I was very disappointed when I read the news. I felt all the time I and my son and friends put into getting all the gear and leveling up our light levels was a waste. All of the other games we didn't bother playing what a waste. One of the things that attracted us to Destiny was the fact that it was supposed to be a ten year saga to watch our characters evolve and to grow almost like having a friend to keep coming back to and enjoy there companionship . Now what bungie is doing is just another continuation game Destiny 2 then 3 then 4. Just keep wiping your progress and starting over. Who really cares about saving the looks of your character most guardians never remove there helmets. Your looks were your armor shaders emblems types of weapons slung on your back your Raid gear or Iron banner gear etc etc. Now you (Bungie ) want us to continue with you to do it ALL over again with just different planets different gear different weapons but probably the same old grind. Here's an idea how about sticking to the original plan , KEEPING what we already have achieved our levels our light OUR things and building on that. Moving forward on our original characters as a base going to a new Galaxy. Probably not because it's easier just to erase all our progress I mean we're only the players. Well I will end this rant with one word DISAPPOINTMENT

I just want like a trophy or display room. Have my Outbreak Prime or Touch of Malice, Sleeper, Black spindle or some other weapons up on display rack. Obviously you'd be the only one to be able to see it, but still.

Yes, but no one forced me to do anything that I did not want to do. I knew my pitiful attempts to keep up with Destiny hardcore weren't going to pay off and yet I played Destiny almost every single day in Year 1. I played a lot less in Year 2 and 3 but I still came back for more. I always hoped that Destiny would be a 100% new game from Destiny and that nothing would carry forward to Destiny 2. I do regret spending more time on the Destiny grind and barely playing games like the Witcher 3, Arkham Knight, Bloodborne and MGS5.

At no point ever did I play destiny thinking "man this is so great I can play this game forever cause everything I do will be in the sequel" I don't think anyone else did either it's just something that people started saying.

Modificato da Aulakauss: 3/4/2017 7:15:28 PMI've got 1,002 hours on my main character alone. That's a thousand hours of entertainment and playing with friends that I've had with Destiny. Time wasted? Hell no. I was operating under the assumption up until now that we'd be starting afresh entirely. I get to keep my Warlock that I made on launch day, and I'm happy with that. In three more years (if that ends up being what a Destiny cycle looks like) I'll answer the same when we're having this same discussion about Destiny III. Go find me five games that have had full sequels and let you take all your gear with you. In the history of ever. If you somehow manage that I'll challenge you one more: Find me one MMO or FPS that did the same. Everyone's acting like this is some giant kerfuffle and that anyone else making a sequel would let us keep our shit. Those games are rarities. Hell, games where you have the same damn character as the last game are rarities. The last game I played that allowed me to take my character forward to the next game was Mass Effect for goodness sake.

2 RisposteModificato da Sideswipe: 3/4/2017 6:24:11 PMIf you feel like you wasted your time, just stop playing games all together. You're doing it wrong. Games are and should be about enjoying the time spent playing, solo and with friends. If your time with friends was wasted, then you need to reevaluate your priorities and values. While it is disappointing, it is sorely needed. All gear is a shadow of their former selves. There's little that's even worth trying to save. It's like my wife demanding we keep that end table that has a broken leg and drawer in hopes that it may one day get fixed despite that are better options that fit better with the current decor. And no one is asking those all-important questions: Do we know why? Not really Do we know if emblems will even be a thing in D2? Do we know how we will be able to color our guardians? Will Shaders then be compatible with the new system? What's the point if these things aren't compatible with the new system?
-
d2 will be so boring if our stuff carried over... there would be no special or grindy feeling.. look D1 isnt going anywhere so you can just hop on and boom play with your stuff right there
-
I don't. I've spent 1500 hours on my Titan....
-
I wouldn't say I wasted my time. I've had a lot of fun playing destiny for the most part (FOR THE MOST PART GUARDIANS) playing destiny. Sure there were times bungie pissed me off like with this sidearm meta right, but yeah I cant say name one game I've come back to as much as destiny. Will I buy D2.....
Not pre-ordering (idk yet), It better have a beta, hope its online optional( none of our stuff is transferring so why not), Supers better be there revamped and not taken (pun), and It better feel and look very different. If those things check out, yes Ill buy D2.
I'll be okay and move on. It's just a game.

I played this game for like 2 or 3 years, and I've had fun while doing it. So no, I didn't waste my time.
-
You people are honestly the most whiney bunch of people that I have ever seen. GET THE -blam!- OVER IT. It is just a game. DEAL WITH IT

4 RisposteModificato da PinkethVirus: 3/4/2017 5:54:14 PMYour an idiot

Nope. That would be like me regretting literally any game i've ever played that I no longer play. Frankly it's quite rare that sequals let you carry anything over from the old game. and the statement from bungie back in 2014 was back when Bungie thought vanilla destiny was "good."
-
Do not feel time was wasted, but a little disappointed. To make Destiny 2 better, it is the right decision to leave power items behind. It is unfortunate they over promised and under delivered on their 10 year plan.
-
7 RisposteIt's new game I don't understand why people expected destiny 2 to be one fat ass dlc. That would suck, new game yay!!!
-
12 RisposteSure my time was wasted. Just like my dinner last night. I consumed it, enjoyed it, and now it's going to pass. Consume Enjoy Move on. Humans. That's living.

No wonder they become so generous with prized items in the game, like exotic engrams and skeleton keys. Who cares what people have if it won't carry forward, right?
-
Nope. I spent time grinding and now I'm levelled up enough with quality weapons that I can do any activity Bungie throw at me. We are all going to have to grind the same in D2
-
Nope, I enjoyed playing this game.
-
My time was not wasted because i had fun.
-
I agree that what drives most players, at least this one, was the grind chasing loot, playing with other adults in a team effort to achieve those goals. Now with basically no carry over, we start from essentially scratch. If we wanted to do that we simply could have wiped a character and replayed the game... I guess many newer players didn't have the incredible grind it took in year one to level up. Chasing the Gjallarhorn and finally getting one, if you ever got one. Playing with someone on their 25th Crota raid trying in vain to get the Black Hammer. I look forward to the new Destiny and I get that they figured they could fix the weapon and ammo issues, etc. But wow it really feels like a waste of time now and why bother playing? What's the point of grinding for nothing? Disappointing.
-
Yes, but I'm ok with it
-
So, what, we're supposed to start a new game with lvl 50 enemies and destroying pretty much everything with limitless exotic and heavy weapons and space powers? I can pretty much guarantee that if bungie had decided that everything stays the same, we keep our gear and power but have to move on to another planet and such with even more powerful enemies, people would still complain. "What the hell bungie, my weapons are so weak and they barely do any damage!" They'd say. And then when they find new and more powerful weapons, people would again say "what the hell bungie, I wanted to keep my original weapons all the way through, I liked them. Why the hell do I have to get rid of them?"
-
Was your time wasted grinding and building your character
Yes. Welcome to the world of video games
-
Not really. I just enjoy the gunplay. Their decision to discontinue this old gear only makes me confident that the new stuff will be better. Besides, while our old favorites may not carry over, I somehow believe it's not the end of the line for some of those items...
