Last week I posted a guide/video on how to use the Nova Warp and Handheld SuperNova. https://www.reddit.com/r/CruciblePlaybook/comments/9ecnef/how_to_use_nova_warp_handheld_supernova/?st=JM3RKO2C&sh=2e829d6b
In today’s guide, I get more technical so that you know the full capabilities of the Nova Warp super. All tests were done against a Sunbreaker at 7 resilience.
1. The normal blast does 200 damage on a Guardian that is in his neutral game
2. The charged blast does 440 damage on a Guardian that is in his neutral game
3. A normal blast does 88 damage to a Guardian that is in his super. I tested this on a Sunbreaker so the results may very against other supers. In this instance, it took me 3 blasts to take him out
4. A charged blast does 194 damage against a Guardian in his super, and is able to kill them
5. An uncharged blast has a smaller blast radius. It attacks quickly, but you need to be much closer to your opponent for it to kill them
6. A charged blast has a much larger blast radius and increased damage. It’s great for taking out supers. The drawback is that it takes time to charge and requires practice to execute successfully
7. When you pop your super, you get your grenade back. When the super is finished, you also get your grenade back. I suggest you use your grenade while you are in the super
8. Press the attack button during the warp animation to release a blast right as the warp finishes. Pressing the attack button after the warp would just slow down your attack and keep you vulnerable in the process
9. Burst glide during the super and combine it with your warp to move really fast. Once you’re in the air, I noticed that you can activate your burst right after warping, up to three times before landing. Blink is also good, but it doesn’t give the same speed boost that burst glide does. I prefer using blink when I’m shotgunning and in smaller maps
10. Practice it. Don’t discredit the super. It takes a few games to learn the rythme of the movement. You have a warp ability to close the gap on your opponent, along with a grenade. Also, if an enemy pops his super, pop your own super, bait him towards you, and release a charged blast.
Other notes I didn’t cover in the video:
- Warping uses up super energy
- Getting too high into the air is not a good idea. You’ll have to get back done and close to your opponent to release the blast. Try the technique i used in the video, where I burst right after the warp (up to 3X.) If you find yourself too high, press the jump button to end your glide and get back down
- When your super is very close to running out of energy, and there’s an opponent nearby, try using a charged blast instead of a warping to him. The warp may make you run out of energy by the time that you get to him
I hope these tips cleared up how to use the Nova Warp more effectively!

5 RisposteThis super seems so underrated. It’s a very good super. I love how the explosions you cause doesn’t use super energy only teleporting.
-
2 RisposteThe super is great and I don't see why it is getting such negative feedback. The only thing i don't like about it is the fact you can't charge up a blast and blink at the same time but this is a minor detail. The super just requires some thought and practice. I swear people have 1 game with it, don't do well and whine about it not being good rather than considering the fact it may be due to their lack of experience/skill with the subclass tree. Great videos Special K Dude! Truly a great warlock player.

5 RisposteYou forgot that the melee button also warps you. Not only pressing the movement stick....
-
2 RisposteAny other warlock main feel we should get a exotic that increases nova wrap damage and duration with each kill ?
-
Also to add: once Charged you cannot use Glide/Blink.
-
Thanks for this, I wasn't overly impressed with it in PVE. Will practice using it for PVP now though.
-
It's a monster in PvP and I got my first 40 kill game because of it.
-
3 RisposteOne thing to note(though this may just be a personal problem for myself) is that when you're on the very end of your Super, you cannot explode anymore. It always seems to just fizzle out, similar to Hammers, to where you can't throw a Hammer even though you start the animation for it. I really wish this wasn't the case, and that the last bit could be used for getting kills like the other close-range roaming Supers, and not just getting away/maneuvering through the damage resistance and warps. But, I could just be doing something wrong of course.

Thanks now I understand what happened to me in crucible earlier.

commented to save for later

2 RisposteI saved a clip with me killing all 6 players in one super with nova warp, it was awesome! Unfortunately I can get 2 team wipes in one super using stormcaller paired with crown of tempest so there is no reason for me to choose this super over stormcaller.

Modificato da Induced_Rage_: 9/17/2018 1:52:31 AMI started my warlock up again just because of this post. Its a very funny subclass to use. You can push people back and then explode them, AND YOU CAN TEAMKILL PEOPLE.

1 RispondiAlso keep a nade charged as you round corners!!

8 RisposteI've heard and read a lot negative feedback on this super, but last night I encountered a truly fearsome Warp Lock. Those blasts can have a startlingly large radius, and the Warlock themself can cover ground literally in the blink of an eye. After running across this guy, and seeing some very positive posts about the Subclass path, I can only conclude that this one falls in a similar place as Stormcaller (Stormtrance). By that I mean it takes much more skill and awareness to use it effectively, and with proper execution can be far more devastating than many believe.

1 RispondiModificato da Hatter: 9/16/2018 4:33:58 PMThis is a very well out together list! I main this subclass now and I can say all of this is accurate. In pvp another added spice you can put on is blink. While you move fast with burst, if you can master blink with this you have the capacity to just utterly team wipe almost every time with it. I got my 10th we ran out of medals last night with this

Im a blinking voidwalker from way back. I Love this new super!

6 Risposte
3. A normal blast does 88 damage to a Guardian that is in his super. I tested this on a Sunbreaker so the results may very against other supers. In this instance, it took me 3 blasts to take him out 4. A charged blast does 194 damage against a Guardian in his super, and is able to kill them
Quick question: Sorry if this has been covered but was your test subject wearing any Masterworked armour? As this would give different results.

Master class.
-
It's the only super in the crucible that I got a 6-man kill with. Its amazing.
-
1 RispondiThanks for this!!!
-
I use blink with it. Having fun.
-
I was initially deflated when I first tried this super in the crucible but the more I played around with it and embracing the warps, the more I started appreciating how clutch the super can get. Honestly, if a player gets really good with this super now, they will be op as hell if bungie buffs the super lol.

Modificato da Apollyon: 9/16/2018 4:07:47 PMDude you can fly with this super if you jump and just spam dark blink
-
3 RisposteGreat guide ! Makes this Titan want to roll a new warlock and unlock it first.
-
3 RisposteFantastic stuff, you're the few who likes to play a build which is notorious for not being great but still getting those Ws.
