “ok but are you going to change your min..” Community: “game’s too hard” Bungie (whispering): “goddamn it” Community: “certain item/mode is unbalanced. Fix now or else!” Bungie: “You know what?! How about you fix this -blam!-ING DEAD ROBOT?!” This led to forsaken and rumor has it this cycle continues even now.
-
In the end only time will tell. I don't doubt bungie has the ambition to make a good game, but it takes direction to hit the right idea of what makes a game good. There was a large influx of opinions, fresh blood, ideas and creativity prior to Forsaken and I think bungie would do well to keep the feedback flowing. Maybe another event like that one time where they flew in all those e-celeb big head honchos.
