It's more of a meh thing to me.
Destiny as a whole introduced an interesting concept for a first person shooter and that's mainly the only reason I even play the game.
But there's nothing particularly special that drives me to play it more than other games, I just get bored and pop on every now and then.
It's weird how unlike every other game I play, even if I have everything I want in destiny, nothing in particular keeps me from wanting to play it at least a little.
I don't quite understand it.
Destiny 2 just feels like more of the same thing to me because I never cared about collecting or the lore.
Sure it was nice to have all that stuff, but I never cared for collectibles.
Destiny 2 in particular, is just missing something to make it a good game and I can't put my finger on it (I'm saying this because I don't care for random rolls or the original weapon system)
Destiny 2 just feels like it's missing the passion that destiny 1 had, as if they never even thought it would get this far, and it's weird to think that, but considering how bad their actions were for destiny 1, I'm sure even bungie is confused as to why we had any faith in them.
Liking the game is what everyone wants to do, and I'm sure despite all the things that say otherwise, that the people who hate this game only hate it because they want the game to be better, but too many people are clinging to their hatred and it clouds their judgement from ever really changing.
But the anger is easily justifiable as well which is understandable.
You like the game because it feels good to you, and that's how everyone feels, but it lacks the longevity and passion the old players want.
Myself included.
It's kind of like dark souls 3.
Even though it's still a good game, it just feels like it's lacking that creativity and passion that the prequels had.
It's too linear and the combat, although it has been improved, it just feels more simplified to allow for not as good players to get into it.
Just like the first 2 souls games, the third iteration (much like destiny 2) doesn't capture the feel of the first 2 games, but rather it feels like it's just trying to imitate what made them good, without adding anything new or really "improving the game"

Putting to words what I feel is different for me: In D1 was happy to just run around and shoot things. D2 is slower, and weapons are less effective. Changing that movement and needing more shots against anything made even horsing around in D2... maybe a chore? At least less fun.
