Your not alone. I love destiny, both one and two. I’ve not had such a draw to D2 as I did D1 but that’s mostly due to life getting in the way and being behind.
What boggles my mind is how many people slated D1 all over these forums and beyond and now want it all back! People don’t realise that most (not all) of the changes we received were asked for. For example, people screamed that they wanted balance in crucible. We now have that more or less from what I can gather and what do they want? Old crucible. Don’t get me wrong, no one asked for smaller teams and lack of ability to choose game mode but still.
D2 is far from perfect just like D1 but it’s far from the crap fest people make it out to be.
P.s if anyone reading this claimed they’ll stop playing and that D2 is crap. Just stop playing. There’s no medal for announcing it.

I think D1 became what it should have been by the end, but my complaint is that very little of what Bungie accomplished by Rise of Iron carried over to Destiny 2. It shouldn't be an accomplishment that something like heroic strikes returned; that was a prerequisite, not a goal.

I understand that people felt like this wasn’t a step forward but a complete sidestep from D1. However, after ROI, people were still calling for a huge series of changes. They got them. More balance, less grind, a point to being in a clan, a point in taking part in public events, new reward system etc. What’s happened is people realise just how good D1 was after 3 years of slating it. I enjoy D2 but I imagine all the people slating it are the same that complained and made it what it is now.
