• Want tips? I can provide some neat tips.
1. Take the high ground. Seriously this is so helpful, you can land headshots more easily and remove yourself from eneny fire almost instantly. This is a good tip for any hero you're playing. 2. Learn all the characters, what they do, and what's good against them. Learn them by trying them out and seeing what you can kill good and what can kill you good, so you can know who to and who not to fight (unless forced). 3. Main a hero. Whilst being at least decent with every hero is important, having a hero to main and be really good with can help your team out immensly if the position for the role your hero is in is available. For example: I'm decent with most heroes, good with some, and "the ultimate crushing machine" with Reinhardt. The tank position is available most of the time so I just pick Rein for most of my competitive matches. Yourmain should be something you're comfortable with. 4. Be willing to switch. Adding up to point 2. Knowing what works well against you will let you know that either A: your team isn't doing well countering the enemy, or B: you should switch off the hero you're playing because you're being countered. For example: bastion is effective against tanks, such as winston, genji (if the bastion isn't smart enough) is a good counter to bastion because of his deflect ability. Good counters to bastion are also snipers, zenyatta and mccree. While Winston is a good counter to Genji, the snipers, mccree and zenyatta. Just one of the rock paper scissors scenarios. 5. When you do competitive (which I recommend doing not at level 25, but at least 50) use your microphone to communicate to your team, do callouts, talk about team composition, available ults and what the enemy might have... just general helpful info. 6. Be positive. Never, ever, EVER get toxic. This can cause a team to tilt, and make someone throw, or just not co-operate with the team. Make sure the mood is (relatively) good. Compliment peoples actions, say thanks if you get saved, you know, spread the good vibes. 7. If you're playing Genji spam "I need healing" whenever you can to maximise kills per minute, it kills a nearby enemy hero instantly when you use the voice line, but only with Genji. So pick Genji, jump into the enemy team and spam "I need healing!" To get play of the game immediately.
