Cooldowns, secondaries, heavies, movement speed and abilities all seemed to be either ruined or lackluster for nothing more than balance in PVP.
Bungie again has proved they learned nothing these past years after constant nerfs and flat out disappointing choices.
Again we see weak grenades terrible cooldowns and now we have two primaries. Heavy weapons? What are those?
PVP seems to be the priority. I don't understand it, most games pretty much all know how to separate the two. Bungie however seems to build and dampen the entire game on how PVP treats players and TTK.
So far D2 beta is a disappointment.
Unless they increase grenades and melee damage, increase ammo economy, change some of those God awful perks and ability nodes, increase movement speed (Titan and warlock jump) and for the love of God SEPARATE PVP AND PVE FOR THE MILLIONTH TIME!!!!
I don't see this game being very successful at -blam!-ing all.....
They still have a lot to learn. Seriously destiny is mainly PVE game, it's not on any tournaments, no ranked play or even e sports from what I know. Why they concentrate so hard on it is beyond me. How many times did they nerf an entire weapon class bc ppl in crucible where crying?
Sorry bungie but this is the truth and you better learn to know it if you want us to enjoy the game or even buy it.
I played the beta and have a ton of hours played on destiny 1 so I deff know what I'm talking about. From thorn burns to firebolt burns it's going to take more than a self Rez to keep this thing alive.

A bump to say I agree with you, there was no reason to move fusion rifles, and shotguns to a heavy slot they are pure situational they can only be effectively used up close and in the face of the person so what is with this terrible decision? I can understand snipers to an extent on the heavy slot because you don't want people sitting back all game just sniping, that I can understand! However, Bungie has turned the game into a situation where we will get people constantly bunched up together just hogging around corners and waiting for one unlucky guy to make a play just for him to be effortlessly mowed down simply because there are no means for a truly talented player to actually take out the try-hards. Don't believe me? Look at most of the Destiny 2 Youtubers they are so reliant on teamplay whilst that isn't a bad thing, no FPS game should be totally reliant on that because a good player should be able to turn the tide of a game, you are going for a competitive feel afterall, yet here we are with all the strong aim assist and constant active radar.... Really, I've no idea what Bungie are doing, but it's not a good move to ruin PVE just for one small part of the game.

3 RisposteI think if people love PVP go play Call of Duty, Halo, Battlefield, overwatch, rainbow six, gears of war and etc. Destiny should of been PVE only game, PVP gamers let them go so where else and stop making this game crap due to cry babies crying about crucible balance on YouTube and other forums/social media. looks like the cry babies are winning, I think those guys should just break their consoles and leave

3 RisposteModificato da JHarv: 7/23/2017 11:38:52 PMIt's just boring to shoot things with a primary for 20 minutes in a strike. I liked shoulder charging, chaining supers, shotgunning things to a pulp, ripping through with swords. After all, strikes aren't end game content, so they should be kind of easy and fun. Raids should be the coordinated team challenge that requires communication and execution. Make PvE great again! Let us mow through it with the skills we've acquired over the past 3 years, and the new players will still find it difficult. I can't imagine how tough this new strike is for brand new console players.

1 RispondiI'm spewing mind salad below. Just a bunch of thoughts. I like pve and pvp. I think I've played more pve as my friends don't like pvp near as much as I do, but I can't say what I would prefer. Pvp after a raid is always a fun way to goof around with friends. Except now in D2 we will have to say, alright player x and y GTFO. I'm going to play crucible with these other 3. I'm sure y'all can go lfg some more folks. I'll say my mindset may have been more what is called "fanboy" before beta release as I firmly believe I need to try something before I criticize it. After beta, I'm rather worried that D2 is going to be a play through the story, and a little pvp and set the game aside. As it stands, d2 doesn't have even 1/8th of the life expectancy of my destiny 1 experience. If supers and grenades cooldowns were cut in half, their cooldown would still be slower than destiny 1 abilities. Why must bungie always over do any of their nerfs? Why does the cooldown and effectiveness of abilities both have to be gutted? Shotgun and snipe as a power weapon may work in pvp (roaming one shot machines), but in pve, that concept sucks monkey nuts. With the current drop rate on heavy ammo being as abysmal as it is, we are doomed to run through an entire strike and just slowly tickle enemies to death with mediocre primaries. I don't know how they can completely change the loadout possibilities (shotty and snipe being heavy slot) before actual release, so I'm very nervous for that level of change. Hit detection in crucible seems way off. I've missed shots that know I should have hit, and I've hit shots that I feel like I missed by more than 10meters. I love the concept of the story we may get in D2, but my excitement pretty much ends there. As I have dropped more than 3000 hours into destiny and had immeasurable fun with friends, it saddens me that D2 may be the end of my destiny road.. I can only hope they make this game more like what it was. We wanted more story, more gear, some more experienced, but I seriously doubt most folks wanted this completely neutered version of destiny.

They could have easily implemented elemental primaries. And just moved those to the special slot. And kept snipers, fusions; and shoties in the special too. THAT WOULD be freedom. If you wanna run the traditional load out, fine. Wanna experiment with two primaries? You can do that too!
-
Why d2 though? Why couldn't they just keep expanding d1 like thy said they would? Cash that's why. Well they may not be getting mine
-
Yes sir glad I'm not the only one thinking exactly as you are the way the weapons are suck big fing time they should have kept it the same as d1 and the skill tree so much for being a strong individual/personal gaurdian with freedom to play as I like now it's even more restricting than ever and I don't feel any connection with any of my gaurdians it feels like they took the good parts of d1 and trashed them and kept the bad parts. So disappointed.
-
Look: D1 was a PvE game balanced for PvP. D2 is a PvP game, balanced for PvP. Despite everything thta they're saying, it's true.
-
PVP ruined PVE. Good job bungie...bravo...
-
As many said, Bungie said that they are aware of issues and already changed. Slow TTK, super filling time or granades are easy to fix. What I am concerned is new weapon loadouts in pve, especially raids. This cant be undo or change easly if it doesnt work.
-
1 RispondiI'm relieved I didn't pre-order.
-
Bungie was never followed through on the PVE aspect, they have been nerfing since the beginning to appease PvP. The weapons in vanilla were great for PVE but as soon as the whiners got wrecked by one in PVP that ended. Never mind the threat of Siva , the salt has been far worse. Bungie really just needs to stop claiming how great the story is going to be, and the improvements to PVE and then showing that at its core it's all balanced to cater to PVP, pick one and own it.
-
Except they ruined PvP too!
-
8 RisposteI think it's pathetic how they are trying so hard to fix pvp which can never be competitive and ruining the rest of the game in the process. E sports would laugh their asses off if bungie applied to them. It cannot be competitive when you have supers and different classes and abilities. It's not possible. I feel like the people who work at bungie either have no clue or are just following orders from 1 head guy in a office who has never played the game. Summary The bungie reputation is damaged Bungie are making some really questionable decisions for the future of the game They are almost certainly losing players If this beta was a way for them to show off the game and attract new players to buy then it's been a disaster.

When I played the strike for the first time it felt so wrong and so weird. Then I played pvp and it's like nothing changed. Went 2.83 and 2.40 in the two matches I played. So I have to agree with OP.

1 RispondiBungie seems to think they could have a MLG worthy game if they tinkered with it enough. It'll never be Halo/COD so I'm not sure why there is such a heavy emphasis on PVP here. From Bungie's perspective, PVP is the cheapest/easiest route for the game however, again, it'll never be MLG worthy. I think if they put in the effort to flush out the story, add side missions, beef up on raids/strikes, it could be quite enjoyable. I feel that, at some point, Destiny will turn into COD where it'll be 99% PVP with a set story mode/campaign that you can play whenever the network is down.
-
1 RispondiOk seriously no. THE PVP IS INSANELY BETTER THAN D1. Do you understand that Primary gun battles? Something everyone begged for, weaker grenades to eliminate one shot sticky spam? Yeah please stop complaining because complain hard enough, WELL BE BACK IN STICKY NADE SIDEARM META YOU GODDAMN SCRUB.

2 RisposteBungie, in D2 please bring back... Everything that was in D1 because anything new is not welcome around these here parts... Also, anything old or "re-skinned" is not welcome around these here parts either. In fact please somehow make everything exactly the same and familiar but new and exciting without straying too far away from what's familiar, but not too different either. Actually, scratch that. Please nerf stuff before we use it, but make sure everything is balanced before we use it, but not too balanced otherwise everyone will use the same weapons, which will mean you'll have to nerf them, but please FFS, stop nerfing stuff. God... I hate D2, worst game ever.
Yes, I'm back posting this same tired old post again... Kinda like all the same tired old posts like the one we see here.

Whichever side of the fence you're sitting on, you're still here playing "Destiny: Forum Edition".

I'm betting 90% of those hating on Bungie and anyone who doesn't share their negative points of view will buy Destiny 2... See you in September!
