Title says it all.
Quick edit: 2000 upvotes. I'm stunned. I'm happy to get this out there, because it's clear people want it. To address a few things that have been stated.
I love playing control right now. A couple maps needs their CPs moved, but I'm having fun with IB.
Also, I don't think we should just get all the gear in a day. I think that if RNG is involved it should be at match end and that leveling the vendor gets us ever closer to maybe a couple guaranteed gear pieces like D1. That way we have something to work towards.
I hope this gets addressed soon. We can get non IB gear anywhere else, we don't want it when we grind for hours and play fiercely to win matches.
Late night edit: look guys I know it's easy to get mad at the Devs and namecall, but I'm reading through some of this and it isn't how we get noticed by the right people. We need to keep up voting this and keep it constructive if we want to see this changed.
Final Edit: 4600 upvotes. This is absolutely insane. In the spirit of full transparency after 20 hours and 17 packages I completed my Titan armor set. I am only sharing this because I have it equipped and figured I'd look like a hypocrite. I still stand by the original thought of this post. 20 hours is a long time in comparison to faction rallies, which was an event that I felt like the token system worked well for. I'd love to see some changes in the future to IB rewards and look forward to hearing what Bungie comes up with. Best of luck in the crucible guardians.

Popped another 4 boxes last night. Got IB helm. Scum gloves scum legs scum bond. If they didn’t have scum loot added into a seasonal event I’d have nearly the whole set! Oh and every box gave a fusion rifle too. Just because weapon duplicates on top of a scum loot table is lolz and proves bungie has failed and will continue to fail in their seasonal event delivery methods. #boggle #whybungiepushscumlootonus

1 RispondiThere should be no non iron banner rewards. And If I can't get more than two piece grinding for an entire day straight what chances do the casuals have getting the armor. If the hardcore players can get all the gear in one day then so be it.

2 RisposteKeep it as it is we get one IB piece per rank. This way we can have an event that would last all week other then getting all drops the first day or 2 then be done with IB.

I opened 16 packages & had 5 pieces of armour drop so far got the arms twice & managed to obtain 4 of the weapons with many duplicates smh

1 RispondiI feel the same way. It's crazy the time we put in just for junk. No in game drops like before. I guess they just want us all to give up our lives for this game. Plus I've already started getting duplicates. Have opened 7 packages and got one piece of iron banner gear. I'm not sure what bungie is do I g but this is not working. Feels lime more of a job then a game.

3 RisposteI agree with everything you say here but the responses are hilarious.Most complaints I’ve seen about D2 is that they have taken away the grind but now,because people are not getting the stuff they want from IB they are complaining about the.......grind 😂

5 RisposteD1 v. D2 iron banner loot 1. You have the chance of getting the entire armor set and arsenal in one week instead of getting a set of two armor pieces and two guns every month. 2. The non iron banner gear that is dropping from the engrams is bonus loot. You get one iron banner item and the chance of getting another random legendary item aside from that. Every in game "vendor" engram behaves this way and the issue only seems to matter now and is magnified because the desire for iron banner loot is greater across the entire community compared to other items. I leveled up past 10 and never did I once open an engram and not get an iron banner item. To avoid only using my own situation as an example, i looked up several youtube videos of iron banner engram openings and each engram granted one random piece of iron banner gear every time. 3. D1 items dropped with randomized set of perks that were specific to that gun or armor set. I'd rather spend time going for an entire armor set on a dedicated week and miss out on a couple guns and pieces that have set perks because i know exactly what I'm missing and once i get it i dont have to worry about getting a inferior version and wait another 4 months before having the chance of getting the optimal version of the specific item (desired perks). The fixed perks on items allows players to build a gear path for themselves and seek out specific gear that will suit their desired play style/appearance/ build without having to waste extra time having to aim for the same item after alrdy having obtained it once. 4. No random end game iron banner rewards after completing a match. Didn't players complain about team mates that getting drops despite their minimal contribution? 5. Fixed perks and attributes on items allow bungie to balance the game better because then they can replace a perk on a specific weapon in order to fine tune the way it performs. This way blanket nerfs of perks or their removal can be avoided. Fixed perks also allow for a clearer progression path for players. I don't know about the rest of you but i rather spend time practicing with a weapon that has fixed perks and seeing if it suits my play style rather than wasting my time going for the optimal perk combination on a gun with an already low drop rate and conforming with a mediocre version of it because i alrdy spent numerous hours on a playlist for the chance of having it drop at all. 5. The only true fix i can see to the loot system when it comes to redeeming tokens for faction engrams is giving player the choice between an armor or weapon engram. That is all.

7 RisposteOr, keep the token system, but then put a price on the items. About 50 tokens per item would seem fair. When I have opened 19 packages and gotten 5 class items, it is a bit disheartening.

I grinded hard to get the 10 packages for the season one rewards. All I got was an emblem. It becomes more and more clear to me what a giant epic waste of time this game actually is considering our light level means diddly-squat anywhere in the game whether it's Crucible or PVE. For the most part all of my other games I can build a character and have this nice powerful character but in Destiny it doesn't matter how powerful your character is because the enemy will always be just as powerful if not more powerful

Agreed, and bump, I don't get a lot of gaming time these days and I love Iron Banner (IB), but I don't have time to grind it like I used to. Reaching level 5 in D1 IB was never a problem but this is straight grind-fest. If Faction Rally was any indicator of what IB will be like no armor will ever drop and half the weapons will be from the Vanguard pool.

5 RisposteSoo what ever happened to Iron Banner gear dropping at a slightly higher light lvl like in D1 it at least made the grind worth it even if the gear wasn't good we could always infuse, now it's just crucible... there is no point, D2 was suppose to be better then D1... but this iron banner (and other D2 NEW stuff) feels like destiny took a few HUGE... steps back.... not forward...

I just want some of the armor this time lol could only get two pairs of boots and a shit ton of GL. I know I still have a lot of time just not looking too good so far.

iron banner is a complete waste of time crappy weopons and you cant even power up,wasnt even anything for completing the quest just wasted 3 days for nothing

2 RisposteI'm not even grinding for the Hunter Gear its mobility...forget looks I want gear that actually helps me in end game content...for example raid gear for Titan is mobility....pointless...but Trials gear for Titan is Armour....so I do trials to get gear to do the raid :| The drop rate on IB is poor but unless your doing a fashion parade its not the gear for what the end game needs in my opinion anyway so it means I play Banner for fun not the grind.

I agree with what you're saying, I grinded through the whole banner and got two pieces of armor, and a completely worthless emblem with a wolf. You'd think for all that grind, putting up with cheaters etc, you'd get something good Lol Awww well
