Why I've always liked Destiny...
To me it's been the ideal pick up and play game.
Limited time ?. Run a few patrols, couple of strikes..
More time ?. Actually get into Iron banner and see where it takes me or complete a quest line.
From reading these forums you'd think things were terrible. Always being dropped into games on the losing side. Always lag. Always cheating.
Sure there have been a couple of incidents where I've dropped in on the losing side. Yes lag has disrupted a couple of games but, overall, I'd say 99% of my experience has been smooth.
I don't need a job or to take a game seriously. I've got one of those. I don't care about my stats. I'm the casual casual who plays for fun and just wants to blow off steam at the end of another hectic day.
So, to me, Destiny's been fantastic. Not without its flaws of course, but in my view it's given me a great deal of pleasure at a minimal £ per hour rate!
Here's to Destiny 2. Hope it gives me as much enjoyment as the first one has!.

1 RispondiDoes destiny love you though? Are you going to spend the next 3 years chasing something and never quite getting there? I only ask because I remember seeing a post from someone asking if D2 had a place for them, about not raiding etc. I mean, farming random s*** and never quite getting there might be fun, but 6 years of it?

3 RisposteThe people on this forum who come to abuse others and spout hateful rhetoric arent the destiny community, the real community are the people i met at the gameplay reveal ( i was at one of the UK Odeon ones ) who i play with now, the destiny cosplayers i met at comicon, and of course all the awsome people i've met through LFG who i still raid with, so yeah, here's to destiny 2

3 RisposteDestiny is a great game. Even after 3 years I simply cannot stop playing it. Sometimes I leave for a couple of weeks but once I start up the game and feel the gunplay I get sucked right back in. The game is the best when you dont put to much pressure on your performance and just play for fun. Sounds so simple doesnt it? When is the last time you loaded up some patrol and explored and met new guardians and helped them out? Of course you want all the (new) gear and items but sometimes the journey is more important than the destination. Happy hunting guardians

2 RisposteI am a day one casual player. In 3 years I've logged just over 900 hours on all three characters. This game was not what was originally advertised and yes lag can be an issue. I still go back to the one simple truth. If you hate the game so much as to go on the forums and lose your mind, wouldn't it just be easier to play something else. There are a bunch of great games to choose from. Stress is a big killer in America and I've not only read a bunch of stress on the forums but also experienced it while playing with other people. Just take a chill pill and try to enjoy the game or don't play. Don't let anyone steal your mojo baby!!

Now, you have people playing 10hrs a day. What surprises me is that the same people who have thousands of hours in this game still complain about it. The usual (I love Destiny...I want to see it reach its full potential... blah, blah,blah). Seriously, what other activity do these people participate in "voluntarily" that they dislike doing? Say what you will in the forums, but truth be told the majority of complainers really like this game and will be buying D2. If there was a better game then they would be playing it, instead of putting themselves through this much grief playing Destiny. I enjoy Destiny for what it is...a video game and nothing more.

Destiny was the 2nd game I consistently played for more than a year...and it has been 3 years of 'playtime' The only thing I played up to year was Skyrim, and it was only a year, not 3 years. (on console, so no mods available) Me and my brother always called destiny "Space Skyrim", lmao.

Tbh the only reason most of the people complain is because some NoobTuber or Streamer has decided to create an issue over something. It gains traction and then gets picked up and rehashed over and over and over again. Just look at the Destiny Toobs and how they spin a half arsed throwaway comment into a 12 minute copy and paste spout. All the while formulaically edited over some inane gameplay that is about as interesting as watching paint dry whilst having your back, sack and crack rubbed down with sandpaper, and always ends with the usual bleet about needing subs/likes/hitting their bell ends and following them on Twitter, subscribing to their Twitch channel and donating money to them via Patronising, or whatever it's called. [spoiler]if u like what I do and would like to see more comments then drop yer kecks down low, follow me on Tinder, and drop me a ten spot and I'll ring ur bell 🙊[/spoiler]

I used to love Destiny. Brought many new guardians into the fold during my time playing the game. The game started out as a flawed, but addictingly fun game. That first year was truly magical. My problem with the game is that as they kept trying to improve it, they kept taking away things from the game that I truly loved. The endgame loot that really reduced grind? Virtually eliminated in Y2/Y3. Fun and powerful weaponry in PVP and PVE? Nerfed because people couldn't handle being killed in PVP. Endgame content that was worth doing because the gear actually made a difference? Eliminated because too many people complained they couldn't raid. Powerful and exciting exotics? Eliminated, much thanks to PVP nerfs. And D2 will continue the trend. I loved carrying around a ton of superior firepower, but the new loadout changes that. Changes to PVP formats that used to accomodate full raid teams? Just plain sucks. Slowing down gameplay in PVP and PVE? I loved the faster play. Once you start removing things people actually love about the game, you remove the reasons why they played the game in the first place. I could be wrong about this, but I lost any incentive to keep playing this game when TTK launched (but I continued to play because I bought TTK, couldn't get my $ back, and I had hopes that maybe things would change), and D2 doesn't seem to do anything to reverse that trend. If not, at least Anthem looks great!

I can understand people getting upset about spending money and being let down (the division, no mans sky, etc.). But when you complain and then spend 1400 hours playing the game, you're kind of contradicting yourself. I play games for what they are, just good fun.

1 RispondiI love Destiny 1, I am a year 3 player and I grinded the -blam!- out of this game. I started playing right after Iron and everyday after, this game always has something for you to do. Destiny 2 will have the same effect and I can't wait to see the amazing years that they will bring upon us. Hopefully there will be no Destiny 3 as Destiny 2 will bring joy upon many years.

This is precisely the way I feel about it and I'm glad I'm not the only one... reading some of the comments and posts lately you would think Destiny is a terrible game that everyone hates, but I love it! And I can only play it for 1 hour ever week!!

1 RispondiDestiny to me is definitely a unique game, its not like those generic FPS games like the yearly CoD, because unlike those games the gunplay is actually good, and part of why I played for so long. But unlike most people now that I have 3 max characters I cant bring myself to play it anymore regardless of who I'm playing with. That being said, I am crossing my fingers that Destiny 2 exceeds 1 in every aspect, but I'm trying to keep my expectaions low. Regardless, good post mate and if you enjoy the game even still, thats fine with me.
