OP - Go and play Halo if you don't like abilities or super, this is Destiny and we love a good super.

Supers are the most defining element of any class. Being forced to hold them once you do get them waiting for the right moment because if you use it too early it'll take forever to get it back is not fun.

Lots of other FPS games out there. Weapons only. Destiny is a SYFY/Sci Fi FPS game, which is the reason I like it. I enjoy killing with my supers and weapons both. To the ones who say more weapon kills... go buy BF, CoD, etc.

I don't play destiny for the challenge, I play it to have fun. Pve without supers or strong weapons is still easy, just not fun. Without space magic it's just another drab space shooter.

You're missing the point. In a game about space magic, why wouldn't you want to use your space magic as much as possible... It's fun. This isn't CoD.

Don't speak to me like you have suffered the same struggles vets from D1 have. You came in during a time where the game was at its highest point (HoW was the greatest). But you aren't a beta, day 1, or vanilla player. You don't understand.

The duel primaries makes it feel like i am playing the division... needing to unload 2 clips on enemies to kill things even with crits... the game is too slow for my enjoyment

(And credit Spider-Man homecoming). 2) When was the last time you did a strike or NF or raid and the VAST majority of the kills were from supers??? The majority of pve kills is from weapons. So what is your point? That people used spam abilities to get the majority of their kills in pve? I call bullshit. 3) It's fine to complain. It's not fine to whine. That I believe is your point. 4) PVE is pretty easy after you get to the max light level and easier with optimized gear/weapons. However, people got the majority of their pve kills from guns and the abilities added fun to those kills. People aren't arguing "it's sooooo hard." They are saying the beta is [b][i][u]boring[/u][/i][/b] for a shooter game with "space magic" compared to the last three years. The concern isn't can I blaze through a strike in under 15 mins but is it FUN? There are many shooters that don't have space magic and this one does but the beta SEEMS TO IMPLY that this limit to the space magic will be the norm in the release which means less FUN. For me that's the point. 5) PVP > PVE. It takes more skill to win pvp than to do pve. Bungie for the past 3 years has pushed changes that sacrifice pve for pvp. This beta shows they care more about pvp than pve to the point that this is now irrefutable. That's their choice and they can do that because it's their company and product. The problem is they have five groups of players. Pvp only. Pvp and some pve. 50/50 (close as can be to even mix). Pve and some pvp (me btw). And pve only. They will alienate the many "pve only" and some of the "pve and some pvp" and maybe a few "50/50." Not a good business model IF they lose players just to make pvp happier which COULD affect their profit. I still think they should separate pvp and pve. Let pvp have game options to go weapons only or everyone has the same weapon only or other options to make it more fun for them BUT don't let that impact pve FUN.

People do use their weapons.... But given this game is a Sci-Fi setting with space magic, I think we expected something more than a primary fest.....

No. Abilities are what set Destiny apart from the other typical shooters. I don't mind having more gunfights, but making abilities so inadequate in damage, duration, and charge rate, makes it boring. They went to the extreme as usual. If the abilities are gonna have such a slow cooldown, they should be stronger. It makes no sense to have the abilities be both weak [i]and[/i] slow. That's just counterproductive, and awful in design.
