The beta has plenty of threads going up at the moment. Most of them are people who accidentally took a shower in salt water instead of regular water this morning, but there is definitely plenty of feedback out there.
Regardless of the beta's issues (edit: I do think that the beta does have a few issues), are we all able to agree that the Homecoming mission is by far a step in the right direction for story missions?
There's actual cinematics, you can see NPCs fighting in-game, and you can even revive Commander Zavala if he dies.
And Ghaul seems like a pretty menacing villain already when compared to the lack of a "real" villain in Destiny 1's vanilla story. Edit: Not saying Ghaul is like an amazing villain, just saying when compared to D1 he's better.
Even if Destiny 2's story isn't anything groundbreaking, it already looks better then Destiny 1's story, in my opinion.
Edit: Not trying to say that it's the best mission in any game ever or something, just saying it's much better than Destiny 1.
Edit 2: A lot of people are getting the message that I think negativity is just salt because of my "took a shower in salt water" comment above. This isn't the case at all.
I'm all for negativity if it helps the game. The salt water comment was just a sarcastic joke about the people saying "F U Bungie, the beta is trash." That has no useful feedback whatsoever. The same goes for positive feedback. Saying "Fantastic beta Bungie, good job!" is nice and all, but it doesn't explain why the beta was good, thus it doesn't really have any feedback.
Multiple people now have misunderstood my original point, so I just wanted to clarify this. I don't think negativity is just salt, it was just a joke is all.

I liked the mission and the graphics were nice too. Visited the farm and I love graphically what I saw, nice detail, lots of foliage etc, so if the rest of EDZ is like it then I have found my new home. Much better than the strike planet. I found that very underwhelming and boring.

Definetly, that mission was awesome. Like vanilla destinys first met ttks first (probably 2 of my favourite missions), and if thats what the first 2 look like I cant wait to see the rest.

Modificato da CatMan: 7/24/2017 7:47:14 AMLel I was on reddit watching this video with my nephew. He screamed so loud XD "NO NO NO NOOOOOOOOO!". So I decided to load up the strike for myself to see if the Marauders actually do that. I couldn't see one move like that again, but EPIC!!! I'll say it again, pve is going to be good (weapon system aside). Bungie should do some really scary stuff for Halloween.

2 RisposteIt was a step in the right direction. There are some presentation nit picks, like the Cabal ships in the cinematics not matching the ships in the mission, the command ship we see from the tower not matching the command ship we board, and some missing pauses in dialog (most notably Shax's entire exchange), but overall not bad. Good enough that I would like to see more.

1 RispondiSay what you feel. Dont need to edit your post cause some ppl come at your neck about YOUR opinion. You are allowed to see it how you see it. In the scope of Destiny universe i agree, its the best mission so far and i think theyll have a few more that will impress too. D2 has some flaws but one thing its absolutely nailed are the set pieces for the game.

5 RisposteModificato da HaouRyuk: 7/24/2017 1:58:43 AMNo, you're right, it's just pretty much "salt" half of the complaints are completely unfounded. There is a problem with ammo, and it's supposedly being fixed. Low weapon damage? No, the weapons work fine, you're not an over leveled super guardian, you're level 20 and the enemies are higher, you can still one shot enemies with weapons, abilities and supers, the others die quickly as well, very few even require you to reload. (I mean scathelocke and sweet business can take down 3-4 enemies before a reload, nightshade kills in between 2-3 bursts just as D1 would, hand cannons are between 1-2 on average...only big types and yellow bars require a a medium amount of bullets) PVP? Well, it's team based, it was always supposed to be, but weapons rolls and over powered abilities negated it, hence why abilities now have a longer cool down and some do less damage...who needs team mates if you can kill enemies with a single attack, and two shot everything that walks at you? Love or hate it the new system makes it much easier for bungie to fix, balance, and keep in line, not to mention they can separately change pvp and pve, and it works fine. I'd rather deal with a new system than deal with one that's been broken as hell for nearly 3 years straight. People wanted them the work more on the story, so far, it looks like they are, people wanted more things to do on the planets..done, a more balanced crucible it's too soon to tell but it looks promising, people wanted more customization, i could be wrong but a looking at the UI inspection it looks like each armor piece, weapon, ship, and sparrow get it's own shader..a big improvement. Honestly this wasn't a beta, it was basically just a stress test and an old build at that, and i think people are being WAY too harsh, I'm all for constructive criticism but again you're right saying "F U Bungie, the beta is trash" or "the beta sucks because i can't do this specific thing" is just not helpful...

The story mission, strike, Titan's new void abilities and the exotic Sunshot were what I liked. The story looks to be incredible. The rest... Well if you can't say anything nice...
-
Modificato da Thane: 7/24/2017 5:51:29 AMWell you said it. "Even if D2's story isn't anything ground breaking". Generally people do NOT seek mediocrity and the bar is sooo low when it comes to D1's narrative. No amount of Cinematics can help their case (irrelevant solution). Maybe just maybe the problem lies in either the WAY they push the narrative/world building or the "Destiny universe" itself isn't all that great (originality issues).

1 RispondiThis makes me even sadder by the lost opportunity that Oryx has as a great villian, the one we kill in the game is a joke compared to the one in the grimore. I hope that you are rigth and now that there is no grimore the great villians in there will be portraited in game.
-
Modificato da GrannyHotPants: 7/24/2017 5:29:33 AMHomecoming is excellent. The Inverted Spire is meh. Bit of a ripoff of The Nexus and Eye of a Gatelord missions. Uninspired. PvP is fun, but exclusively 4v4 is lame as hell. Overall, Bungie fail. This will be the franchise killer.
-
My only complaint (if you could even call it that) is how long abilities take to recharge in pve. Although I can live with it, I wish it was just a bit faster. That said, this is only a beta build, and I'm pretty sure there will be some tweaks made before the actual launch of D2. And there could even be armor with perks that speed it up, so there's not any real reason to be concerned at this point.
-
I just hope they actually focus on pve for once instead of everything being about PVP
-
1 RispondiHere's one thing that isn't bad in Destiny 2: Destiny 2.
-
Being able to play with NPCs is nice. All we ever got in Destiny 1 was that one Nightstalker hunter whose Ghost died and then he died before you could save him of course, and then of course you only see that if you played a hunter and did the Nightstalker quest. I'm really happy that we can grab ledges though. No longer (or, at least, less frequently) will my Warlock jump be the death of me when I miss a ledge by the width of a human hair.

19 Risposte1. Not a Beta its a demo. 2. Alot of good things are in it. A. Ledge grabbing B. Sub classes C. Weapon variety and types. 3. No major complaints here A. Weapon damage feels a tad low. B. Crucible feels different but its okay. C. I find the new AI's voice annoying. 4. The one strike we get to play is amazing. A. Miles above anything previouse. B. Loads of variety. C. Omg that boss fight. 5. People will always complain about the bad and completely ignore the good. 6. Everyone please can we just wait to play the full game before we hate on it. 7. This is just a demo. A small snippet of what we can expect. Let us hold our collective horses please. 8. Love you all.

People need to realize that this build is an older build of the game

12 RisposteHas no-one noticed how Ghaul looks uncannily like an inflated Titan, even down to his modesty towel or whatever that thing is they have between their legs...I think we should be told! A golden-age mutant Titan? Could be...
-
Although Bungie had literally nowhere to go but up in the storytelling department, the Homecoming mission is certainly a step in the right direction. It made sense, involved the NPCs, looked great, made sense, and did not require that I read 6 hours of Grimoire before loading in. And get this, I am fairly confident that Ghaul said more in his 30-second "Bane" impression than did all of D1's villains combined (Black Garden Goo, Atheon, Crota, Skolas, Oryx, Siva, and Aksis). That is laughably comical, on the one hand, but certainly refreshing on the other.
-
4 RisposteThe new loadout system is pretty lit.
-
Modificato da BodyWr3k: 7/24/2017 3:05:24 AMThe story was the only thing I have said is good in this beta. I truly believe the story is going to be great. It's just unfortunate that the rest of the core gameplay has been ruined for me. Because of the new weapon system I won't be buying Destiny 2 no matter if the story is good. I need to see some drastic changes otherwise I will experience the story for free from cutscenes on YouTube.
-
In terms of gameplay and gear, I think the game is arguably worse than the first game. Arguably, I personally don't see much of a difference to take a side. But in terms of everything else, I think it's great. Most of the complaints are about the gameplay and balance, which isn't even surprising. But when it comes to the games actual content, I think it will be fantastic.
-
11 RisposteI think every possible aspect of the game seems to be on par or better than D1. PvP? Better in every possible way. PvE? On par with D1 (though we've only had one strike). It needs a bit faster cooldowns. Story? Cannot physically be worse than D1 And remember: these isn't even the latest build, let alone final!!
-
Modificato da RebelJack: 7/23/2017 9:51:38 PMHonestly I'm practically happy with what they did most of the salt is from pvp try hard who can't get their easy stick and ditch kills or sit in the back of a sniping lane with icebreaker bodyshotting then hitting with a palindrome or easyluna. Now they actually have to think strategically not depend on god roll weapons.
-
5 RisposteBungie confirmed that D2 will have more than 50 cutscenes. That's probably good.
-
The only good thing about that mission is the first cutscene. The rest is just more of the same: kill a bunch of enemies and move forward.
-
Ghaul just looks like a giant unggoy.
