• No. lol I'm trying to get to the bottom of the logic that nobody is admitting: - This was only a complaint when drop rates became so slow. - Nobody ever cared about this before (it's been a thing ever since vanilla). - Nobody has a problem with the loot pool consisting of all the other items you've already discovered. The exotic loot pool encompassing all of your 'discovered' items has always been a thing in D2. Everybody's whining about quest items now because the drop rate is slower. I'm just trying to point out that if you're calling for a change in the way the game plays, you should have a better argument than 'because I want more new stuff faster', because that's literally what everyone is whining about. A quest reward is still a 'discovered' item. The loot pool consists of 'discovered' items. ALL items you are free to re-generate from collections. The fact that this small number of items (quest rewards) is a point of frustration is just another way of saying 'my logic makes no sense, but change this ONE thing because I want better stuff faster'... Which is where the game was when D2 launched - and nobody wanted/wants that...

 • Okay bud you need to do your research. It has NEVER been like this. In D1, you couldn't get ace of spades out of an engram, even after you did the quest line. You're nutso lol

 • I never said any of that. I was never talking about D1...

 • Honestly man, just think about it for a second. I'm pretty sure quest exotics haven't been in the loot table previously. Quest exotics... you do quests for. That's the point, see. You complete a quest, you get the exotic. Other exotics... well, they drop randomly. That's the hook, you never know what you will get. I don't think anyone is complaining about the things you think they are complaining about. What they are saying, which I totally agree with, is that if you complete a quest, go through a whole string of requirements to get a weapon, well it doesn't make sense either way that it can drop randomly. One, why bother with the quest or even making the weapon a reward if you could randomly get it anyway, and two, if you have completed that quest and the exotic drop rate is hella low, then why make it so previously mentioned quest reward can drop instead of a 'random' exotic? It doesn't make sense. That's the whole point so I'm really not sure what you are trying to defend, or why. It just seems stupid.

 • The loot pool doesn’t consist of discovered items only. What you’re doing is rationalizing a shitty business practice so you feel less uncomfortable about it, it’s a psychological defense mechanism. They simply include quest exotics into the pool to make it even harder to get what you want, which equals more playing hours on their game, which equals likelier chances at visits to eververse.

 • This. A million times this. Are people really that dumb? Well, I guess yeah, they've been falling for Bungies shady business practices for years now. Wish this company gave a shit.

 •
The loot pool doesn’t consist of discovered items only.
I never said that. lol
What you’re doing is rationalizing a shitty business practice so you feel less uncomfortable about it, it’s a psychological defense mechanism.
I'm not rationalizing anything. I'm just describing how things work, and asking people to explain why they're asking for the change they're asking for. And the only answer I keep getting is 'because I want stuff faster' which is why D2 sucked balls at launch. Congrats on the psych degree, though...
They simply include quest exotics into the pool to make it even harder to get what you want, which equals more playing hours on their game, which equals likelier chances at visits to eververse.
So what? Heaven forbid players are encouraged to spend more time in a video game they bought. Seriously? Wait, you're one of those people that thinks everything should be free, right?
