Faction Rally is kind of stupid
Oh hey, let's offer the most sought out reward for one specific faction, and then ct surprised when that faction wins by a landslide.
Honestly, I'm tired of it. Why can't we just go back to D1 factions. Just do stuff, get rewards. None of this rigged contest bullshit.

The Faction Rally was, sadly, something of a joke. No one had any doubt about who the winner would be. Graviton Lance is now a huge part of the meta, and anyone playing the meta, which is everyone, otherwise it would not be the meta, went for it. Bungie should not have been surprised. Also, it was a bit of a bait and switch promising Exotic Masterworks, and then making all but one essentially not available, and even the one a grind to get--exotic catalysts should not be blocked by Faction choice, especially if you can only make one faction choice per account, which is ridiculous. What was wrong with the D1 faction model? I would expect DO to win the next rally as well, as folks unable to hit 50 ranks complete it the next time around.

Yay! I finished the stupid faction rally. Just managed to get to 50 last night. I was 40 when I started grinding, did the dailies on each character, then just farmed Titan for an hour and a bit running back and forth between events, and the lost sector. Thank *BLAM* that's over. Farming that crap is just BORING! If it wasn't for the fact that everyone else will be using the GL catalyst in PvP now and I'd be at a disadvantage without it, I wouldn't have bothered. I hate faction rallies, and I'm not at all looking forward to the next one.

7 RisposteThe way they did it is horrendous, definitely. For the Gauntlets, My Hunter needed to kill Centurions, my Titan has to kill Phalanx (ugh I hate them), and Warlock has to kill Psions. I'm not too bothered by the Renown system on the Daily Milestones. What does bother me are the Enemy Supplies that show up every 10-15 minutes. Those special Yellowbars feel more broken because you're basically hitting somebody with a napkin at a little kid's Birthday Party, while the Yellowbars feel like they are whipping you with a mercury-coated whip with a dash of salt, whilst being strangled by a bedsheet around your neck. Hell, even a full 7-shell mag to the Head still isn't enough to kill Yellowbars (STEALTH MARAUDERS AAAAAAAACK).

It's ridiculous to expect the average player to make it to level 50 without some serious (BORING) grinding. For what? A single catalyst? Bungle still has this wrong. Just open the factions up for everyone, on a permanent basis. Let us pledge to all 3, or better still just give us a item we can wear to grind for their rep, like a ghost or an emblem that doesn't affect our stats. It's hard enough for the average casual player to get one faction to 50 over a season, but to force it on us in a single week is ridiculous. Did I mention I HATE renown? I ran past an event yesterday, and got tagged in it. The event finished and I ended up with 3 renown. I didn't notice it until I was a fair way into my mission, because I was wondering why the mobs were taking so long to kill. Then I had to suicide 3 times to get rid of the damn renown. Stupid system. Go back to D1 factions pls.

I completely agree. The original destiny had it, hands down, compared to this. Won't get to level 50, just not enough time. Pls just bring the factions back full time and let us have something to work towards. Especially when you might be solo'ing around, would be nice to have a somewhat chill activity to work on...while also being productive. This just sucks. What's the point if you don't have 15 spare hours during rally week?

I don’t understand why they can’t just let us grind for tokens through each season and then open up the vendors 3 times to buy things. This appeases the hardcore crowd as they still get their stuff fast and appeases the more casual crowd who can still earn certain rewards but at their own pace. Maybe put a 1000 or 1500 cap on tokens so hardcore players could grind for all 3 but casuals maybe could only get two? The time gated crap is stupid.

I logged on for the first time in a long time out of habit I went right away on my future War cult character and signed up then when I went to play my next character I immediately got incredibly angry. So now I'm stuck in future War cult. I already have all those items and the guys that need to still get pieces of gear for the other factions are frozen that way. PS whoever came up with the idea of not regenerating health because of faction Renown is a freaking idiot

2 RisposteWhat I want to know is, what is Dead Orbit still doing here? If they genuinely believe that leaving for the stars is the right thing to do, how long are they going to stand around talking about it before they actually leave? It would be cool if they actually did leave at some point and maybe bumped into something on their way and triggered some kind of unexpected threat. You’d have to replace them with a new faction, I guess, but I wouldn’t miss them. I already got my Graviton Lance catalyst.

I am going to predict the winners now... First FR: Dead Orbit Second FR: FWC Third FR: New Monarchy I think it was rigged because New Monarchy kept winning because of the cosmetics.

This wouldn't be that bad if it wasn't once a month for one week. If it would permanent it wouldn't matter, you could just do it as you go. I don't mind the idea of guaranteed rewards such as catalysts so long as you have a path for each one that isn't locked off most of the time. If I'm on vacation during the next rally, I'm screwed. The one thing I don't like is not being able to set each character to a faction. I liked sort of identifying certain characters of mine with a faction. Secondly, why aren't there more factions?

4 RisposteAnd so we can go back to not feeling threatened by the end of the event... I reached rank 50 yesterday but I feel so sorry for people who work longer hours. This event is just cruel. Also, every faction should have every catalyst but we can only take one per event. Factions should be active at all times. Faction Rally should simply be the time where players can switch factions.

Faction Rallies should have been tied to Gambit and it would have 3 teams at once DO vs NM vs FWC.

1 RispondiDO will win The First S3 Faction Rally ( Right now by 62% ) The funny thing is the next Faction Rally will not be DO. Because those peoples already have the GL Catalyst. They will go to FWC or NM. most likely FWC. So the next Faction rally winner will be FWC and after that NM. If you chose FWC now..you will never win any S3 Faction Rally..lol

3 RisposteSoooo, the pledge is account bound, and the progress is character bound that makes a shit ton of sense. I hope this is just a bug, and is fixed later. Other tower vendors don't behave that way. So if you want to get ornaments for all 3 classes that's 2,400 tokens

5 RisposteI dont mind that pledging is account based. The reason they made it this way is because pledging in previous rallies was pointless. You had 1 character pledge to each faction and no matter who won you still got the reward for cheap. Having faction/ornament progress be character bound is terrible. There isn't enough time in 1 week to grind out three separate character's ornament requirements unless you do nothing but play this game 16+ hours a day. If it stays this way, they should increase how long rallies are by at least a week. Also, having a specific Catalyst tied to a faction was a bad idea. It forces players to abandon their favorite faction for an entire rally to grind out that catalyst. I was fine this week because I prefer Dead Orbit and the Graviton Lance catalyst is great. But I'm going to have to pledge to New Monarchy next time for the Sunshot one if they dont change it. I think it would have been better to offer all 3 as a reward and you choose which one you want.

In the end the winner still doesn't matter. 50k or 5k glimmer for the gun, I'm always riding the glimmer cap anyways.

Renown should be able to be activated by equipping a faction emblem. I do NOT want any more renown as I have all FWC ornaments for all 3 characters and a fully upgraded Sunshot. I’m tired of killing my self 3x after a public event to remove the debuff. Especially during Escalation Protocol.
