Firstly, i dont have a problem dealing with shotgun warriors, theyre easily so bait and punish. Surprisingly, some people out there think that shotguns are hard to use.
Secondly, To those who ape with shotguns and think its use is complex, news flash, they're are dirt easy. You poor confused animals...
I am all for rushing handholding teamshooters because its fun to tear cheeks asunder and teabag and this is karma for the year of death balling, but... running up on someone in broad daylight with no F's or crouching around corners with a shotgun takes no brain power at all. It's not a skill if it's effortless.
It takes as much thought and "skill" as activating fist of panic when someone is near, or blinking your eyelids (which is none XD).
Is it fun?
Absolutely!
Is there a lot of depth, calculating, or deep thought?
Absolutely not!
I know some people are going to say: "But there are long, in-depth videos on shotgunning!" And to which I firmly reply: "XD"
My dear plebs, those videos are stretched out as much as possible to reach 10 minutes in order to appease the ruthless god that is the YouTube algorithm. The first minute is about what do with a shotgun, the next 8 are fluffed with gameplay and the last minute is the YouTuber asking for likes, subscriptions, shares, and following them on other medias.
You get relatively close and press a button, thats all. So to those this applies to, please stop prattling about it like it's a refined art. Thank you.

26 RisposteI honestly think shotguns require much more skill than people realize. You don't have to have good aim like you do with other weapons, but there's much more to skill than just that. Anyone can get kills with a shotgun, but only truly good players who have mastered their movement and reaction times are able to go on rampages with them. Average players are likely to get shut down after their first or second kill, and you even support this by saying that you find them easy to stop. If you don't believe me, just look at average gameplay of shotgunning compared to high skill youtubers or streamers. There's clearly more depth to shotgunning than you realize.

oh look, a sniper decided to come out of his camp site for once.
-
3 RisposteTldr; you got killed by someone with a shotgun and are mad.
-
Now Titan skating is the REAL problem.
-
When trying to kill someone your goal should be efficiency and effectiveness. If your priority is making the task as difficult as possible, then I dare say that you would be shit at it regardless of what you use.

I have played over 1000 quickplay games and only remember 3 opponents, because they dominated the field in a way top YouTube streamers likely dream of. Two of them used shotguns and I am sure that they played skillfully even though I’m only average myself. And it was happening when you actually had to get the brick of heavy ammo. They rocked their primaries too. They were simply good, skilled players. Shotgun rushing to trade does not require skill but I have very high respect to players who can shotty you and your teammate and stay alive. Constantly. Even colony can be used with skill. I have seen my teammate 4-shot colony to get zero kills and I have seen top tier guardian colony-wiped whole enemy team, swapping between colony and dire promise handcannon and in my opinion that also requires skill. Rushing shotgun traders are not a problem for me, I personally think they are more problematic to their own team because I usually just see them dying and eventually it hurts their own team even if they get few fun OHKs. Skilled, good shotgun users are a different topic. But those players are likely skilled whatever weapon the choose to rock. What I’m trying to say is that I believe all weapons require skill to be effective. Some weapons are easier to use, for sure. I use shotguns only for PvE because I have no skill at to use them in PvP to help my team.

I see alot of posts about nerfing shot guns , I say they are fine , leave them the way they are but instead buff up primary to compete, if you get in a 1v1 with a shot gunner and nobody behind you , you often times cannon bring down a guardian in the time it takes for them to close the gap and get in optimal range . People will say , just fall back and keep shooting .. and sometimes that works , but I've noticed that my guardian will not back peddle as fast backwards as it will charging forwards . Personally I think your movement speed should vary depending on the size weapon your using. Hence those running sidearms should move noticibly quicker than those running with a heavy shot gun.. Just my thoughts

11 RisposteYou are grossly misinformed, friend.
-
A similar argument could be made for all weapons.
-
1 RispondiLess then 1.2 kd 40 points on competitive Not even one toon max Little playtime in pvp and in game general BUT hi thinks that knows what takes skill or Not in pvp. OK just Lol.
-
7 RisposteCan we just agree that D2 PVP is anything but a skilled game... I mean, if everyone's connection was the same and there was no lag.... if every shot registered and walls actually stoped bullets then maybe we could start talking skill
-
2 RisposteShotguns require skill, every gun requires skill, even colony. Timing and decision to push in a certain time with a shotgun is very important. Having a high stats while shotgunning takes a lot of planning and skill. Anyone can run in kill one and die but if you want to get 40 kills 8 deaths now that requires hella amount of skill, switching between your primary and a shotty in a gun fight is very important as well. After you shotgun someone once he doesnt die, switching to your primary to finish him off instead of using a second shotgun shot is well what can I say, smart.

1 Rispondianother shitter thinking that he knows anything about PvP in Destiny
-
6 RisposteShotgunning requires little gun skill but extreme map knowledge along with good movement skills. Its on the person getting killed by the shotty if they weren't paying attention. Because I can tell you right now from playing Destiny since 2014 that its incredibly easy to shut down a shotgun warrior if you pay attention. All you need to do is stop them from closing the gap. And of course on the other hand, the shotgunner has to close the gap without getting shredded by every ever weapon type in the game. Again does it take good aim or gun skill, absolutely not. But it does take good movement skills and map knowledge to do and achieve maximum results. Here's a tip, if you know someone has a fusion rifle or shotty stay out of range. If they have a long range weapon, rush them. If they have a medium range weapon then analyze the situation and be smart.

The act of using the shotgun isn't what takes the skill. It's the positioning and maneuvering setting up for it that's the challenge. That said if you sprint straight towards someone for it you're gonna look like an idiot and get kited back.
-
... who cares? You do you bro.
-
Some people are actually incredible with a shotgun, I’m sorry you don’t know how to use one
-
There are advanced shotgun techiques such as "common sense" but most apes these days don't utilize them
-
1 RispondiThere’s a vast difference between a good shotgunner and a bad one, if there is no skill involved then how does that happen then?
-
Oh it’s gonna be like the d1 days once again. You have one side that thinks shotguns are op (or just really good) and are ruining crucible. And then you have the other side (probably only uses shotguns) that thinks shotguns are fine and that it doesn’t ruin crucible. Let’s see where this goes.
-
1 Rispondiif u get killed by a shotgun. blame nothing else but urself. It is most likely ur positioning, ur lack of ability to properly counter. I am not accusing u OP, but generally speaking. I played around 20 games in total and i did not go down by a shotgun once. However I can tell u that I put them down everytime they came. The thing is, it is not hard to counter. There r certain places that r considered shotgun paths now. Any tight area, just avoid them or ads the entry of it or exit. I use sidearms and the marines and I have no problem whatsoever melting my opponents that try to get too close for a shotty kill, and I will add this. if a player managed to get me with the shotgun, i can assure u it required alot of skill and I was outplayed in the process. Majority use it poorly cuz its new, in the sense of rushing thinking all u got to do is get close enough and shoot. while this most likely works with weaker players, its a poor approach on a skillful match. however a skillful player knows how and when to pull it out and evade counter measurements.

1 RispondiSorry but you are poorly mistaken. YouTubers create their video's in such a manner Step 1: show gameplay and Say something related to what the video is about. Step 2: create an opening that takes roughly 20-30 secs. Step 3: ask for likes and subscribers and explain how they do it. Step 4: talk about a "giveaway" for roughly 4 mins. That you will most likely give to a friend that people don't know is a friens aka not really giving anything away. Step 5: Find the longest way possible to describe something simple or rumored, often times with completely unrelated footage playing in the background. Step 6: close the video by asking for alike and subscribe again and if needed to add time add credits to show who all might have been involved in the making of the video. Essential make something that takes maybe 2 mins to describe into a 10+ min vid.

6 RisposteThere is 🇳 🇴 skill involved in this new crappy Shotgun meta, all its done is succeed in making me and my friends avoid Crucible as much as possible, milestones will be ignored now until Iron banner or Mayhem arrives.
-
It simple my lag is better then your lag. it peer to peer game there no skill anymore , with are speeds beyond the 1mb and 2mb , and those now do nothing at 10mb up and 300+mb , on peer to peer , there not to much codes i heard even left to fix that . reason all companies going full blown dedicated servers , now . worst is fiso 500mb upload and 500mb download or when get 1g upload and 25g download.
-
Honestly try a fusion, Ive dicked everyone with it, especially 0 skill titan charges with a shotty on... Mindless regression to their D1 days... Fusion is the future
-
Good positioning and spatial awareness are most definitely skills. If those are lacking shotguns and snipers become punishing. Players are just used to the d2y1 passive teamshot meta. Give it time. The legacy halo era of destiny is likely gone forever btw. Cant be both Destiny and Halo. Just too different. ps. primary weapon bodyshot damage is still on average 20-30% weaker than d1 whilst having lower accuracy. Buff primaries in this fashion.
