First rally I went with Dead Orbit and hit the limit and never got a full armour set. Am missing the chest and legs but got all the guns. This rally I went with New Monarchy and got all the armour except the arms and hit the cap already. Also got the new scout and hand cannon but no new sniper. What I did get was a bunch of multiple helmets, cloaks and boots and guns and even guns and armour that has nothing to do with the faction. Bungie needs to get rid of the limit because rng sucks so bad that you aren't guaranteed to get a full set and they also need to take out non faction rewards.

The entire system is crap. This is what it should be.... When you choose a faction you get an emblem and a class item to properly represent them. Every 20 tokens u can choose if u want a weapon engram or an armor engram. All weapons and armor in the loot pool should also be able to be purchased through legendary shards. Add ships and sparrows.

4 RisposteModificato da Corrick II: 11/8/2017 11:07:57 PMWow. How many people here even played Destiny 1? You're not used to RNG yet? If you aren't you never will be. I spent three years playing, never got a full VoG set on any class.
-
1 RispondiWhat were they actually thinking with the cap?! Also, 21/30 of my rewards were dupes or not part of the faction. I am still missing 5 pieces for a full set of weapons and armor, which I might not be able to get again. So much for a collection game.
-
1 RispondiNo matter the game, RNG based progression or rewards is always a slap to the face to all players... yes you get lucky sometimes and some people are easily "hooked" by pseudo gambling mechanics in games like this, but ultimately it just reduces the reward level for skill or dedication. its a cheap and shallow way for developers to artificially makeup for a lack of real thought more often than not. a pathetic crutch that really shows just how little effort they put into the reward system. Destiny 2 is almost entirely RNG based when it comes to progression. the only non RNG factor is experience and token earning. everything else, is luck. There will always be players left behind because of stupid choices like this. Add on Microtransactions lootboxes, which have been 100% just an attempt to screw people over for 10 years, and you start seeing the real value any Developer or company places on their game... Ultimately people have been losing out on stuff due to RNG in games for over two decades... so believe me when i heart fully state that i despise RNG in general.

Crap is not having the ability to buy the missing piece of armor (most likely you'll miss one or two) after leveling up, or weapon. Same with IB. Ridiculous. For as much as I enjoy small talk and listening to the stars with Jalaal over a cup of coffee, this kind of slot machine reward will keep me from ever doing it again.
-
2 RisposteKind of served me right though, as I've been using the Winding Cove/The Weep lost sector loot box glitch to get about 800 tokens. No way I was going to make the same mistake as last time by grinding though every activity every day only to end up with the same stuff over and over. Instead I spent about 2 hours whilst listening to music. Still didn't get the auto rifle, though!
-
1 RispondiIt is, I could easily have 4000 legendary shards by now if it didn't!
-
Yep absolutely stupid and me not knowing about the cap just kept grinding for sweet F..K ALL!
-
2 RisposteYup. All I wanted was the Dead Orbit coat for my warlock and I literally got everything except for that. About 2 hours of running back and forth in a cave for nothing..
-
2 RisposteIt's a cheap time wasting tactic to keep you on the hamster wheel.
-
1 RispondiThey need to remove the non faction based drops from the faction engrams. Under no circumstances should I receive a “faction engram” that doesn’t even give me anything related to my faction. I’m screwed out of getting the helmet for FWC, since I didn’t get it between the first TWO rallies and now the seasons going to change, which will change their gear offerings.
-
1 Rispondi100% agree. It's ridiculous that after 30 rank ups, no sidearm. Leaves such a bad taste in my mouth
-
4 RisposteThis is my first rally since I started the game late, chose Dead Orbit as my rally (GO SPACE EMOS) and was completely focused on farming and getting every piece of Dead Orbit specific gear. Got every weapon (some of them more than I should have... Escape Velocity) and ALMOST every piece of armor. Except the chestpiece. I got 1 helmet, 1 gauntlet, 4 legs and 6 bonds (cause warlock). But not a single chestpiece. And I just found out about the 30 engram limit. Why would you put a limit on something that is completely rng based and give out booby gear with em. Know what I find weird about this, the description for the engrams. "This engram will contain one faction item, as well as faction shaders and one additional reward." I think we can all agree that not every engram you get guarantees a faction item, despite the description claiming it does. I can only imagine how pissed off the PC players are about this..
-
2 RisposteTo me, it's just another example of a badly designed game mechanic working at cross purposes to itself. They roll out a new Faction Rally, ostensibly to keep players playing or bring other ones back with the promise of new loot, then they cap the player's engram intake, essentially erase token farms, and on top of that, dilute the loot pool with all sorts of nonfaction items. Crazy.
-
1 RispondiIt's crap when you hand in 30 engrams and never get the boots or the cloak. I feel trolled.
-
4 RisposteI don't understand why we can't just use the tokens to buy what we want to fcking buy. Turn in 20 tokens, pick one reward and also be given some shaders. If you can only rank up 30 times, you should be able to get the full armor set and weapons by then. You still grind for them, and you'll get what you want. I don't understand why the token system doesn't work like this right now.
-
2 RisposteWhat if you max out in one faction, make a new character and chooses a new faction? Would there still be a limit?
-
I’ve capped out on tokens 6 times now (3 chars, both rallies). 5 full sets, 1 set 4/5. All weapons. I didn’t think it was too bad at all.
-
17 RisposteI wonder if any of you guys actually read things before you hit post? I'm not criticising the OP per se, it's just since this game came out the biggest complaint from everyone on here was "there's nothing to do. Where's the grind?" You now have a cap and to get more gear you need to grind milestones etc for the chance of getting the gear and now the forums are full of "tired of the grind" threads. If they allowed you to buy the gear (like they did in Iron Banner in Destiny 1) I'm sure a lot of people would be over the moon. Yet I would guarantee the forums would be swamped in complaints that the gear is too easy to get now. If you ever find yourself wondering why people at Bungie ignore 99% of threads it's because.... you don't know what you want.

1 RispondiModificato da Anointedone: 11/10/2017 2:55:59 PMI opened 100 tokens worth of NM packages, got the full Titan set. #roflcopter keep grinding noobs. Maybe if you didn’t exploit tokens, karma wouldn’t want to bend you over.
-
Can you still turn in tokens during Victory Week? If so, does the faction engram cap reset during it?
-
This is why you cheese! Why bother putting in the time just to get duplicates of the same garbage we get from any other vendor the rest of the month. The game has its problems, but the RNG system literally makes you hate this game.
-
2 Risposte60 engrams for Dead orbit hunter, no helm.
-
8 Rispostewell, on one hand you have the player that is farming tokens and not playing the events to get faction rep. so you could look at it like this is Bungie's was of keeping a leash on the player that is cheesing the event. this kind of player has an abundance of time to play games and will often exploit every chance they are given to cut out the stick and get the carrot sooner. Bungie wants Destiny 2 to have a longer life with the base game and each subsequent dlc that is going to be released. they learned as much in Destiny that players would actively seek out the easiest way to accomplish the goals that they set out in their shared universe, so they have taken action to limit the loot available from these public events. on the other hand, you have the player that is actively running faction bounties and joining public events to get tokens. you could look at it as if Bungie has set a goal to reach when collecting tokens. one engram is roughly twenty tokens. {1(20)=1}*30=600 it takes 600 tokens to reach the engram cap. 5 tokens for heroic public, 9 for enemy supplies, 3 for lost sectors... what i am getting at is that the average player has a couple of hours a night to sit down and play a game. Bungie has made it a feasible and attainable goal to have a chance to get the gear of the faction that you have pledged to. not a bad trade off. you can pick that apart to point out the issues and problems with the loot tables and what have you, but the system works.
-
Yes and no. it wouldn't be an issue if the RNG was better and if there wasn't a method to grind all the coins in an hour to reach the cap. (This is in no way a dig at people doing that, I did it).
-
Opened 30 packages for DO and still no full armor set. That’s after two rallies.
