I used to love Destiny, but then - through a gradual process - it became too hard (for this old dude anyway). Instead of being clever, fun and challenging it has become impossible to the point where even at 277 no one will let me do the raid because 'even at 300 it's too hard'.
We just wasted 4 hours trying to get the nightfall done - one 280, one 290 and one 300. For a 240 level strike? The enemies are unkillable, the boss is invisible most of the time, seems to regenerate his health and, when you do get killed you respawn in an area that will immediately kill you again.
Stop focusing on making it harder to do and make it fun again. The early raids were great fun and quite doable.

4 RisposteHey bud if you wanna raid or nightfall we do it every week multiple times. Did the raid 3 times this week and the nightfall about 6 to help my clan. If you feel like joining we are all adults and can help with whatever. Let me know GT: Mr Pwnzor

I like the difficulty of the enemies in the NF however the timer makes it less enjoyable on the whole. I like to kill adds and enjoy tough mini boss challenges. Forcing a speed run is a bummer. I agree that there is a challenge to it but it kills the NF for me personally. BTW telling a casual player that they are not good enough is just pathetic and unhelpful. Keep personal attacks to yourself.

1 RispondiThoroughly enjoying D2 but NFS is too hard when you include the timer for a lot of players. NFS was fun and hard in D1 nobody minded the enemies been bullet sponges because the time bar was not driving you decision making, it is now. It can be easily fixed with a slight mod from Bungie. Finish +5 min to spare gear drops at power level +5 Finish with <5 min but some time left gear drops at +2 Miss the timer the game goes on but gear power level drops 15-20 min normal power gear 20-25 min power gear -2 25-30 min plus normal legendary gears after 30 min start again This way every one gets something for there effort and there still is a good prize for the really good players but the wider playing community is not excluded.

1 RispondiModificato da Alvin Thwait: 9/25/2017 12:27:57 PMThe problem here is it doesn't seem you have put thought into a game plan. This nightfall for example, you need to locate as many of the anomolies as you can. You may need to go in and just do a reccy for a few goes. You then need to assign 1 person to take out the anomolies while the others clear the pikes, clear adds & take the energy lights. Concentrate all fire on one servator at a time and just clear adds on the part ghost needs time to open the door. When you get to the boss room have your one guy stay outside getting as many of the anomolies as they can while the others clear adds. Depending on what characters are in the nightfall you need to decide who is damaging boss and who is clearing adds. If you have celestial nighthawk on a hunter the other 2 of you should be just trying to use your supers to create orbs for him/her as 3-4 shots and the boss is down to a third health. Use fission rifles to damage boss but make sure 2 of you are on top of adds. Done. Gone are the days you could all just bulldoze your way through everything. This isn't Destiny 1 anymore!!

I'll help you through the raid if you're on PSN. Send me a PM.

I just don't like the timer with it. It can be really frustrating. The timer in my opinion should only be on the prestige mode. I get that the nightfall shouldn't be easy but the timers for it just get so frustrating. Have a timer in the regular mode but make it so that you don't have to beat the nightfall in that time span but if you do you get better rewards. Just my thoughts on it
-
I disagree, went into the nightfall completely blind and completed it first try with around 3 minutes left. Swords and supers are the way to go for that one. The raid is purely mechanical, first time around you're like wtf why is this hard, once you get it it becomes super easy.
-
Add me on Psn I'll carry you thru nightfall and raid on first try easy.
-
The raid is easy Really easy But still more fun than the last raid in D1 (forgot his name) and more fun than Croat end
-
I'm not going to say that the Nightfall was "hard". The choice of modifiers, the timer, and the anomalies as time reclaimers was frustrating. I too went in with 3 clanmates at or above 280 light. After the second attempt we all realized that the effort was not worth the reward and just stopped attempting it. In comparison, last week I did the Nightfall with one clanmate and a fellow Montana native who we found randomly. It was challenging, but we completed it on the second attempt with a minute left... and it was FUN. This Nightfall was just poorly designed and I hope Bungie learns from this and designs future Nightfalls better. Bungie, just sticking a timer, some way to recoup time, and bullet sponge bosses on to just any old strike does not work. Plan better.

Man/woman, they are not hard, just not fun.

Out of interest what guns were you using? In d1 gun choice was a massive part of the end game dps. Switching between guns to suit encounters was vital. Although right now the mida twins seem very impressive. Still waiting to so the raid and our nf run timed out after the ring jumping fiasco. Not been back. Also pardon my ignorance. 1 crucible win as a two man team and the clan gets a reward? Seems a bit out of alignment there compared to completing a nf or a 7 win trials card. Just saying

I just made a post that the raid and nightfall were made for children, not gamers. Shit is WAY too easy....like....40 min raid and 10 min nightfall.... All content done in less than an hour...

I was of the same opinion (kind of) a week or so ago. For Nightfall's: There's always a video out a day or two after reset showing the best strat and where anomalies are if they're in that particular week's NF. If you have a couple of friends on your list, try to organise to run it with them. Of course not everyone has people they can, or want to play with, so there's always LFG. Whilst not always successful, it is possible. But when you do get there, it's a good feeling, so don't give up, just find the right group. For the Raid: Again, the keys are power and communication. I know it says you can do it at a lower light level, and if your team knows what they are doing, it's totally possible to do with little issue... And once you get everything down (roles and communication), it's actually not that hard, it's just technical. For those still struggling, hang in there. I know it seems impossible and no fun right now, but once you get into a good team, it will all make sense and become less frustrating. There's a reason Bungie is putting an emphasis on Clans... You are better off in one, but if you have social anxieties I understand this is daunting. Look around... Try a couple of clans, I mean what's the worst that can happen? You don't like it, you leave. Good luck Guardians!

If you need help with the raid me and my clan would be glad to help your level doesn't matter to us

Ran it using 2 warlocks (267, 276) and a hunter (286). Beat it with 38 secs left. Found that the healing rifts of the warlock helped save time by not having to focus on reviving and allowed more time to clear adds or dps boss. Hunter also had helmet that reloaded when stepping in their rift.

It took my group 5 attempts to get my 3 chars through the NF but we got there in the end. The first two attempts we were just getting to grips with anomaly positions and which enemies we could run past and which ones we had to kill. The part where you're defending the ghost can be tricky but you have to take care of them shanks or they can cause some serious issues and deaths. This goes for the final boss room aswell on our first attempt we had the boss to about 1/5 health and our time ran out! In the final boss room it's just DPS boss, adds, DPS boss, adds and repeat. I found using a sword on this encounter helped with the boss DPS so much, I was getting 3 swipes and 3 uppercuts into the boss every phase and it was taking chunks on his health. Co-ordinate supers aswell to maximise DPS. Managed to complete it on 3 chars and on one occasion we had 10:47 left on the clock when we downed him!

7 RisposteI'm not sure about the raid, but I can say that there has never been a Nightfall so incredibly -blam!-ing atrocious in every imaginable way. Last week was fairly fun, this week is just a -blam!-ing nightmare. 15 minutes? Boss with invincibility phases? A Walker with two Heavy Shanks and 4+ Pikes? There is genuinely nothing WORSE throughout the 4+ years Destiny as a whole has run.

Regarding the Nightfall, I am not a big fan of the timer concept BUT I think I can get use to it. In D1, we finished many Nightfalls in under 10 minutes. That being said, this week's Nightfall (Exodus Crash) was very much a chore. Having a timed strike with a bullet sponge boss that spends about half the time NOT even on the playing field, not to mention invisible most the time when he is present, does take a lot of the fun away. This particular strike needs some tweaks: The boss should NEVER leave the playing field, maybe just teleport away (aka Arkon Priest). And like most harder activities, more ammo drops ESPECIALLY power ammo - bullet sponges take a lot of bullets which we often do not have. Regarding the Raid, it is hard but it does get easier as you get more experience (except for lack of ammo on the later boss damage phases). That being said, you just have to grind other activities (milestone and RNG exotic drops for high level gear) to get your light up with good gear. I will admit that I think this raid is less fun than the D1 raids (maybe due to the lack of rewards) although I do appreciate some of the mechanic changes such as the revive system (but maybe with a 1 minute timer before shared fate wipe). Perhaps my opinion will change over time - let's hope (hint, hint) Bungie does something about ammo and rewards. But if you are stuck with LFG for a raid team, you may be out of luck (re: unrealistic raid requirements that will exclude anyone that has not already beaten it). Hopefully you have a small group of friends, then you can recruit from LFG and hopefully increase your group until you have a regular team of 6 (or more). Otherwise, you may have to luck into a group on LFG that is short one and then try to join them (their clan) if they are cool about it.

If you spent 4 hours trying to do the nightfall with a 280, 290, and 300
you and your team are the problem
3 RisposteModificato da Lucozade85: 9/25/2017 12:05:13 PMI don't mind helping out if you're on the Xbox. I've helped a bunch out this week. EDIT - For the Nightfall that is, I haven't had the time to complete the raid yet, got to Calus in the first week and haven't had time since.
-
3 RisposteI agree. I used to enjoy soloing the Nightfall in Destiny 1 because too often at the times I can play the game, no one is around or wants to do any of the activities. So I would take my time and slowly get through the Nightfalls. Now its timed. Which is bull****. Nightfalls are impossible to solo now. Why do they NEED to be timed? There should be an option. Or a challenge if you complete it under a certain time. But to FORCE you to complete it in a certain amount of time is just stupid.

My Clan is 30+ and we do everything ;)

The night fall scales to your powerlevel so if your 280 for you it will scale to 280 if your 240 it will be at 240 if your 239 it will be 240

Ran nf with a couple of quality pve players and we struggled a lot. Had to change the way we played just for this. If it's what bungie wants then so be it, but a lot of players are just put off by the timer factor. End of D1 timer was great for the extra reward, but early D1 you could solo any nf with a dose of patience.
