Tonight my Rottweiler/German Shepherd, Athena, had to be euthanized due to complications from kidney failure.
She was only 2 1/2. Way too young to say goodbye. My wife and kids are devastated. Truth be told so am I. But I have to stay strong for them.
Athena was smart as a whip, loyal to a fault, playful, loving, protective... I can't believe she's gone.
I always wondered why people would come to places like this and express their pain. I understand now. It's cathartic to share your thoughts with people that think like you in times like this, even if some of those people might use this opportunity to say something cruel. It doesn't matter.
