as per Paul Tassi of Forbes Magazine
"Destiny 2 is coming off accusations that the Eververse store is starting to take over the game. When Curse of Osiris arrived, it had just as many new items as the expansion itself hidden away in its Bright Engram loot boxes. Now, just two weeks later, The Dawning has dumped another 59 items into Eververse in a new, separate engram.
Here’s the breakdown:
5 pieces of armor (3x classes)
4 emotes (1 exotic)
10 Ghost Shells (1 exotic)
10 ships (2 exotic)
11 sparrows (2 exotic)
4 shaders
5 transmat effects"
How about instead of filling the Eververse with things we can get randomly by playing the game that we keep telling you needs to be made better, you actually provide in game content to earn some of this stuff.. have it as rewards and trophies for defeating engaging activities in the game.. at this point, i'm sure sprinkling it througout the game we already have would be a fresh idea but, what about adding in new heroic adventures, new side missions and quests, have us do things to earn rewards to show our accomplishments like we did in D1 and stop simply giving out gift baskets of random stuff simply for doing what ever it is those of us left do in Destiny week in and week out.
Edit 1. I go to sleep and get to work to check out the page and wow. Seems i'm not the only one feeling this way. I appreciate the support and I also appreciate the fact that so many of you are still caring enough about the game to continue to provide feedback... now about that "devils horn/metal" emote....

I think one issue no-one is really talking much about it that Activision is more than likely to blame with the direction Destiny has taken, it's not entirely Bungie's fault. I believe one of Activision's mandates for Destiny is to make it into a churn and burn franchise ala COD. The problem with that is that Destiny and it's fans (the ones who spend not only the time and money) aren't the same as COD fans... A distinction Activision is yet to understand and make. I was happy to drop a bit of coin on D1 Eververse because I felt it was justifiable due to the ever improving state of the game (speaking entirely from a PvE perspective), loads of incentive to play and it was relatively harmless. The same could have been said for D2, except that all the reasons I stated above no longer apply to D2 because of the way, I believe, Activision has directed the way in which D2 was made to cater to casuals and to turn it into a shallow "cookie cutter" cash grab... It's not P2W, but those cosmetic items are the incentive to play due to the total lack of depth in D2... And that's where the problem lies. I guess if there's one point any Destiny fan needs to get across, is that we're not the COD crowd, and Activision are missing that simple fact. Stop trying to make one of your best (potential) money makers into... Well... This mess, that may never recover unless you listen to the fans.

Honestly getting pissed myself, just spent forever farming engrams for the damn gift and got another re skinned sparrow. Same as yesterday.

Bungie: We've heard your complaints about too many items being in the eververse loot bo...I mean Luminous engrams. So now we are going to add even more items to the loot bo....I mean Lumious Engrams. Please understand that this money goes to line our pockets....I mean, goes to fund the live team so we can pay for more useless crap....I mean release future updates.

1 RispondiModificato da CannyJack: 12/21/2017 12:00:56 AMHow else can Bungie make money? Yeah, yeah, we all paid like a hundred dollars for the game, but what I’m saying is, “What have you done for Bungie lately?”
-
Another thing we shouldn't overlook is that the end game and rpg elements were intentionally dumbed down as to not compete with eververse. A player consumed with optimizing his build or occupied with traditional end game activities is not as likely to engage with "cosmetics" as much as one stuck in a game with nothing to do. I was in game development for 8 years and this type of scheming is commonplace now.

Having ghost shells, ships and sparrows ONLY in the Eververse store is just stupid. They could (and SHOULD) be available in faction packages, PE rewards and strikes etc. Sure, they can be rare drops, but they at least need to be options. Having only one source for these items is terrible. I'm really starting to hate Eververse.

1 RispondiWeapons should go behind eververse paywall as well.

JUST LET US CHOOSE PVP MODES BUNGIE. AND GIVE MORE PVP MAPS. IS THIS REALLY THAT HARD TO DO???

Is the Zypher sword a new item. Got it from that grumpy bastard on IO

Not going to argue, Eververse is getting crazy. But according to a few sources, actual game content, is handled by a different team than, Eververse stuff. I don't care either way, nothing in Eververse is important, I can do without all of it.

Rofl.. “locked behind a paywall”

Modificato da Eqitx: 12/20/2017 10:47:39 PMThe fun part of this brainless playerbase? If they see : "Exotics will be eververse only , next dlc " they would still defend this turd fiercely and play all day answering us " so what, you can play without exotics. Grind exp for a little chance, it's totally fine" 😆 Poor game

22 RisposteModificato da puppyk1sses: 12/20/2017 7:50:27 PMThere’s a total of 63 chances at Dawning gear /emotes/ghosts/ships/sparrows just by doing the daily gift quests on all 3 chars. Plus the 10 or so Dawning engrams you get in all weekly resets for 3 weeks. Plus every single item in the pool will be sold for dust which we all have just for playing the game.

5 RisposteModificato da ferial56: 12/20/2017 9:25:16 PMIronically, the grind is actually there. The thing is that all players can get that stuff by literally playing the game, and whatever you want. Play the game, kill enemies, do strikes and activities to earn XP, and you get a loot box with a CHANCE to earn your item. All the Eververse items are available, you just need to put the time in. You can get all of the items without spending a single penny. But the problem, I think, is that your chance is so unbelievably small. How many items are there compared to the ONE thing you want? Not to mention the incentive for purchasing, which is easily a problem. One can go for months without getting the one thing they want despite all their effort. They put so much effort into Eververse times that it almost rivals the amount of weapons/armour actual added into the game through the expansion. I swear, there were Eververse items added in CoO then the actual items added in. Sure feels like it. Sounds like the gjhallarhorn farm, the REVENANT SHADER FARM, all that stuff. The bright dust does help of course, but you still have to wait for the item to be sold and farm the engrams to get the bright dust. Maybe if they somehow distributed these Eververse items throughout the game, like how it is with the ornaments. Player will know EXACTLY what they want to play to grind for. Plus it would give more incentive. On top of that, strike exclusive loot and crucible game exclusive loot would be nice. That stuff was awesome in D1.

Agreed. Really tired of Eververse. Want the thrill I felt back when my King's Fall ghost shell dropped.

D2 is like politics, nothing will ever change no matter who you vote.
